  1. You're god damn right!! <insert Walter White Meme here> If someone can find me / make me something like that I would be a standard customer and purchase it off them at a reasonable price...................
  2. Ahh, you're probably thinking about the post that mentioned the position of the thrusters on the constructs will have a bearing on what direction your ship moves. So if you have only thrusters on the front of your ship it will only pitch up ect.. Is that the one you mean ?
  3. I'd like to know this as well.. I did ask about how the resources would replenish, but never thought about new people building anything. You are quite right with the concern, and I've not read anything that gives a answer to your question other than, if it's outside the Arksite, you can just remove it unless it's inside a TU which new people won't have.
  4. Yeah, i'm going to be with Alex here. Any additional places on the forums would just cause clutter, then you have to think of 'how many' there are going to be with all the new guilds that are being created. Could end up with 100+ sub forums, and they might not even be active. Unless you meant something else entirely ?
  5. If having merchandise affects the game, I'd rather not have it and have a better game, but I'd still like to have something, so I'd probably look for permission to use the DU logo's ect to make my own T-Shirt or something...

    Moving a planet

To be honest, i was thinking about this before and if there is fully orbiting mechanics where planets orbit suns, and moons orbit planets ect.. I'm totally fine with not moving a planet, because no game i've seen/played yet has this in it, (other than non-sandbox games like kerbal) But i'm still wanting to claim an asteroid that i can then use as a space station or crash into someones frigate.. Or even steal for the resources by crashing it into my home planet.
  7. So since people understand the concern, would it be down to figuring out a method that would work and wouldn't impact immersion or the gameplay now? Or are people against having some form of protection for the lower level/smaller groups of people ?
  8. You got rewards for being in the alpha team ? .... Where can i sign up for this Alpha Team ???? Obviously joking as i know Nyz picked all you guys .. But still, i like to have things from games so: -Cups -T-Shirts -3D models -Mouse Mat -Mouse -Things -Shiny box -Stickers ? Things....I love things...
  9. I kind of hope momentum is going into the game, otherwise having a big ship hit a smaller ship will be a interesting collision.
  10. Hasn't this been more or less confirmed by Nyz as a replacement to the standard third person view?.. I know Nyz has confirmed cameras on ships for different view points, but if them camera work elsewhere I dunno, (although everything is a construct so I don't see why not)
  11. I'm not going to start being loud in this thread, but you've got to remember not everyone is going to join a guild. So there will be single players going the game solo, and if any other MMOs I've played is any indications the majority will join a guild but then do things by themselves anyway.
  12. Yeah, I'm with slaxx here. If your going to meme the forums at least put a 'link' instead of just the image or hide it under spoilers or something... Scrolling down past images just makes the forums look horrible.
  13. I'm with saffi, I'm not in favor of it being shown that someone found and named the area, if there is something it should be buried down. I would have liked the idea if the player start was scattered across the universe, but since everyone starts on Alioth this will basically make every system planet around Alioth named by the first group to get space fly/FTL. If planets were scattered yes, but single player stay I say no.
  14. As someone who's never played eve (other than a 5min tutorial) I don't kown what you mean. However, to try and answer you, DU has no limits, you can have 100,000 players standing in the same building and any bottlenecks in travels routes will have to have been designed by players. Everything other than the arkship (and aliens ruins or rare locations ect) will be created by players, so any sections where you could abuse being, what I think is invisiblility, will be player designed. And I'm sure the devs won't include a OP mechanic that can generally be just abused. Hope any of that helps
  15. How How did did you you delete delete them them ?? :O
  16. I'm all for the safety aspects of the game, as long as it can be worked in without damaging immersion to much. I've been very vocal in another thread about the safety of vulnerable people to raiding, and I've thought about the safety of creations out in the wild. I do agree than protection of constructs should be present maybe, if it can be worked in, because there was another game I played that had no protection to created buildings and you almost became unable to log off or build anything because your creations were gone the next time you logged in, or all of your items were gone and you'd have to start over, other than the few items you had on your person. And I really don't want to have to deal with the issue of when you log off for the night you could log back on the next day to an empty plot of land. That in my book is not fun.
  17. Nice idea with the reputation and npc sales prices and all that being affected. Could work something out to affect the overall organisation too, so that you totally are working together and your actions have consequences to everyone... The only reason I'm being picky and want to have some system that deters raiding randomly is because I can't help thinking about low population organisations or single players being pointlessly raided by powerful organisations. I'm imagining there is going to be a lot of people who are playing solo, or are just playing with a small group of friends. As well there is going to be people who just want to raid small groups of people because that's how they enjoy the game. I'm only thinking that if solo people or small groups of people get raided and lose there items its going to be very annoying, and potentially rage-quit inducing. Think about it, you're just in the middle of nowhere minding your own business trying to set up a small house and in comes a bunch of raiders and kill you. Not to bad the first time, but you've lost items and they've gained items. Few hours pass and you've got back to where you were and low and behold the raiders are back again, kill you again and you lose more items.. Since the raiders could be based in the same area as you this could be a rinse and repeat thing. I just think there has to be some protection for people who want to have a more calmer experience in DU than having to worry about raiders and looking over there shoulders all the time. This isn't DayZ, but without some sort of system to protect lesser people/groups it will be, because 'why not' kill them and take there stuff.. Everyone you meet you might as well just shoot and take their stuff everytime...
  18. Yeah, I've had that on in the background so many times since I found it..
  19. If I'm on my own land and I'm raided out of the blue, no. I'd very much like to keep my items. If I'm raiding someone, hell I've chosen to raid them, I wouldn't care if i lost my entire inventory, raiding someone was my choice and i knew the consequences. I just think if you don't lose items on your own claim, it saves the people who aren't going to raid from being screwed over by some nasty people.
  20. I've not seen anything about it but will there be merchandise, and if so what will there be?.. Every game I've played and has gripped me, I've bought T-Shirts and little trinkets from it ect.. Not really sure what else to write, it's kinda of a direct question... but kind of interested to know if there will be anything.
  21. Clean slate for me. Completely against the lore if we all start the game on launch day if there are buildings around that players have made, or if players are already flying about in space ships.. I'm going to put all of my eggs in the 'wipe for game launch' basket.
  22. Nothings stopping you from looting the area once you take it. Or attacking a ship for its cargo, i simply mean only the player inventory that doest get effected whilst they are on their own claim. It is their claim after all.. anyway, TU's are supposed to be expensive, so this wouldn't be every place you go to loot, only the main bases maybe, and it will only affect players, not chests and buildings Also, i'm not sure if there is going to be ground items, no-where is it mentioned about how we will interact with loot, will it be inventory only or will it appear on the ground.
  23. (TU = Territory Unit, look it up if you don't know what it is) This is only a half fleshed out idea, so bare with me.. I was thinking before about respawning and being raided on your own properties, and that if i'm raided on my own property and die, i'd be very annoyed given that some organisations will get the point where they are so big you just can't stop them, and in turn theres nothing preventing me from continuous loss of items from being killed by said organisation. What protection to a player is available from big organisations that could just steam-roll entire planets just because they can? I was thinking that maybe Item loss from being killed should only happen outside your own TU influence, so if you get raided and killed inside your own area by a large organisation you don't lose anything, as it is your home. But the people raiding you will lose items as it is not their home. This could be expanded a little where Open world you lose a few items on death, not a massive amount but just enough to make it a 'should i attack and risk losing stuff' situation and not a 'oh if i lose it's only a couple items' situation so that the open world PvP is not just full of killing on sight as there is a risk to it. The next part could be that raiders of a TU could lose MORE items, so if you die inside a TU that is not your own you run the risk of losing a lot of items which gives a slightly higher risk to raiding someone and you would need to make sure you are doing it for a benefit and not just doing it because you can. Obviously this doesn't fix the organisations that just want to ruin peoples day, but it's kind of a start of an idea. Obviously this doesn't affect ATU's as they are the same as arksites and non-PvP allowed. But this will always be a concern of mine until we know more as so far I know of no proper way (that's been confirmed) to stop organisations just completely taking over the game and preventing new or low level people doing anything, potentially ruining the game for a lot of people.
  24. To be honest, i was thinking about this last night, and it doesn't really matter what words we put around any FTL engines or methods, the Devs will have a way to code it into the game that works both the easiest and the best performing, what we're doing here is just kinda lore'makeing. I'd be surprised if anything we said here influenced the way FTL's are planned to work in the Dev's work book, but we can always think of the reasons behind 'why' they work for lore and maybe create a unintentionally awesome weapon out of Obi's engine .. But then again anything in the game is 10,000 years after the first arkship took off, so the AI could have been working on new tech while we're asleep and anything is kinda possible when you think about it like that... 100 years ago we didn't have TV's.. what could we have in 10,000 years?....... ooo that makes me shiver!
  25. Welcome zen001, don't like about the double posting, you're just to excited and had to have twice as much space to say it didn't you?.. haha but yeah, this thread is cursed or something... the last three people have double posted and I don't think by choice, even I've double posted elsewhere... we're all cursed!
