Like Lethys' comment above, he has been bashing the game in these forums for years, just generally being an ass and counter productive.  I have no idea why he is still here in this game or in these forums.  You think he would be trying find joy somewhere else by now.

Im ruby. Lifetime sub. You're stuck with me

And please tell me where that Statement I made was "bashing the game" or where in that statement I am being an ass or counterproductive

They already addressed this issue though.  Technically they only mentioned "parenting" a ship to move it outside the safezone without the owner's permission.

But you don't expect NQ to predict every possible exploit and include it in the EULA do you?

It's pretty obvious that if figuring out one way to move a players ship outside the safezone to destory it, is against the rules, then figuring out another way to do the same thing, would also be against the rules.

I agree, in general NQ should be clearer about this kind of stuff.

But this situation is crystal clear.

    There was no "parenting" involved.

Say you are flying from madis to alioth at 30km and do alt+f4. I come to your ship. According to JC: if you see it and it moves, it continues to move.

Now they have a limitation(or a bug) that you don't start calculating physics of the ship you see until you jump on it.

If you jump on it, it continues to fly as it should and will eventually leave the safezone.

What is an exploit here ?

You left a ship that was heading to PVP space, it got to PVP space and got blown up.

If you dock it to space station(real one built on space core, not one that looks like space station but is in fact a dynamic core) it will stay there and not move.

    What's the problem?

So yeah, I expect them to change eula accordingly

Ok.. as a new player i finally understand why o.23 killed the player base..

"Specialize and use the markets" *boot to the head with schematics*

I came in after schematics so I didnt get what all the fuss was about.

Ok.. I have been specializing and have some t4/t5 refining and smelting and basic parts lines up.. I mine ore, refine, produce low level parts from t3 and t4 ores and materials... good mid level products...time to start using the market

What? The lag is so bad its basically unusable? It would take riddiculous time just to go around and put my stuff for sale

What, all the high level stuff is built by god like tychoons with full production lines that dont buy anything but ore?

    So I'm left thinking..

    I FINALLY GET IT!!

I was defending this game and arguing that people must have been cry babies overreacting, cause I was making progress in specializing... I just hadn't got to the point where I was ready to sell yet....as soon as I tried to "take my wares to market" I realized instead of creating an economy of specialists.. all they did was creat an economy of elite industry tycoons and ore mining peasents

At least before 0.23 I could have said...oh well.. if the markets and economy are unusable I'll just make my own stuff and have fun

So........you didn't look at markets FIRST to see what the fuss was all about and then defended the game because ppl who DID look at the market first were telling you how it is but you thought they're crybabies?

Who doesnt look at the market first when you decide what to produce? Lmao, that's golden

I mean, guess it's good that you finally realised your mistake

You keep making sure again and again to tell us that you deleted this game months ago and that you don’t even play the game because it’s beneath you and the community is beneath you.

so how would you know what the game plays like right now?

Yes, I don't play this game anymore but I still log in from time to time to see where it's at. And from this I see that it still lags and doesn't play out well as MMO because of low fps

Never said this community is beneath me, That's just your bias and wanting to Paint me a certain way.

I love that we have a CM come in and say that "we are planning quite a few communications about the state of the game and where we're going over the next while.". However well intended this comment is I'm sure. Historically this is NQ-speak for "we will start announcing new stuff soon".

They do that since 2016 or so. Occasional drop in to "announce Big things" which then is forgotten, not done or abandoned after the initial "omg. OMG. That is SO cool!" Thing from the community

How can having the high data DU constructs on the clients computer allow someone to miss behave?  My point is to have these permanent game related constructs already on the client which will make rendering faster as well as save the client download data.  Unless I missed a subtle aspect of the game in your post.

Its the opppsite really atm. I can easily enter bases with my "slow" Internet because all the stuff hasnt loaded yet. Just gotta be fast enough and bam, you're in their base and just wait for stuff to load

  7. 10 minutes ago, Haunty said:

You have to download constructs and terrain changes and it's not a small amount of data. It shouldn't stay high usage if you're just sitting in one area, once it is done loading it should stop, which is what happens for me when I measure it, but for slow internets it might essentially be constant.

If 80mbit is slow then I wish du good luck finding players who can actually enjoy it with no lag lmao.

As long as server lag and loading isn't solved, there wont be the civ building going on

Thanks for letting us know. The team is looking into this, but if anyone else wants to add any scenarios they've noticed this, please do.

Support had logs and everything about this since 2019, not a new issue. Support knew 2 years ago already

I don't want TCUs on Alioth to be related to Energy management

Yes! I want my megafactory which is 100% safe to not use any energy either so that I can produce stuff 24/7, 100% safe, with no risk and no energy cost too! Gotta have to be cheaper then those ppl who produce stuff outside the safezone. Content generating plebs, yuck

Lethys, I see this as well when connected to a different network I have.  Are you seeing an increase in your total usage?

when I was afk in DU and just stood around, I couldn't even browse the web. Some bandwidth tool (forgot the name) showed constant 5mb/sec download from DU from some AWS server.

Haven't played nor tested since then tho, so don't know if this persists nowadays.

But I notice a high download from DU when I start it to update my talents

  11. This was always the case and the reason I can't really play without lag, or at least start the game for 5min for talents every other month. My maximum is 5-8mb/sec which is always used by DU, constantly. Can't get more bandwidth here, so I guess until they solve that it's a game for 100mbit+ users

sweet talk it was much as you guys want, but all atv folks are jointly responsible to the state as it is.

Ah yes. The ATV that NQ couldn't be bothered to listen to.

Nor even bothered to answer basic questions about what they want to do next or how this new mechanic should play out

YOU wish ME luck? That's rich, mate.
You're the one with over 5000+ posts. Not me... I really don't understand why you would waste your time with "toxic" people you are clearly superior to.. (being part -as you are- of the innately and eternally superior EVE community by your own words)...

Also, I am having fun playing the *game* on a daily basis.   You are the one who clearly thinks it's not a game by paraphrasing it...
You really and clearly need to find a hobby rather than trying to belittle everyone. Very sad.

Love the salt here about ppl whining about others stealing their stuff. It's hilarious. And I love ppl trying to give very bad argunents (mimimimi rl money loss) to justify their reasoning. It's way more fun to read all this then play a boring game where all ppl do is build shiny stuff just to show off but no real benefit in having any of that.
