  1. " For the time being, the ship system is going to be liquid fuel based. The "H2 Gas" symbol on the fuel tank in the video below is obvious. As Captain Twerk said, however, it's nothing to pay too much attention to. I must note that there will be mechanics tied to fuel tanks. According to JC: " ...different engines will need different fuel types. So this is one example. You will have to factor the weight of the fuel tank when designing the ship and make trade-offs between autonomy and speed for example. " Skip to 04:23. It is interesting that he doesn't mention fuel, but fuel tanks. Whether or not, you will be able to refuel mid-flight is more in the negative for the Alpha and possibly the Beta phase. But, it is safe to say -- in my opinion -- that refuelling avoids the need to disassemble parts of your ship. "
  2. " Nothing illegal. Kuritho's eyes must be playing tricks on him again. Although, I do say that the cause of those slight of the eyes might-- just might--be illegal. I'm insinuating, nothing at all. It's off-topic, after all. Looking at it from a purely objective view, this off-topic thread is quite on the point. As pointless as it may be... Cheers. "
  3. " (I speak for myself here, not The Aether) Your idea is a noble one, BenFargo and I repeatedly admire your designs and resolve to see the Blue Moon Crew through. If not for my membership and involvement with other alliances and organisations, I definitely would have signed up for the Blue Moon Crew. To be quite honest, you have put a lot of work into this idea of yours and hardly a fortnight passes without an update or new content for the Blue Moon Crew gracing the Community Portal. However, having a single ship and crew -- while it will have its many benefits -- is somewhat very risky. I'm glad that you took the foresight to join the CSYN for whatever reasons you may have, but a single ship in deep space is a prime target to roving packs of miscreants. Whether or not the Blue Moon Crew finds itself in wealth and success is irrelevant to me: you have my support--though it may amount to nothing more than verbal praise. I sincerely want to see the Crew succeed and I can't but wish both you and the Tempest the best. Try to garner support from the CSYN or other alliances and organisations. The more independent your crew shows itself to be, the more attractive it will be in the coming months. A lot of people flee from affiliation to large organisations and it's one of the reasons neutral groups are increasingly popular: it is very tiring to fight another person's war, especially if you have much to lose and little to gain. Many people don't even want to entertain the prospect of fighting or wasting resources on pointless wars. Nonetheless, it is quite easy for larger groups to promise safety and protection, even if they are words without substance. There is safety in numbers after all: the more populous a group, the better its chance of repelling attacks and keeping its "civilians" safe. Smaller groups have little or none of that assurance and the social level of such groups is also dwarfed by their larger counterparts. Not to forget, larger groups are more likely to stand the test of time, even if they lose members as water passes under the bridge. Sparsely populated groups, especially those without clear goals or unique ideas to offer (in most cases even groups that have both) tend to merge with one another, dissolve into well formed groups, or fade entirely into oblivion. It takes one or two more people to set the ball rolling for the Blue Moon Crew. I can only wish you the best and hope that you will grow to your desired population. Cheers. "
  4. " What would providing sponsorship to Tempest entail? I'm also curious as to what forms of donations and help will be acceptable. Cheers. "
  5. " For a more advanced, but definitely more rewarding software, I would recommend Blender and SketchUp. Both are somewhat tasking to learn, but they are definitely worth the trouble. With enough practise and guidance, you will be able to use either or both software to make professional designs and astounding pieces of art. Cheers. "
  6. " The story is a good take on a different perspective. It is a common assumption that everyone that steps out of the Novark is either an adolescent, adult or elder. It's a bold attempt that is very much underrated. Good work with the characters: very believable, but I doubt children would come up with such names! Not to forget, but if you do write another part, could you show some relation to their parents or guardians in Alioth. They kids do seem very independent, in some cases, unbelievably so! "
  7. Time to explore. Hopefully, I'll be back in time for the nest meetings.

  8. " My, my - feisty! Just don't start the first Dual Universe battle on The Aether's only thread and certainly not before the game comes out. There'll be plenty of time to settle scores and partake in skirmishes once Beta is out. Love your spirit, just don't go on "Killer mode" here. "
  9. " If your combat is half as good as your role play, I look forward to the Alpha. I believe Wilks was simply trying to shield those with no interest in combat and for the right price, I would do the same. Combat is in our blood and conflict is older than man. I'm anxious to see what people are capable of fielding in the Alpha - and more importantly whether their actions will be as heavy as their words. If I may be so bold, please keep up with this way of posting, Kuritho; it makes reading a lot more lively. "
  10. " It's a late reply, but welcome to the Forums, nonetheless. I'm no Pole, to be honest, but marax27 in The Aether is. "
  11. " Brethren in arms, bonded by will; children of the Aether, lords among men – today, we march onward. This day, we charge into strange lands. It is time to leave the comfort of our homes and the safety of familiar places. For it is now, that we answer the Call, it is now that our Journey begins. The Aether searched and found us. The Aether called and we answered. Now, we run onward for The Aether lives! Lords among men, the way ahead will not be easy. The path that we will tread is the path that none have walked before. Perhaps you think that an uncertain fate awaits us down this road…No. Our fate is secure; the path is uncertain. I see the faces of the young and ruddy, I see the faces of the old and worn. I see your gazes of hope and strength, but I feel the doubt within your hearts. Do not doubt! Do not fear! Our enemies feed on our fear and through our doubt they are made decisive. We were warned, were we not? The Aether is not for the weak of heart, she is not for the uncertain. The Brotherhood is not for those with weak roots, it is not for souls without conviction. The Aether did not pick children to follow her. She did not summon the feeble folk. She hailed those with hearts of stone, she reached out for those with unbreakable certainty, she searched for the unmovable and lifted the heads of men and women with fire in their eyes. This thorny and narrow road that none have dared to walk is and will forever be our highway. In our small numbers, there is great promise. In our ranks, I see those that will cheat Death time and time again. In our handful of creative minds, I see the answer to the worlds’ problems. In our explorers, I see bright pioneers that will disperse the darkness. In our scouts, I see fearless men and women that bring to light the unknown. In our harvesters, I see the wealth of the Universe. Our haulers hold the paths of the space and time in their minds. I look upon the warriors in our midst and I see the nemesis of our adversaries! What can hold us back? What can stop us? What can destroy us? Nothing. Nothing, but ourselves. In our decisions, lie the keys to our existence and to them are bound the chains of our death. There is no foe that can withstand us, there is no mountain that can block us, no valley that can hide us. There is nothing that can put us down! Unless we hand ourselves over to defeat. In unity, lies our strength, everything else comes after. If we, as brethren and lords among men can conquer our imperfections, none can withstand our advance! Look upon the lands! They are ripe for the taking. Look to the skies! They are but a hand’s breath away. Cast your eyes to the horizon! All is yours. Raise your gaze to the Universe beyond! It is time for you to reap! Let none take it from you! The blue skies, fertile lands, rich mountains, deep oceans, consuming deserts, freezing ice caps, the chilly tundra and the lush forests, the cattle upon a thousand hills and the wealth of all is yours…if you will take it. Care for none, but your own! Seek the welfare of no one but yourselves! The road will not be easy and the elements will not be in our favour. Expect no help from man: you will get none. Give no mercy to man, for they will grant no grace to you. In life, know no fear, in death entertain no doubts. In vengeance, don’t hold back! For any man that puts his hands to the plough and looks back is not worthy of joining our ranks. I see my brethren with the faces of lions and swift as the deer upon the hills. I see us with the wings of eagles and the fire of a thousand suns in our eyes. I hear our roars as the roar of a million oceans and I feel our zeal, surpassing even the fierceness of the wildest storms. Through uplifting victories and resounding defeats, through the rolling hills and steep mountains, through the gentle zephyrs and the violent storms, will we stand together? Will we stand united? For if we will, charge onward! Leave the safety of your homes behind and match the dread of the wilderness! Forget your families and your lands, abandon your castles and wealth! Leave the simple life and know the thrill that comes with being a child of The Aether. For The Aether is a huntress among hunters, turning predator into prey and feasting in the terror that lives in the eyes of her adversaries. Run upon the borders of factions and walk the delicate lines between nations. Don’t falter at the difficulty of the task, for by wise guidance you can wage your war. Protect our abstraction, for we are that grey in a world of black and white. With these hands, we will exalt the feeble that call on us and with these feet, we will tread upon the empires we are sent against! So brethren, sail upon the winds of change. Empires will rise and fall, power will continue its course, but we, the children of The Aether will ride upon the waves. In caring for our own, first and only, will we seek out the secret places of space and feast upon the spoils of the Universe. Cleanse the fear from your hearts! Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety. The time behind is, but the past. This day, we set out on our new life. Untold pleasures and riches await, only if we can persevere through the trials and storms that strengthen us. What doesn’t kill us, brothers and sisters will only make us stronger. Rejoice, children of the Aether! The worlds are at your feet. Go forth and take what is yours: the wealth of space and time. Aether Eterna; brothers and sisters. 12. " A true fighting spirit can never be subdued, not even by broken bones...or agreements...or Alpha tests. "
  13. " Why, thank you, Anonymous! I'm very pleased you found it interesting. There are many sites on the net that offer resources and I will suggest Royal Road Legends to you. It gives more examples of written work than tips on how to write. Thus -- in many cases -- it is up to the reader to judge what made a piece of lore interesting and what made it lacklustre. You'll find hundreds of books written by people from all works of life and I hope to add one of my books in the near future. Thank you once again, Anonymous, I wish you the best. Cheers. "
  14. " Welcome to the Forums, orionbeta. Without a doubt, I believe you will receive quite a few PMs in no time at all. I look forward to seeing more of you on the Forums - and eventually, in the game. Cheers. "
  15. " My, my. The Hill lives...Now this leaves me in a tight spot. The Hill can eat people, but I still want to live this planet. Oh, well. I climb the Hill and sit down...again. At least, if I die, I'll resurrect before too long. Don't you eat me Hill. I'll mow your grass. "
  16. " It's been an interesting month so far - I dare say it's a sign of great things to come. With two new members and good subjects to talk about, a revamped Forums site and Christmas just round the corner, the spirit of the season is well at work. The Aether also had the pleasure of welcoming two new members. Needless to say, she's had her hands full and new members are bright stars in the night sky. We welcome Tatsunobu and Brucie22 to the Aether. Welcome to the Family. Aether Eterna; Always and Forever. "
  17. " You're welcome. It's an artwork by MacFixed on Deviant Art here: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Industrial-453833529 Clicking on the image will also take you to the site. "
  18. " Yes, that it is. "Famous Writer" is the title, if I remember correctly. "
  19. "The funny thing is: I didn't even stay on the Hill. Tsk, I should have stayed though, I'd be off the planet and home."
  20. "Close, close, but not that close. You almost made it off, didn't you? Awoken from my deep unconscious slumber of over a day, I rub my head and quickly realise that the time's almost up. I hurl the last of the chair pieces at you, knocking the you out cold. Then, I push you off the Hill, following you all the way down. Let's see who'll be next to climb the Hill. "
  21. [OBSOLETE] " For the sake of posterity, I will note it down here...again. We do not consider it pleasing to turn away applicants to the Aether. We are in no hurry to grow, yes -- but that doesn't mean we don't want to. Before you drop an application for Aether membership, please, please and please: Create a Forum Account first. After you do that, please send a copy of the application letter to any of the following Aether members on the Forums: Aetherios, ATMLVE, CosmicDragon, Deacon, Shogun or Roninmizu. If you’re Russian, send a message to ignorer and he’ll speak to you, the Russian way. If you’re Polish send a message to marax27. If you’re French, drop by Sylvius and if you’re Belgian, inferiormartin will cater to your needs. The reason is simple: we check the Forums more often than the Community Portal. Until the message notification on the Community Portal is fixed, the Forums will be the number one spot to contact the Aether members. Three steps: Create a Forum Account. Send in an application on the Community Portal. Message a copy of the application to any of the names above. It's easy, it's simple and it doesn't require voice interviews or signing up to some other website. We've had to turn down a lot of applications, simply because the interested applicants didn't follow the instructions. That said, The Aether gives the priority to unique applicants. In other words, we are more inclined towards people in no other organisation than we are to migrating organisation members. The reasons are many and obvious, but for now, the Aether won't take in any members from other organisations except the Earldom of Mercia, the Allied Corporate States, Kulelen Securities and Novacore. If you come from another organisation and still insist on applying, a simple message on the Forums will be the first and right step: we aren't cold or hostile people, we just want to stay out of external politics, meta gaming and focus on our fun, not the fun of others. Cheers. "
  22. " As you sit on the Hill, I sneak up behind you and knock you unconscious with a piece of the chair in my hands. "Karma, man. Karma. I only want survive." I say, pushing you down the Hill. "It's nothing personal!" I shout after you. Then, I take my seat, shifting from side to side to avoid being caught in my blind spot. The Timer resets again and I sigh. "This is going to take a while..." "
  23. "Hm, Lethys...What mystical powers of piracy does a ship wrecked survivor have? --Let's just keep it simple before people start summoning stars and moons, demons and angels, spaghetti and pizza!" "But, yet you have failed to depose the current King, have you not? "Thank you, fellow Survivor." I say, jerking the chair from under you. Still sitting, I work to disassemble the chair into separate pieces. Once that is done, I hurl a piece of the chair at you. As it is, I am still the King of the Hill: None have succeeded in pushing me off from it or convincing me to abandon the Hill. Lucky for me, I have just over 7 hours more to discover whether or not the Note was lying. "
