  1. You inspired me to make a P2P, B2P, F2P thread now
  2. B/c it is freaking Star Wars ... duh
  3. Maybe it isn't new news but I didn't know about the lest second ..... DARTH VADER is in it. The only time we have seen Darth Vader since the original trilogy is the very very VERY BAD ending scene in the "I wish I could erase from history" prequals ..... the sad NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo. He may only have the amount of time and say just as much as Luke in the Force Awakens but still .... a possibility to end that bad Darth Vader taste in my mouth that has been there for a decade or whatever. lol
  4. Good point .... if the base is finadable ( I just made up a word there)
  5. It is an MMO .... it has to have character variety. It may not be in at launch but JC will have to have it in the game at some point.
  6. I agree. It is subjective. It is a matter of perspective.
  7. Yeah, the ideas on here are what I would think to make this work. However like mentioned above we make the rules so there would have to be a reason to make it "illegal" to make the smuggling idea feel like smuggling instead of transporting. Obviously it would have to be a game mechanic of some kind where not only the individual has a temp buff along with some sort of negative but a reason for organizations to care about them as a market. I imagine it would have to be something possibly simple to put in the game, no reason to spend a couple months on the idea trying to get it into the game. Like I've typed more than once, without the rules of the game even being decided or thought of yet it is hard to really discuss details on how this could work. One thing that comes to mind is I imagine there would be some sort of taxing system for organizations. Organizations able to get some sort of cut from its members. Maybe whenever someone uses one of these "drugs" then the cut that goes to the organization from the player gets reduced .... just evaporated from the world of 1's and 0's. Ex. Organization taxes 10%. A players uses drugs. Each time a drug is used the player still loses 10% but the organization gets maybe 9.99% ... then 9.98% or whatever each time that players uses a drug. This effect is time based so if someone goes "clean" then it works back towards full amount. A drug affect on this lasts a month or something then it is over. It would be in the organization's interest to stop drug usages/smuggling. Players will have to deal with consequences of using drugs b/c what organization is going to sign up or keep a drug addict? Along with the addiction idea as well, this could really open up an area of role play for pirates/smugglers etc. Obviously the buffs would have to be pretty good for this to work. I have not read or heard anything about buffs being in the game though let alone maybe players able to create or invent such things. If so I may need to rethink my plan .... find a remote planet and start cookin' baby!!!
  8. I love everyone on the forum Oh wait that was the alcohol talking.
  9. Not my stuff ... my stuff is my stuff ... not your stuff .... so don't even think about it
  10. The Ark zones will naturally be an urban type of area. With organizations spamming or doing anything to try to top the others in recruitment and it being a non-pvp zone this will be a natural place to have the main market and area of interaction along with noob starter homes. After a while there will be other market hub locations determined by factors like location and safety spreading further and further from the Ark ship. The Ark ship will definitely be the main urban area even when other locations become more popular with more established players. If you ever played Star Wars Galaxies or many other mmo's where there is a noob starting location it is like spam central with guilds trying to recruit new players. Without knowing .... heck without the "rules" of the game even being decided yet it is sort of hard to plan the how this will happen but I dream of being a part of some location or locations where players are SAFE and hang out, trade, etc. and not just Yin Yang Federation only, but like minded organizations whom all benefit with a location like this outside of the Ark ship area. With a game so open and so much opportunity to be creative, having urban centers allow the spread of ideas that lead to other creations and so on, in which all benefit. This also allows more depth for role play for those who like to. Heck, I may just open a bar as the first thing I try to do when the game launches However Ghoster, I would guess even if urban centers pop up, most will have their HQ or something somewhere remote for secrecy and/or safety.
  11. While reading this I thought you may be going somewhere else with this. Open gates to the public then after some time while they become dependent on them stop the free service and force them to pay. haha
  12. Why did you change your avatar? Crazy looking guy with a glowing headband worked.
  13. Really too many unknowns about the game still to be able to say this can happen. I have imagined planets where cities include embassy's type buildings in the same area for diplomacy and trade; like a multi-orgainzation city (or cities) built and occupied by each. Probably in "safe" planets or areas that JC stated would be in game. However it sounds great but in game play it may not be worth it or necessary if we can simply send emails without cost investment or risk. Even if you could get a majority to agree to this how long would it be until someone plays the evil card and just waits for the opportunity to pounce? How can this be set up so it is in every organizations interest to NOT scheme and attack? I know for me trust would be an issue if there is no self interest keeping the dogs of war at bay.
  14. So an organization that wants to keep the balance? Hmmm ... if only there was an organization with a focus on balance .....
  15. Most if not all of you guys have probably heard this hour long interview already but I do want to say thanks to JC for taking the time to answer questions clearly, honestly, and as in depth as he could .... GrayStillPlays for conducting a good interview and asking the questions the community wanted .... and the community for giving their opinion or expressing what they wanted to know. It fed my Dual Universe appetite for at least a few days I hope ... lol Much of it have been written about in dev blogs and the ask us anything thread but it is always good to hear the top man in his own words describing the vision of the game. So I just wanted to say kudos and thanks as well as let people know who may not have heard the interview and are interested.
  16. Well a game like Eve the universe is finite. So you can solo but holding a region in null is not happening. This universe is not finite really, being procedurally generated. It is an MMO and the devs want it to be an mMo but the construction of the universe allows solo players to go further probably then any other MMO ... as far as having a lot without being found. If you wanted to you could go out far with just probes for a while so there isn't a stargate network others could use to find your trail. If you really wanted to go solo you could from what I know of the game so far. You would be missing out on tons of player content though but just depends on the person of course and what they want to do. I don't understand why people get so worked up about someone playing an MMO but like to play solo. To each their own. LEAVE SOLO PLAYERS ALONE!
  17. Played both the star trek and the star wars mods for that game. Sins is one of my favs. And gutter .... WTH never played Sins of a Solar Empire?? I don't know how much on Steam but if it is $20 it would be worth it.
  18. Only way I see it happening is if it is a game control neutral area ... non-PVP area. Otherwise it would be a target for those people who don't play nice with others.
