  1. Since nobody has answered yet, I'll try. I only just came back after a 9 month break, so, I may well be wrong. 1) It used to be that if you logged out your ship would stop and remain stationary (not sure if is still like that). This was originally done (I think) because crashes were frequent and people were losing their ships. 2) Its possible that the thing you ran into was a Space core. A space core is used for building a space station. They are basically static cores that provide their own gravity field. If you stand on that core or on your ship if its attached to it, then you will snap to it and be able to walk on it. 3) Not sure if it happens any more but some pirates used to put up screens of voxels (attached to a space core). They would be spaced fairly far apart so they were hard to see but it only took one voxel to debilitate a fast moving ship 4) You probably need somebody else to give you a ride. Maybe somebody on Jago could help.
  2. Wow. Crumbs, I was under the impression a site would produce about 800L per day. 18k would be over a million quanta in one day would it not?
  3. Thanks Cergorach, I came back a few days ago after a 9 month break. I have 17 territories scattered around the system. Its going to take time to get to them all so, I want to prepare a mining station blueprint. You have sort of put a spanner in the works by informing me that there are different auto miners for different tiers. I bet the tier 5 ones will be pricey too.
  4. Thanks you thats some good intel. Raaziel, with the 7 units you have on Alioth, can you remember how many total litres you were collecting in a day?
  5. Hi there, I wonder if my thoughts about the mining in the Demeter patch are in line with reality. I'm currently attempting to prepare for the patch and wondering what I'll need at some of my remote territories. Is the following needs list about right or am I dreaming. 1) Territory scanner. I'll take one but I'm curious. Do we actually need one? Will the auto miner just pull up whatever is there? 2) Auto mining unit 3) a container for it to dump into. I assume a small would be ok as I'm thinking a max of 800 litres per day will be deposited? 4) a static core. I dont know if the auto miners require a core but the storage container will wont it? 5) apparently you have to visit every 3 days to recalibrate? So, do I need anything else. I have not put territory claim unit on the list as this is for ones I already have (hope I get lucky). Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can offer. o7 Space Peoples
  6. What is "super-fast prospecting" ?
  7. Sounds fair. I would like to see more missions. I was just ion Maddis looking for something to take me back to Alioth. Nothing. So, the most populous planet in the system does not want any deliveries from Maddis?
  8. I'm just guessing, but maybe it was when they did the graphics update. Or maybe it was that one for docking. It "feels" to me like an increase in resolution has occurred....... because ..... When I run over the grid I get the message "jet pack on" then "jet pack off" constantly (every block). 9 months ago it happened maybe every 6 blocks.
  9. i9 850, 16gb ram, 1660 super, pcie ssd. Yes, I thought it would be doubted and therefore overlooked. Not sure what you mean by pattern. I have not seen any other space stations with thousands of holes in them. I think it has something do do with the "ship" trying to deal with multiple simultaneous inputs saying opposite things. For example ... your floating in space, your on a hard surface.
  10. Thanks joaocorderio, I am aware of the desire to fix the hollow planets and that it should improve performance around those planets. I'm pretty sure the issue I'm showing here isnt related. So, I'm guessing the issue I'm talking about here will persist. The fact that it is an issue but it didnt used to be ...... might help the devs identify performance issues with the game (at least thats what I thought).
  11. I just came back to the game after a 9 month break. I have noticed that in some scenarios the game runs much worse than before. Then I stumbled on a verifiable issue. I have attached a picture of my space station. The view is looking down onto a lower deck. I built this in January and thought I was very clever at saving materials by using a lattice design (of every 9 blocks, 5 are hollow). When I got into the pilot seat of the ship in the pic my frame rate dropped to about 4 FPS. I dared not fly it. I noticed that when walking over my lattice my jetpack kept on turning of and on very rapidly. This never used to happen (back in January). It seems that the game is now much more accurate in picking up these things, like its a higher resolution. I wondered if this was causing the issue with this ship. So, I filled in the portion bellow the ship (made it solid). I jumped in the pilot seat and ..... no major frame rate drop. I'm not a clever person so I thought I would post this in the hope the devs might find this helpful. Also, players might find in helpful for base design etc.
  12. I watched a youtuber video today. He says that the new ore type and amount are not based on what was there previously. So, the scans will be useless. If thats true, then is your question mute or am I missing something?
  13. I just got back in the game today after about 9 months away. My small ship was OK but I hoped into the chair on my medium ship and my frame rate dropped to about 10. I got out and it stayed at about 10fps. Logged out, tried again, same thing. Just wondering if its something to do with changes to lua scripting or some such. Can I just relink the chair or do I need to update the lua somehow (just the standard script).
  14. Just wondering, wont all their quanta be gone as well. Since their territory units will be deducting the funds until all their funds run out. So, the quanta is the 1st thing to go, when that runs out, all the rest goes. Is that right or am I missing something?
  15. I have not played since January. Got an email just now regarding a new code of conduct. 1) Exploiting the game through any game error or bug that gives an unintended advantage. I'm on board with this one (above). 2) Promoting or sharing information regarding exploits, cheating programs, or other activities intended to give players an unfair advantage. This one, I don't like. I never exploit and the only way I ever know one exists is by youtubers or forum posters telling me about it. In many cases this allows me to develop strategies to avoid the glitchers and not be their victim. As the saying goes "sunlight is the best disinfectant". I'm sure its not intended but in most games it seems to be the case that glitches go unchecked and the few people who know about them quietly wreck the game for others over a long period of time. However, it seems that when a prominent youtuber exposes the glitch ........ suddenly the glitch gets fixed and the game developer tells us it had nothing to do with the publicity. I sure this is not an attempt to silence criticism but it may be the result.
  16. My subscription runs out on the 24th (2 days). I was making my living buying and selling schematics to different markets/planets. I wont be extending my subscription. I plan to check back in 12 months and see if the game has reached a beta state. If so I'll give it another go at that time. Good luck everybody.
  17. Ah, I see. I thought if you blocked it with advertisements then they would have to make a ruling on all advertisements but alas I was wrong
  18. I have not bothered with Pvp. I would like to but I'm waiting for some sort of warfare. Which at the current rate of progress seems years away.
  19. I guess you could force the issue by completely blocking the entrances to the markets with "advertisements"
  20. not to me. Maybe because I have unsubscribed? Runs out on the 24th I think.
  21. Hi NQ. I bet its a bit of work to put these events together. Maybe, when you launch an event, you could let the players know. I was looking through the forum to see if I could find the latest patch notes (which I could not) and I came across a post about an event which launched a few days ago. I'm sure you put a message in game when you launched it (like you apparently did last time). However, I'm in bed at 3am. Could you please make it so such messages appear when we log in. I feel sure that you would like the other half of your player base to know when you have launched an event. I bet there are currently many players who still don't know its even on.
  22. If governments around the world would cooperate (never going to happen). We could have a network of solar panels around the world all connected on a grid. Almost free power 24/7
  23. I agree with Graxxor. The game is still in an alpha state. If we are paying for this (which I am) we should be getting big feature adding patches at least every month to try and get the game to resemble a beta product. However it seems that NQ have other hurdles to jump 1st in that the content that's here has major stability and other issues. They really are in a bind.
