I saw a video about Dual Universe at E3 on the TheXPGamers channel.  I immediately subscribed to the channel and looked up the DU forum and signed up right away.

Everything I learn about this game and all the new footage I see makes me want this game that much more.

I was introduced to Dual Universe a long ways back when I was still playing another Voxel building game, and a few other games on the side at the time, and they reached out to me on twitter asking for feedback from experienced builders. This was almost a year and a half ago and ever since then I have been following, giving feedback, and giving suggestions as much as I can as I found Dual Universe to be the game I was looking for The biggest things that draw me to Dual Universe is its voxel building, non-restricted building sizes/scale, its 'Millions of Planets' feature as said on their main website as this will be great for exploration, its Politics/Trading/Territory/Organizations features, its MMO feature, and the community that has grown here on the forums

I started following Dual around October of 2014 if I remember correctly. I was making some pretty high profile spaceships in another voxel game and someone who kept up with games more than I do mentioned Dual Universe. I looked into it and was instantly sold on the idea (I wanted to see spaceships fly, other game did not offer this)...but not necessarily committed to the company making it.

J.C. Baillie's background in robotics and programming lured me in pretty hard along with the other members of the team and their past accomplishments. I had also seen some of their art and I was heavily impressed. Their twitter correspondant has always been fun to engage with and has treated everyone as equals. I saw no favoritism coming out of Novaquark.

Once the website went live I read through the dev blogs and was impressed by Novaquarks transparency and honesty. I was hooked. I signed up on the day the forums went live. Ever since then, Novaquark as a team has impressed me with their continued efforts in craft, their continued  design, transparency, and integrity.

Bottom line is that Novaquark has shown to be extremely dedicated and very professional while also maintaining a humanistic connection to the fan base. This is what inspires me the most. The Novaquark team, all of them. Artists, designers, programmers, community relations. Top notch group of people!

In echo of Kiklix I'm past the days where I want to actively recruit anyone. Organic growth seems better, including friends and family coming in as well. The people who approach us want to join us, I'm not a believer in chasing anyone.

I look forward to us developing a sense of kinship.

My proposed idea: Prisoner of War.

    In-game mechanic: PvP

Objective: To obtain prisoners during PvP battles to gain a desired resource. Either currency, resources, or simply a strategic negotiating tool to gain land.

How could it work: In order to be able to obtain a prisoner, you first need to make a Capture Unit. This will enable the obtaining of one prisoner per unit, and each unit will not be easy to make or acquire. Reason being, if they are too easy to make, then too many people will be taken as prisoner, which isn't ideal, and should probably only be reserved for special circumstances. It would also ensure organizations only use a Negotiation Unit when it is a strategic necessity.

I envision a Capture Unit to work much like a ball and chain. In that, when placed and activated it can target the desired player, and essentially hold them in place, moving only when the player in control of the Capture Unit, enables them to move, and move only where the controller moves.

The Capture Unit could come in two parts. A larger element of it could reside at a base. Much like a cryo-chamber. When captive has been taken by the mobile portion of the unit, which you would carry on you, they can be teleported essentially, to the cryo-prison chamber and held there.

Now, no player would want to be held indefinitely, there needs to be a limit. Long enough for ransom bartering to be effective, but not too long. If it's too short it would be ineffective.

If no ransom is agreed, there needs to be a penalty to the prisoner. That penalty, in my view, would need to be harsh enough to prompt an organization to want to rescue their comrade. So at the end of the countdown limit, if no ransom deal is reached, the prisoner must die.

Possibly ressurect at the location they were captured, or less harshly, at their own location.

The logo on my banner is too small and people may think we're the Coalition of Pirates & Snugglers and we all know how much people like to snuggle, thus the influx of new members.

Believe it or not, I recruited ONE person and they refused it. They were my first attempt at a recruit and they will be my last. Lady Astrum has not recruited anyone.

Our growth has been 100% organic.

Really not keen on slaves. Robots, cyborgs, drones and any other manner of technological subservience is fine in my view, but human (or even alien) slaves, really don't like it.

Robots would be a lot stronger than humans. Harder to break, tougher in a fight, easier to fix.

Yes the building attracted me. I like to build big for the most part, but building with voxels alone isn't enough, there has to be a point to it. I need purpose and a sense of direction. A sense of "I'm building this or doing that for survival or strength, or trade, or industry" will give me that meaning and ingrained sense of purpose I desire as a builder-type.

I like the idea of battling for resources if necessary, of obtaining and defending your territory, of exploring vast spaces and seeing how others build up their own piece of civilisation.
