  1. Maybe the problem isn’t that he can do a 9 million job twenty times in a row, maybe the problem is that the biggest job is 2KT, 400KL. Would you be happier if instead there was an actual job which required you to haul 40KT, 8MT? Is the upper limit of missi No too low for end game level players and ships?
  2. In Elite Dangerous you have market venders which connect to your guild store. They are run by a blind tender every week. While there system is a lot easier to embrace because their market is a menu based system, surely some ideas could be gained from that? Have S cores around the platform, each is closed tender for a month. You get one week notice that you have won or lost the tender. Anything you don’t move out of the shop after a renter change is abandoned. Or maybe even you rent two or three medium signs with a teleport hub? The current soloution just seems bad
  3. I remember when it was clear. So many people loved to have lots of floor to roof windows in their shops and other buildings. Of course the problem was that they were two clear and you couldn’t tell the darn windows from the open entry and kept bumping into them trying to find the actual door out!
  4. A few things I suppose... This is they type of advantage being part of a well organised org should let you do, and I suppose it’s hard to determine the difference between one person with twenty accounts and a guild with twenty members. Its not as easy as get twenty accounts and I’m rich. He still needs to work up to a ship which could haul maybe 40KT in and out of atmosphere. Be able to fuel and repair it. So still a lot of play to get there, like I said more of a org advantage. The numbers are good currently, because the balancing hasn’t been done, but when they bring in energy for AGG and all the elements of a ship that size etc then the numbers will definitely change. Its money, if your enjoyment of a game is your in game balance then more power to you, but I’d rather play the game than do a five hr boring trip.
  5. This! Why does my nice ship with buffer zones, voxel protection around the important elements etc suffer more damage than if I removed all the honeycomb and left the ship as a bunch of floating not connected elements. Makes me sad!
  6. If Lua wasn’t client side they could do both, but being client side it’s really limited to ships, which is a real shame as the possibility could be fantastic! I wish there was an option to run my computer in a non-GUI mode where Imcan have it log in and run assigned constructs, rather than having to run the full game. I’d probably have an account for a headless server just to run my factories ?
  7. Still got to accelerate and break. As I said nice non linear curve, probably exponential. A four or five hour trip isn’t fun game play, they are probably afk doing something else just sucking up game bandwidth and server time.
  8. I like taxi missions... a few changes I would request you consider... When I order a taxi, I get a txt when it is close by, how about we get a message when our taxi is nearly there? If you arrive at the pickup point and the customer isn’t within 2km the job is considered completed and you get the pay when you get within 2km of your passenger you can select to pick them up like any other package. A menu comes up,for them, if they select ignore the mission is complete and you are paid, if they select ok then they are teleported onto the ship. If a player is off line when you arrive, you can still pickup and transport them. Taxi jobs have a destination. When within 2km you can offload your passenger like a package And lastly... you can’t pickmup,a passenger without a seat they can sit in!
  9. With Lua I assume you are running many transfer units in parallel. The bottle neck would naturally be the storage container as you can only have ten transfer units feeding into it at once. Otherwise you have a three level of TU’s pulling and pushing the stock somthe ten feeding the final hub are always working at full. be fun to play with, sure 24hr Sou dis to long still though.
  10. My fault, flew to Symeon for first time, I was way heavy and crashed, destroyed every single element in my ship. Rez back to Madis as no base on Symeon yet. Posted a million for a taxi ride back. High price for quick uptake. got to planet, placed a TCU a xs core and a Rez node in case I need it on Symeon again (hint, I did) Return to my ship, using surface gathering and nanopack to make scrap I repaired my entire ship from red to just yellow with T1 scrap. Took two hrs. Took off. Nope, i’m Two heavy. Try to land, didn’t go well. Walk back from my new Rez node. Every single element on my ship was destroyed again ? Back to surface gathering, making scrap, repairing my ship. Did the outside, took 1.5 hrs. Jump on the ship to go and do the inside. It all of a sudden decides to regain its motion, flys a bit with me on the roof, crashes, destroyed everything I had just spent 1.5 hrs repairing. Man was I seeing red!
  11. 1. Work on my CV trying to work out how to explain my time at NQ without mentioning it as I may need it soon 2. Take every bit of left over budget from every department and sink it all into a good PR company to come up with a way to sell this as a viable product to investors to get a new rush of cash for development as there isn’t enough subs in its current state to fund development, possibly even servers 3. Get rid of no industry on dynamic core decision 4. Get rid of current space speed limit, but make the acceleration curve non linear requiring more force the faster you go 5. Voxel damage for non PvP crashes. It’s stupid that every element on my ship can get destroyed but the structure doesn’t take a scratch 5. Fix the darn repair units so you can feed scrap and repair elements, not just destroy repairable elements 6. Get rid of deep mining on all permanent planets as they are just making stupid holes which only ever get used once. Instead have comets which drift in from a long way away, travel through local space, some times clipping safe space sometimes not, and then keep heading off I to outer space and disappear once nobody is near them again 7. Try to fix the rendering so it renders the outside of constructs first so you have something to look at and less likely to hit it. Why render all the intervals before the externals for lords sake! 8. Have a serious sit down with all the developers, work out what is really realistic with the technology and try to determine the most fun PvP system possible with those limitations run out of time, not a CEO so back to work ?
  12. A few things... A day to package a ship using transfer units and LUA, that must sounds wrong. Though the major problem with Lua us that it is client side. This makes it great for ships but terrible for factory management as sitting in a factory just so your scripts run isn’t fun Second, yes having delivery box’s on dynamic constructs would be a problem is not done correctly. But it would be easy for NQ to say if the construct moves the mission is canceled. If somebody has taken the mission and you move the construct, then the mission is complete, they get the reward AND your package. Third stores at the district are a problem. They need to rent out XS or S static cores around the edges of the runway where people can run their market. Letting the, place and run everywhere is a pain. Because for every thoughtful player there are two idiots who puts signs and box’s in annoying places.
  13. They aren’t really winning at DU anyway. They may be rich but their entire game play is either cycling through characters loading and unloading, or travelling through deep space, probably afk. They should do away with the speed limit, move it up to the speed of light with extra power needed the closer you get naturally. Then how fast you travel between planets is how big a ship and fuel you have vs load etc. Much better than being afk watching Netflix for five hrs.
  14. Correct. This is why I can’t do lots of call stuff managing my factory as Lua only works when it’s running on a client. This is why my ship stops in space when I log off, rather than letting me log back on later and have travelled all that distance.
  15. BAD NQ bad bad bad! Don’t do it. Not sure what problem you are trying to solve as you didn’t tell us, but you are causing two much collateral damage! Determine the problem you are having. Work out your preferred solution. Engage the community in case there are unforeseen problems with the issue. Refine, repeat until your not messing up more than you are fixing. Then code. Is your problem nested orgs are getting to many cheat territories rather than paying the increasing price? Make the price based on the number of TCU’s deployed by the super. If the super is and Org the supper of that org, etc.. Please tell us what problems you are trying to fix, as this solution seems to just make more! Oh and if you are going to do anything with orgs, please get rid of the current super, legate, member system. Have super, and then have all other roles can be created, each role can be assigned rights, people can have more than one role. This current system is ancient, terrible and needs some serious work. Before you nuke orgs, give them the tools they need!
  16. First a disclaimer, I have 2 paid and 3 beta accounts... This issue I don’t really have an issue with. With my five accounts I could do this I suppose, but at my level I could probably do megas for just as much (my case, not the 20 guy). They are still playing, they have to cycle through all those accounts. They are still taking risk as I don’t see 180 mil a day without leaving the safe zone. While they currently have advantage, they most probably are using beta accounts. I brought my three accounts for about 20 million each at the time. When the game goes release these will stop working, and not many people will have a huge amount of accounts as they will all cost money. You can’t do game balancing working on the outliner cases. Where i do see this being good is Orgs. This is a MMO, and all of a sudden if you are in a good org which is willing to take the capital risk for you, and do the flying for you then you can make some money. All of a sudden a well organised Org is actually useful. Oh and it’s not 120 minutes, the above example was 120 minutes of loading/unloading. They still have to do the flight which is probably four or five hrs out in the PvP zone. Happy hunting!
  17. Some people are really rich. i have about five million quanta to my name. There are lots of schematics I’d like to have for my factory, there are a few ships I’d like as I only have two haulers. Also there aren’t many, but there are new players still entering the game. Follow the help channel, there are people asking should they leave Sanctuary. There are players needing help with their speeder. We’re not all rich. I’d never go into PvP space, I don’t have the budget . I always warp as I couldn’t afford the loss, and it would be a loss, I wouldn’t stand a chance if a PvP player found me. So yes, PvP is to specialised, it is an area which only the rich can afford to enter. How do you expect new players to start PvP if they have such a high entry cost?
  18. Cool, for you; but if nobody minded they wouldn’t have the quanta to buys your goods. So your business is reliant on mining and making it as efficient and pleasant as possible.
  19. We need folders. under map, the bookmarks section needs folders we can create and move things into Under map, the constructs section we need folders Under RDMS, the tags need folders Under RDMS, the profiles need folders. Would make things look so much more tidy and be easy to find.
  20. Would be nice to be able to set the contents of a dispenser by Lua, but as a min at least let us set the price
  21. I see it every now and then when browsing with the iPad (landscape) but it usually only narrows the first couple of messages and doesn’t scroll down. The real issue I have is I go to unread messages, find one, but it takes me to the top,of the first page. I have to scroll down until I find the new messages line. There must be a button or something to hop, right there but I haven’t figured it out yet and it bugs the heck out of me when deal Ng with multiple page threads. Edit: my bad, it does keep the narrower width. Guess I’m just used to that width.
  22. This is pretty obvious. Have you looked at the amount of data this game uses, it’s nuts. The hardcore players putting in serious serious hours will be using way more data than their sub covers, that’s if they are even paying subs rather than alpha supporters or using beta keys. The causal player, well what is in it for them? You cant have a cool ship with causal mining hours. You can’t afford the schematics for a sweet industry playing causally. You can’t be anything but a victor playing PvP casually. So there is the problem, nothing to do if you are casual; vs costing more than you pay if you are hardcore. So yes, if it doesn’t find funding its doomed. What they should do if they get more time? My opinion is... Mining, make surface gathering with talents as profitable as underground mining, less holes, less database. Minng machines you can leave on your Sanctuary plot and anywhere you expand to. Not a high cost tire four machine, but something that the casual can afford so when he comes back each session he has some ore to play with, be it market, industry, etc. Industry, allow usage of an industry to slowly earn you points towards a new schematic, so more ways than just quanta to get them. Have missions where refine 100 pure carbon, make 10 basic connectors, create 100,000 Advanced electronics. Something that industry guys can actually make money from if they aren’t 5/5 in the entire production line. Have it so player skill and not just talents make a difference to profit. PvP, first make it more interesting. Next, arena combat. You can bring your own ship it suits the level conditions or use a stock ship. Winner gets coin, loser gets practice. Neither lose or take real damage to their ship. Make it that if you don’t have a ship, but have it’s blue print you can use that. This let’s casuals get in on the action. It lets all players get some experience rather than the hard perfect or dead world of current PvP. Those are my ideas. They could cut and paste them into an announcement and say this is our roadmap for the next three months. If they did they’d be idiots and probably only make me happy. Hire some professionals in game theory, game loops. If they really are trying to make a EVE/Space Engineers hire sme experts in both games to work out their best features and how they could be blended. Talk to your coders, get a project manager and determine what would be cool, vs what is actual possible. Talk to the community more. I don’t care if your say we only had two coders this week as we haven’t paid the others. One showed up Monday but come lunchtime threw his coffee at the screen and walked out, while the other has been head down butt up working but every ten minutes starts swearing in some unknown language about darn voxel correction. Tell us something. Don’ts Don’t push something out before the 17th unless it’s ready, it will probably cause more harm that good. Don’t release cool videos of the games to attract new players if the videos don’t actually reflect the current state of the game. Don’t keep going the way you are, I don’t think it is working. and most important Don’t listen to me, I don’t know how to make a computer game.
  23. Not supported in New Zealand so there goes that idea ?
