Max Blocks Placeable?

Anyone know how many blocks a single person can make? As much as he can? Is there a max limit?
 

Can we barricade an entire planet in turrets and solar panels?

Max limit? In a 64bit system, more than you could be bothered to reach in reasonable time™.

Having to physically move the materials, you would not be capable of building any planet-sized object constrained by practical limitations long before any system limitations come into play. And I'm certain the system allows a construct to be much larger than any planet, since planets themselves are no different*.

 

*outside of having gravity as a product of mass, which I'm sure player constructs will not have as it would be negligible, for most constructs.

Sure, you can try. But there's a reason blockades are established with moveable vehicles rather than building a wall.

 

They have said players would be able to build a Death Star if they so chose, after all.

As already said, I would too think that you can make a construct as big as you wish.

If you can cover a planet in turrets and solar panels depends on how territory control is handled. AFAWK you can place a TU somewhere ON a hex, not in 'orbit'. So, depending on your generators, you surely can place as many turrets on ground as you please

I'd think you can place as many as you have resources and land for as well as able to protect and defend. Its not like building stuff is going to be free.
