  1. No issues. I think most of us understand the importance of getting the alpha in a good state and having all your ducks lined up for the alpha release.

    Piloting

I would like to see systems implemented that create a greater use of the ship if operated by multiple players. For example. more gun operations from side turrets if multiple people are operating the ship, maybe better, tighther turning or something if a navigator is present...or more efficient FTL if there is a navigator on board vs just a pilot. I can see the need for having one person be able to pilot a large ship, but there should be benefits for groups who multi-pilot a ship. This would help create team play and help to establish "ownership" to a group working on making a large ship.
  3. Sounds amazing! Can't wait to see screenies. It sounds like the move to the Unigine engine makes a lot of sense. Works for me!
  4. I look forward to seeing screenshots in May, so close ?Very exciting!!!
  5. /bow (to bow before someone, like Japanese do) /talk (talk to someone) /conversation /convo (talk to someone in an infinite loop) /Alienparagon (transform into a short but skinny big headed grey alien) /eat (eat food) /eating (eat food in an infinite loop) /drink (drink something) /drinking (drink something in an infinite loop) /datapad (pulls out a data pad and reads it/interacts, like a tablet) I would not expect these at launch, or ever...just throwing out some fun ideas.
  6. I would like to see a mix of /sit emotes as well as a way to make an object (chair-either prop or voxel) clickable and have the character do a sit animation and sit on th chair. ?The reason I would like to see the ability to click on a chair and have the character sit is so the art department can position the character on the chair appropriately. I know its a small detail but I cant stand seeing a character sitting on the edge of a giant chair. One of the most immersion breaking aspects of building games is the failure to scale things appropriately. In Landmark I see people making counter tops that come up to players shoulders. Stuff like that drives me up a wall. The chairs I make in that game are famously liked and enjoyed because I design the chairs around the characters sitting animation. This way when someone sits, it actually looks like they are sitting.
  7. I would be nice to have a place to display art. I imagine we will see this when DU is out of an NDA and is ready to market the game, but it would be nice to have a place to share ideas now.
  8. I am in love with DU's art concepts and things they have showed us so far. Really great looking element sets. I hope the material palette for building is equally as exciting.
  9. I dont mind alts (as long as they are on the same account). In games where you have a lot of character customization I love to have alts. I had done the multiple account thing before in other mmo's and for the same reasons to be self sufficient, but it never really paid off In the end and I end up with one account, which is fine with me. The one thing I do wish is the ability to see my alts all gathered as NPC's inside of 'player housing'. I am currnetly playing SWTOR and I love the stronghold idea, but I dislike that I can not see my alts positioned in the stronghold, brining it alive. There was another voxel game I was playing that only allowed for 1 character on the account and I have multiple accounts for that game, which is kind of a fail imo. I use the other accounts as material holders and for places to build as there is a cap per account on how much you can make. ?I would like to see Dual give us the option of multiple characters on one account, but really we have to wait and see how the game plays out, because it feels like its the kind of game where there really is no need for 'alts' or other accounts. It just depends. If we can specialize but only in certain areas, then there will be a huge need for alts/multiple accounts etc.
  10. Welcome Markus Wolf. I suspect DU is going to be addicting and hopefully contagious. I know for myself that making vehicles/structures out of voxels that serve a purpose in game is going to be tons of fun and should offer years or maybe decades of entertainment.
  11. I generally go the lone wolf route in MMO's. I like to gear my characters out and learn them thoroughly and then build a name for myself as kind of a mercenary. I don't care for the 'job' aspect of some larger guilds.
  12. I cant offer much on the speed limit of the game be it light or FTL, or Warp (folding space). What I can say thought is that I prefer the ability to travel FAST and or DISTANT to scale with ship size. Meaning a small fighter should not be able to jump or go as far as a large ship with more resources, reserves and capacity. Small ships should not be able to warp or FTL, should have limited range but be quick or agile. Medium ships should have a mild jump capability and have a farther reach Larger ships should be able to warp or FTL due to fuel capacity and engine size. Capitol ships should be able to freely roam the universe with an entire ecosystem on board, only stopping for raw materials from time to time. Those are my 'quick thought's' on travel.
  13. True. I figure right now it gives us a good reason to come here and interact, give feedback on the models, etc.
  14. Another just in case you missed it post. Dual tweeted a link to a 3D printer to be used in game. Very cool unit. The blueprint on the top is super cool! https://twitter.com/dualthegame/status/690612201296642048
  15. I can't stop watching that video! One question I have (or a dream I desire)....Will the flame from the Propulsor cause damage or death to those whom stand in front of it? Personally I'd like to see the toons take damage from such things.
  16. Ya, the way the heat looks over the sand is really nice. Its kinda tough seeing that though, makes me want to build something with it asap!!!! I can't wait to make a cool looking ship fly.
  17. Thank you very much! I believe as well that giving nothing but praise can cause complacency in an artist, designer or developer. It's one thing to give praise when we are on the right track, but without a solid critique (feedback), we may not learn how to correct our weaknesses into strengths.
  18. Dual tweeted out a gif of a Mini Rocket Propulsor firing. Can't wait to attach one of these to a construct https://twitter.com/dualthegame/status/689154627120558080
  19. VooDoo, that is a perfect word to describe how I felt about it as well. The namesake feels mystical, magical, but not necessarily technical (and the connotations that go with magical, mystical, or voodoo seemed to embody the art of "voxelmancy") I agree that people should not have to use any outlet outside of the game to find all this stuff. Had all the voxelmancy been under a single website umbrella like Wowhead is to wow, then it would not be so bad. When the sources of the tutorials span 6-10 social media outlets it becomes intimidating, which is a turn off to new players and even some veterans. I don't want to see people turned off in Dual.
  20. Sorry for late reply, did not see your post till now. I hope I did not come across as argumentative or being adamant about superimposing my opinion on the topic. I have been told by someone close to me that my posting often comes across as stern, forceful, harsh, rigid. I believe honesty is the best policy and my approach to any given topic is generally to impress the observed and documented facts surrounding the topic that I have witnessed. I have to make sure all my bases are covered with the work I do, this mindset often finds its way into my everyday routine....I guess I like to make sure all the options are on the table to help ensure clear and concise decisions can be made. I often ramble on as well....
  21. Hello Cainon. I would imagine that in Dual, an army would be made by the players themselves. If you are a strategist and a leader, you could amass people underneath you to be in a militia. This militia could be absorbed by a larger community, or government with you heading up the military. It feels like Dual is going to rely heavily on the playerbase to build literal communities, but Dual also allows for small groups of players to achieve their own goals. It's really not too different from real life. I will most likely design build machines for a small camp that grows into a town that grows into a city that grows into a megalopolis that grows into a nation. Or build things for myself, sell them as a merchant/pirate
