  1. mostly useful data, but I'm going to quibble.

A Voxel is not the corners. it is the space defined by the eight corners. It is far better to think of a voxel as a center point with 8 corner points.

The center point does not move relative to other voxels. each voxel is exactly the same distance from it's neighbors.

Each voxel shares each corner point with the relevant adjacent voxels, so when you change the location of any corner point you effect the corner point of 7 other adjacent voxels.

There are air voxels. they have the same corners but no fill map.

visible voxels are filled with some texture/color map

On the other hand, space is a vaccum. Heat transfer by radiation is inefficient. So active vessels that emits heat can be seen easily. Espacially when said heat is literal plasma coming out the back of your engines.

This is why true stealth should be based on 'real' physics. Do  your burn from a long way away, in a small, dark ship, kill all power and lights, and drift silently by among other debris. If you do this you are almost invisible. If you do anything at all to generate heat or light or alter your trajectory you're going to be noticed.

  3. Just a thought.

If you're willing to self fund an entire new team to develop a unix version, wouldn't it be a whole lot cheaper to just implement one of the many dual boot options? My favorite choice is a front loading swap bay and a second hard drive. That plus the cost of windows would set you back maybe $200. Then you could play with as many different boot OSes as you want, and play a bunch of other games too.
