  1. ( i just typed in oh no and copied a link :D, still works!)
  2. i think NQ should not allow Dynamic core placement on market tiles and should outright remove any advertisement/spam constructs on market tiles, its atrocious and needs to be dealt with, fuel depots and shops are fine, but NO ADs or spying birds!!
  3. wow, thank you all for the entertaining, and detailed responses :D, i feel loved with how many ppl are talking here
  4. as someone who was diagnosed with autism at an early age, @iNFiDeL i would kindly ask you stop. we crashed your in game event, so what? none of that is the same as shaming someone with a real disability. thanks for showing out of game respect at least should you stop
  5. Hello, i was on one of the ships crashing the SW pvp event and generating content, was a lot of fun and i really hope that NQ brings more opportunity to do more pirate themed stuff GF AC, and all who attended see yall next time -EL X a statement from our leader: "Hello everyone, Sylva, leader of Band Of Outlaws here. This thread, the official DU discord and the Memeserver have all gotten a lot of traffic and I thought I would drop by and leave some of my thoughts here for you all. I acknowledge and understand that the Star Wars fans who created the event feel that we, BOO and some of our allies, when crashing their event yesterday, "ruined it." And yes, Skilo has it right when he says that we did it because we could. Those of you who are arguing against the Star Wars IP being in the game... well, tbh, I love Star Wars, it has inspired more than one generation of space dreamers, and hopefully, many more to come. That having been said, there is more to this story (and hopefully, for the story of Dual Universe). We originally had someone sign up for the Star Wars event who was building a legit PvP meta Star Wars ship. At the time, I was advised that we were also giving info to the Star Wars group on how to build PvP meta ships, and that advice was generally not followed/heeded. As the date loomed closer it became apparent that the ship, according to our standards, was only about 10% complete, and so our member withdrew from the Star Wars event. We then heard that ATOM was being paid to provide security for the event, and that was when we decided to party crash it. The thing is, when you look at what Dual Universe intends to be, a civilization building game - there should, in my opinion, player made safe zones in which events like this could be held in. This is an event that you would hold in the heart of an area that has an enforced edge of space, so pirate incursions would be few and far between (and not be without repercussions). We very much support this. We expect to be hunted down because of our actions. We will be disappointed if we aren't. We already don't hunt the small fries. We already do not pursue freighters and small ships. We have historically only hunted the larger org tagged ships. Our groups already PvP against each other. We haven't done a PvP event since the End of the World event in December. Since then we have only had solos and small groups go out for PvP, which has still been few and far between. Mostly we have been doing the same as everyone else, recovering from the .23 patch, mining, industry, and building more ships. We got bored. We crashed the party and ruined a lot of hard work, and for what? Some laughs... and hoping to fight some ATOM and some hopefully buffed Star Wars capital ships. As to the idea of waiting for DU to grow more... you may very well get what you request. BOO has diversified our gaming interests. We are playing Valheim, Starbase, and Last Oasis in addition to Dual Universe now. Don't worry though, we're still around and will still be active in Dual Universe. We will sporadically come out and throw down. So try to be prepared for us. Build meta ships. Bring your friends. You don't know when we will strike. Prepare for the changes that are coming. " - Sylva, on page 5 of this thread
  6. polishing things like missions, player markets, and the actual PVP system to not be point and click would be great before TW, and would make sense
  7. I agree whole heartedly, however this begs a question, does NQ warn us when this update drops or no? there are pros and cons to both: if they warn us: -we get a chance to prepare and move our stuff into position or out of the crossfire, but also leaves out a lot of surprise, which can be good and bad -everyone can speculate on the most valuable claims, which is also 2 sided -people will feel delighted to hear NQs transparency if they dont: -everything is sudden which brings thrill and a surge of player activity -claims will be fought for instead of diplomatically arranged -NQ will strike again with crappy transparency regardless, im excited for this game to get all the crap ironed out
  8. a thread i created that was aggressive in nature but sparked a good conversation got out of hand when an individual exposed a LinkedIn profile of an NQ employee. Naunet has since closed said topic due to that one persons comment. my words and opinions stand on my original thread, but i feel NQ is right for closing it because more exposure could in-sue and i don't want that, my original thread was to criticize not to attack/assault NQ. I think NQ are good people, and should be treated as such, regardless of the games state, we are all human. again, i apologize. (edit, said criticism in the original thread has been acknowledged by NQ, thank you for your honesty)
  9. https://www.buffed.de/Dual-Universe-Spiel-57410/Specials/6-Monate-Beta-1366842/ ^^ source article Buffed.de, mostly known for WOW articles, has written a few pieces on DU before, and have been mostly positive. However, I and a few friends saw a part in a translated version of this article that stated something that could bring a set of attention to DU that is not needed at this time, that is until NQ fix their game. 1st section: "the world comes alive": "Although the rush was already high at the beginning of the beta phase, more and more players were added over time and slowly but surely filled the world of Dual Universe. That had several positive effects on the game. For one thing, the world feels much more alive now. We no longer only encounter strange players in the central marketplaces of Alioth, the largest of the planets, but everywhere in the universe. Even the tiny moons of smaller planets on the edge of the solar system are now well populated." keep in mind this was written on 02/13/2021, and right now that 3rd sentence cannot be any more wrong, alioth is a ghost town, madis and thades are abandoned, and any other planet besides maybe ion and lacobus have basically no inhabitants. That is all because of .23 and the major screw up NQ had. i might be blowing it out of proportion, but you get the jist'. 2nd section: "Large organizations have grown": "But it's not just the individual players that make the world come alive. Giant organizations have been set up and grown over the months. Huge factories that produce spaceships on an assembly line and are operated by dozens of players are not uncommon. Huge freight transporters fly from moon to moon with a crew of several men, buy cheap resources there and deliver them to the many thousands of players who have established their home on Alioth. There is organized trade, a flourishing industry, and the first political intrigues between the largest of the organizations." "giant organizations"... what, like 100-200 active players making up 5 different major orgs? compared to the 30K ish+ we had since launch in total? (in reference to sanc moon tiles), if you go to any market in the game, even the district markets on alioth, they are all dead, no one visits them anymore. 3rd section: "Schematics ensure more trade" "The schematics in particular are responsible for the flourishing of trade. In the alpha and at the beginning of the beta, everyone was still able to produce everything, provided they had the resources and had the appropriate industrial equipment built beforehand, is no longer possible. More complex modules, which you cannot manufacture in your personal nanocrafter, but only in industrial plants, now require a so-called schematic. This is practically a set of instructions that you can use to explain to your industrial plant which module is manufactured and how. Without a schematic, even the most sophisticated production line is just a pile of scrap metal. You can get the schematics on the marketplaces for a chunk of the in-game currency Quantas. The more complex the module, the more expensive the schematic. You also need a separate schematic for each system. Anyone who wants to manufacture silicon from quartz in ten melting systems not only needs ten systems, but also ten schematics - which can quickly turn into money in large factories." Excuse me, what? Anyone who has played the game most likely quit over schematics, or permanent destruction. why? schematics are 1. expensive, 2. tedious to setup, and 3. has almost entirely killed production of any goods not tier one. when schematics came out, a 7m item (anti-gravity generator S) had a schematic required to build it worth hundreds of millions, now that schematic is worth 76m as of the time of writing this, 10x the items worth is fair, ok, but the way they implemented them was ridiculous. you can read more on the article and see for yourself, but here is something i noticed, none of that was labeled as opinion... i have the feeling this was a commissioned article by NQ to Buffed.de, if it was, I read someone say that its illegal by German law to publish paid pieces, however i may be incorrect. (correction, if the article is noty labeled as a sponsored article and its found out to be then it is illegal, no where on the article does it mention sponsorship) regardless of the legality, NQ needs to come clean because if this was paid that is scummy, make me feel like this game was a cash grab. NQ I'm begging you, come clean and stop hiding that your game is dying, you still have a chance to dig out of the hole you made, please!
  10. i think its fair to act "innocent until proven guilty" for this patch, NQ has undergone alot of shit during .23 and we need to motivate them for .24 where we expect improvement but arent bashing, i personally am very excited and cannot wait
  11. several people have mentioned it and NQ hasn't said anything, just was wondering what's going on?
  12. i meant with the "excellent" statement, my bad i should have clarified
  13. I think snipey was being sarcastic, and is on a similar page you are. yep, well put (also perma destruction contributed alot)
  14. i think its important the community speaks to how they feel in a survey, i value this game lots and i bet all of you still have some value for this game.
  15. yes and no, i heard something and wanted everyone elses opinions, so there ya go. i hope it doesn't happen, but i must say NQ is shooting for long term stability, and it is their game to succeed or fail, we are just here for the ride and to rate the ride. contradicting what i said before with the ride analogy, i do care alot about this game and would hate to see a wipe, but not my call yes for everything besides the talent stuff, talent points should be carried over in a unallocated pool like when they last reset talent points, and the longer training curve is a maybe, idk. faucets and sinks in balance are important in this games economy as they should be in any economy agreed, agreed my friend.
  16. also to clarify, im not new to the game, ive been around since beta start and am relatively seasoned, credibility isn't a big deal for me though, i trust my source and i love to question people so feel free to question me
  17. Disclaimer: THIS IS A: R U M O R E D Piece of insider information, there is no hard proof of any NQ reps saying this will happen, im just puting this info out. (DONT SHOOT AT ME FOR REPORTING, but feel free to criticize my views :D) for given obvious privacy and conspiracy prevention reasons, I cannot reveal my source, with that out of the way: This wipe is supposedly planned to take place when (NQ) implement the new PVP system that they have been working on, apparently some mechanics/additions are requiring this wipe to be put on the table. Another contributing factor is that NQ has repeatedly felt like the game advanced for players too quickly and they didn't get some of their mid-game features in as everyone was focused on endgame. My views on this are plain and simple, i care about this game and will stick with it as long as i can, NQ has said they will avoid a wipe, but if it needs to happen for the good of the game, just carry over Blueprints and talent points, that's all i ask. Otherwise keep the game as is and don't wipe if you can avoid it.
