  1. Void already wrote some more about problems with SP integration (even IF they do it, you wouldn't be able to do anything big) Ok, obviously you didn't understand my last question. As already debated earlier in some builder thread (or ideas - can't remember) about the "creative mode" when you build (online!) in a safe zone for example: I want to avoid people standing around everywhere, not moving at all, not interacting at all and not doing anything, because they are in that creative mode where they build ships and create blueprints. That's what I meant. And again: I really don't understand that point. DU has no SP planned, so the devs would have to put manpower in it. Why would they do that? where's the benefit of wasting resources? Test your constructs in that creative mode (they said: possibly later with a little fly simulation) What does "wasting online time" mean? You waste time anyhow! Waisting resources in a MMO is the whole point of an economy - if you can't deal with losing 500.000 iron, then don't do it. You won't waste much resources anyway because all you could do in SP would be building small ships because you need people for manning bigger ships. Plans that don't work lead to HILARIOUS consequences (consequences are the best part about sandboxes) You can do all that online, I really don't get what benefit you hope for from SP
  2. You see that too in the mining/scanning devblog video from december
  3. Zusätzlich wäre noch zu sagen, dass DU Pay to Play sein wird. Ergo musst du monatlich ca. 13€ zahlen, um zu spielen. Oder du nimmst diese 11 DACs. Sind die weg, zahlst du
  4. I like this idea - truck stop at the end of the universe with a diner Maybe those gas stations are only viable for some time because eventually raw fuel will run out on that asteroid and it's too much effort to carry it there. So you could end up with abandoned stations which probably will be used as military staging points or something. I don't think the devs go for a 'realistic' setup of the universe because it wouldn't be fun - resources would be scarce and everyone would just be fighting over that little what is in the ground or on asteroids. Let alone the huge nature of the universe, even when scaling down by a factor of 100000, is too big. So compromises have to be made in order to make this game fun for everyone
  5. Well I brought up serious concerns about SP and none of them were adressed and discussed. To me, those points kill all arguments about a stand alone SP version, so feel free to prove me wrong
  6. Welcome to the community. As already mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/user/dualthegame https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-DRi77Q1S7ODGCny1bUIhA https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/forum/2-rules-announcements/ - all devblogs / AMA http://dualuniverse.gamepedia.com/Dual_Universe_Wiki
  7. Exactly. Such scripts have to foster emergent gameplay and teamplay, not lonesome wolfs. I would love to see such scripts where a smaller gang can do pretty well (not as fast/good as a huge org because of numbers but still) in using intelligent scripts to get an edge but at the same time they need a dedicated team to do so
  8. I think there will be sites like in eve (news, history, leaked org chats/logs/mails,...) and probably even some kind of twitter - who knows? But I agree with void: please no eve like meta where it gets pretty paranoid pretty fast
  9. Hi there and welcome to the community. Look in offtopic - some games have already been started. The most interesting one is what void posted: the metagame
  10. Well yeah, that's how governments work. They have more power than you.... If an org seizes control of one or more tiles and has the manpower to police all that then they can declare iron as contraband, why not? The ones with the bigger guns will make the laws in those tiles and if you want to live there because they protect you, you have to abide their laws. If you don't agree, leave. It's not like one org will have control over one whole planet, because for that you'd need way way way more than thousands of players. And even IF they can police all that, guess what happens: black markets for iron
  11. They already consider that idea with that online creative mode. Plus you have to consider way more than just ,it should be considered': - will those people playing SP log in to the MMO part or just stay in SP? So the online part loses all players who don't want to interact with the community at all. Even if it's only a small percentage, it's bad imho - will those SP players still P2P? - with this creative mode: do we get player zombies standing around in the ark zone, not interacting, because they build something?
  12. To my defense (and the very high risk of getting slapped by Cybrex): i never saw force awakens
  13. I missed the reference. I don't troll in here, obviously
  14. IF there are such energy sources (higher output but they damage something), I think some orgs might ban them. But those will most likely not run anywhere near such sites so...yeah that's that but I see your point. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think twerk is up for something like: there's no need to ban certain items in a game when those items don't do anything bad (like drugs that increase some stats and decrease others) so there is no real drive there to ban anything. So the only viable and true lesson here is that a black market most likely only circumvent taxes. A huge outpost might have everything you need but at a 25% increased price (because the market needs to buy fuel for the shield and pay people to run it) so some players make fortunes by importing stuff and selling it at a 15% higher price.
  15. Because it makes no sense. A Parsec doesn't define time but distance
  16. Ok, so the forum doesn't need you either - calling out on a reasonable suggestion (to wait on what is implemented and then work from there) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  17. Rights and duty management system: https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/272-devblog-rights-duty-management-system-rdms/page-1
  18. I suspect there will be an element for that. Because you need that too for markets (as they said in various interviews). So those wares actually need physical space to be sold and picked up. That said, that warehouse element could be used as personal storage too. To be safe either - store your assets in the ark zone - build a territory claim unit, claim land, build a shield there to prevent anyone to harm you there (can still be destroyed) and config your RDMS in a way that noone can take your stuff - hide your stuff Orgs can use that RDMS system too to hinder people taking the stuff of other org members and all other players outside of that org. If you can't build a TCU or shield then you probably want to hire guards to look after your stuff while you are not in-game. That will be actually a good way to earn money: build a safe haven (station, TCU, shield whatever) and ask money for defending other people's stuff. That's emergent gameplay
  19. Ah now you said the right thing. Your first answers suggested that in DU there won't be combat, piracy, wars and such things and only now we know your real issue with it not being "serious": FPS in the sense of player skill involved. If that's less serious or not depends on the player's taste tbh. Some prefer instances in a game and realistic combat, others rather have a single world where every action they take could have consequences for the rest of the community. Edit: To be more precise: I wouldn't call it serious, it's just a difference because of the scope of either game and due to technical limitations. So it's more a compromise and taste of gameplay really than anything else
  20. Well noone ever said DU and SC compete in any way. 1) DU is lock on target and no FPS. No player skill involved, only statistics So all your points are invalid, because thats not what DU wants to be. And IF you would have watched the videos, read the devblogs and read the forum you'd know that all my points were not mere dreams but actual goals - PVP will be implemented for release and CVC too, if those 650k crowdfunding is achieved. If not, we'll get it with the first major patch. So yes to all my points. Speaking of optimism and scepticism: I could say the same about SC and their various problems there and shitstorms, but I won't because I never spoke of SC in the first place and this is not a SC forum
  21. It's about rebuilding society. So there's the need for creating constructs, ships, cities, stations but also it involves politics, wars over land, wars over people, wars over power, piracy, scams, player run markets, and much more. You can diminish DU to only the building and creative part but then again I can say eve online is only about HighSec mission running and pve. Both is just wrong
  22. Well and what hinders you in DU to do EXACTLY that? It's a open world sandbox - you can do whatever you want and you can make money with whatever the player run market needs
  23. Still can't see why my opinion is not productive, as you have no idea what will be implemented. But I'll leave it at that
  24. A yeah. That's why there's a forum to discuss things... You don't have to agree to other opinions but at least accept that different people have different opinions. If you can't, then you clearly have no idea what a forum is about. I'm sure twerk can give you some linguistic update of the word
  25. Welcome to the community I think you underestimate DU here as less serious, but fair enough. Gl and have fun watching all the videos and reading the blogs
