  1. I know! Me too! I think I'm going to start doing recruiting posters again soon, maybe in a week or two. Ready to get that all ramped up again.
  2. All of the above, except Arena battles. I put testing with friends because that pretty much encompasses it all. I doubt I'll be doing any of these things on my own.

You've got a real talent man. I just listened to your latest. Very good. I really like the intensity at the end. Keep 'em comming
  4. Hi BenFargo, I wouldn't worry about it this soon. It's still so early and we are not even in Alpha yet. My own crew has become very quiet since there is not a lot of DU stuff to talk about right now. So all we do is play other games together right now. It'll pick up I imagine when Alpha launches and then it will probably slow down again when folks start to realize that Alpha is only a bunch of testing and get bored with that. I think it will really pick up in the middle of Beta. The Community page should be a lot different than it is now by that time. So kick back, relax and enjoy the anticipation. About all we got right now :-)
  5. That's why I don't even bother trying: http://www.dualcreatives.com/forums/topic/forum-rules-2/
  6. You're asking the impossible. People will get upset no matter how honorably or dishonorably their builds are destroyed. In the end they are out of a lot of time and work either way. It's how you deal with it in the aftermath that matters. Do you go into a red rage and make vengeance your main priority and go on a killing spree? Or do you learn from the experience and spend the time sending out spies, building back up, changing tactics, running drills, planning the perfect plan and then go after your revenge? But here we are again. Do either of these responses automatically make you a griefer? Maybe, maybe not. Could be that the pirates are the ones who "technically" get griefed the most often from folks who can't let go of their anger over a perfectly legitimate pirate attack. I think this is another one of those things that will need to be taken on a case-by-case basis. IMO that's one of the main things wrong with most societies. Everyone wants blanket laws for every little thing and that never works because people are all different and no two encounters happen under the same circumstances. It's an exercise in futility.
  7. Well, I still think that moderation is the only real solution to most of the issues brought up here. So as I have nothing else constructive to add - lest I be accused of post count harvesting - I'll leave it to you guys to sort out. Good luck
  8. Still the same question. Do you really think that "fiddling" with the post counts - in any way - will actually stop spam and non-constructive arguments from happening? If you think so, then why not just remove it - period- from ALL topics? Then we would ALL be equal in that regard. Fine by me either way. But, I'm not sure that would help whatever problems you have with the post counts. People are people. I think they will spam and argue and give bad advice or misquote devs for many other reasons - be it ignorance, boredom, personal issues with other posters, etc. What stats do we fiddle with to fix all of that?
  9. Isn't that how just about every forum is though? And will removing the post count actually stop that from happening? I would think that this issue would fall under moderation. You can't automate some things.
  10. All the post count means to me is that one person has more spare time than another to waste posting on forums. So maybe if you're trying to tell me that you're some high-power business man running three businesses, I might suspect you're lying if you have hundreds of posts on a game forum, but that's about it. I actually don't even understand why anyone would be worried about it. Do people really take that as some sort of status symbol or something? And if so, what harm can come from that? That someone might believe something they say about the game? Couldn't any comments made by anyone about the game be easily proven or disproved by other folks who can post right after them with source links and the like? Is misinformation being spread by "posers" with high post counts rampant on these forums? Sorry, just not getting why this is something I should be concerned about.
  11. Happy Holidays Everyone!! Stay safe and have fun!!
  12. I agree with most of the sentiment here. Griefing can be defined in many ways from person to person. Killing a fellow player in a PVP game via the act of piracy is not griefing, IMO. I personally plan on doing my fair share of killing (and dying) in this game. Otherwise, I don't want to play. I'm tired of vanilla games that cater to people who don't want any actual game play in their games. IMO, if you don't want to die - ever - then don't play a game with PVP in it. Simple solution.
  13. Not gonna tell you our plans, but lets just say that you're not the only person who's thought about all of the implications and requirements to be successful in such an industry.
  14. Hehe, yes, I believe there will be quite a market for smugglers and the like. But I doubt it will be easy to be successful at it. At least that's what I'm counting on. And that brings me back to my main point, resources will be fought over - be it to own the areas surrounding them or by taking them from people who transport them, or by taking over stargates, etc. I think many players will opt for warfare (or pirating) before they will choose the hermit life. At least I hope so Won't need space truckers, smugglers,or even pirates otherwise.
  15. I guess I was thinking that "this planet" would be rich in iron, "that one" would be rich in copper, and so on. But if every single planet is abundant with every single resource, then you could be right. And yes, if you want to try to survive out in the boondocks all by yourself, then maybe you can have all the iron you want. But there will be plenty of people who don't want to live out there by themselves and will be fighting over those resources that are near civilization and commerce and taking them from those who transport them in from afar. So I don't think it's ridiculous at all. Unless of course we DO end up with star gates all over everywhere and have yet another game that nerfs this kind of game-play with fast travel. If so, then my org is out of business before the game even begins. But the devs are talking like it could take weeks to get from one system to another for the majority of us, so I believe that a lot of folks will be looking for an easier way to get resources than moving weeks away from everyone else.
  16. Wasn't talking about griefing, I was talking about warfare. Fighting over resources will not make the participants griefers by default. Most of our wars in the past have been won or lost due to economic issues like not having enough resources. It's going to be one of the most valid reasons to go to war in the game.
  17. Resources will probably be one of the biggest too as they are supposed to be finite.
  18. Welcome Xeno! I agree, if they pull off even half of what they plan, this could change everything. Very exciting stuff :-)

This is some really nice work! Really like both of them. Great job
  20. I'm playing Empyrion and Ark. Kinda hooked on Ark right now so haven't been on our Empyrion server in a couple of weeks though.
  21. I'm in the US, but keep weird hours. I'm always up really late and find plenty of time to spend with the Aussie we have in our Org. We also have a guy from the Netherlands, Sweden, China and other areas on that side of the planet too. Check us out: https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/the-outfit#tab-description
  22. Uh Oh! I have a discord channel too!! I didn't know it was some kind of evil nefarious tool. Or did I? Maybe I should change over to teamspeak before my reputation is tarnished?
  23. Well, bad news... Bastanoid decided to join another org who answered him first. Too bad that Dual doesn't send notifications to us when we get a message in the community area. I simply didn't reply to him fast enough over the Holiday weekend
