  1. this is a simple hull im building in Landmark (voxel building engine) this is a SMALL ship build to show just how SMALL this is here is the total build area I have to work with: this is about half the total area we will have in DU, We will have Tons of room to build in
  2. dealing with everquest Next, Im still pissed they shut that down(im reminded of that everytime i play landmark), i was looking forward to playing the next gen MMORPG, but Im glad I have landmark to play, now i see why I stayed with LM, DU is using the same engine, so hopefully i will have my everquest next. I use to love being a D&D Wizard, I was one in Everquest 2, but now im a Starship Captain, I love space games, I will work with the Devs to Make DU the best game Ever, it will combine the best of several games I currently play Second life, Landmark, Space engineers. I have experience with scripting, building ( with prims and voxels). all that aside, From my perspective as a beta tester and player of LM, it ran, played great, the bugs that did come up were dealt with by the devs. they did the best job making landmark.

CaptainTwerkmotor DID you play or were a member of the alpha or beta team for LM, were you dev on LM or Everquest next ???, I have been part of the beta for LM, im still playing LM, WITH ZERO ISSUES. as im writing this LM is running in the background, Perfectly, LM has the best looking ocean of any game i have played to date.

Fellow Landmarkien, they dont know about microvoxels, nanovoxels, negative voxels it is not an advertised part of the voxel engine, I wanted to see if the Alpha team will discover these things, most likely they will. you and I are going to be popular members of the Alpha team, we know alot about the voxel engine. I do hope NQ gives us the same tools as we had in LM, we can work with NQ to implement that, give them screenshoots of the LM tools work with them to get as close as possible to those tools. Really glad to have a fellow landmark builder here.
  5. here is the full sized land build in landmark(about 300 to 400m), this will be less then half the size of what we will have in DU(1000m). look closely you can see me standing down on the shore. the colored spots you see on the ground are resources you can mine, they are random.
  6. this is a ship i built in Second life, my Luxury Starship Yacht, all the comforts of home . 2 guest bedrooms, 1 Master bedroom, hanger bay for shuttles, engineering room, Full bridge, Living room, as you can see slide out balcany, out the back is the slide out Patio

  8. Hello Hampius I still Play LM, im curretly looking to build a space ship hull in LM to see how it will look in voxels. Remember all the great secrets we found in the voxel engine, Im looking forward to see if the Alpha team in DU can found those same things.
  9. guys it will be easy to build ships in DU, im building a model of a ship in landmark to see how it will look in voxels. the smallest voxel in Land mark is about 10 to 11 ins on a side cube.so not sure how that equats to metrics. but we will be able to make much smaller voxels then that but that will be after you place the voxels down.there is Alot more I can tell you about building with Voxels but it will have to wait till alpha.
  10. DU Guys I just came up with an idea for building the first space station. Build a Seed ship on the ground this can be the command center for the station, make it like a big cargo ship. big empty room with a cockpit or bridge built on, launch that in to space place it where you want then build the station around that seed ship the empty room can be filled with chairs, consoles, screens. maybe mod the ship to put in windows for the command room. or build the complete command center on the ground launch that in to orbit then build the station around that. later on as the station grows you can add another bigger command room.
  11. true, But I don't want NQ to repeat the Mistakes of other games past. there are Many lessons from other games we can bring to DU so it will be a great game . We are building this game Together.
  12. DU There are Many other ideas and things I will need to discuss with NQ only. But that will be for a later time. I telling the Community becouse it will affect game play, laws We make, behavior we except and don't except. the sociaty we want to create in DU, with no interference from the Gods (NQ). P.S. this will be for the Release version of the game Not Alpha

DU community The story from Second life is that a Great artist created beautiful art work in SL. 1000's of people love his art, they bought it, own it. then when the person behind the avatar Died in Real life, this was Reported to the people that run Second life, they then Deleted that person's account, as a result, all of that person's items he created in SL were Removed from the system Permanently. SO all that beautiful Art was Lost, never to be seen again. So Please NQ do not repeat the mistakes of Linden labs ( the company that runs Second life). NQ We had this issue come up in Second Life and the outcome was the worst thing to ever happen in a virtual world, when a player left Second life and there ACCOUNT was Deleted, Everything that person created was also Deleted even if someone else owned it. because there were separate fields in every item for Creator and owner. so if the Creator was deleted then everything from that creator was deleted. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS IN DU. a lot of great things will be created / built in DU. just because the person that created those things is gone from the system, does not mean all he/she created has to be Removed.   15. Violet / DU This is the same thing they did in SL (Second Life). Players maintained everything inworld like Roads,parks. The Devs Do none of that, they can appoint someone to run the maintenance division, that person can choose from residents, who will be a member of said division, good builders, managers.

  17. oh have all you builders Read the back story of the game yet ?? If Not READ IT, it will give you tones of info on the way we will mine and gather resources, and Hopefully if they stick to the story some ways to find BLUEPRINTS I hope they will have those items ready by Alpha.
  18. Wicpar I will need the assistance of a coder in DU, when we get comfy with the LUA code, I need a jump drive built. Im hoping we will have a good "Move object" command in LUA. I hope you signed up for the Alpha.

  20. Yes you can recover 100% of the resources if you delete vowels. I play Landmark and it uses the Voxel building system. infact im checking out building a ship in landmark to see how it will look. they let us build anything in landmark. but be warned, Have LOTS of Resources in your inventory when you start building you, don't want to run out of Iron or copper a third of the way thru your build.

  22. I would like to Ask about the plot of land you will own, I have not heard about the height of the own airspace over land, how high up will that go 1KM ?? or less, in other words if i was to fly over someone elses land how high do I have to be to Not be on there land ??? Thank you
  23. I plan on transferring my Starships from Second life to DU. these ships are very advanced. Advanced flight systems, holodecks, remote control, access computer system.
  24. Also coders are going to test the limits of the code, see how complex and how much the code can do, some coders not sure might compete with each other, see who can do the best code for say a flight system or control system.
