  1. I'm planning to upgrade my ship by getting better engines, I'd like to know how much gain would I get for each tier of military engines but I have to include the talent bonuses in the calculation.

Now I'm sitting on lvl4 on all the talents affecting atmo engines, so +20% max thrust, +8% atmo elements thrust and +40% thrust when put down.

The in-game builder helper tells me my basic atmo L are outputting exactly 3,85Mn of force, the closer I can get is 3,86995Mn by doing (2,16 (basic L eng thrust) +28%) +40%, is this the correct formula? am I missing something?

    Thx in advance ?

You dont get to make that choice, NQ does......

Ofc, I was only saying that imho it's a bad/lazy design choice.

I mean, if they blindly picked a game among all the sandboxes/building games out there and shamelessly copied it we would have had a system a thousand times better, but hey, schematics (and bots) were probably the easiest and quickest way to solve their problems and they went for them.

Mind that schematics and bots are also currently the main source of damage to our economy, that says a lot (always imho).

Can you run two copies of Windows, without an additional license?  Not sure why it makes no sense, the schematics let you run one machine, to run two, you need two.  What is confusing?

Schematics are not the os, they are the .pdf file you need for your printer to print the document. Or the .STL file for your 3d printer, I bet you don't need to pay the same model twice in order to print it from 2 printers simultaneously.

This is a joke right? You understand how an economy works? You are talking about something worse than when players were able to get a huge discount on schematics for 30 minutes.

    No.

It has nothing to do with economy, it's just  lazy design, given I have the machines and the materials it makes no sense that I cant run 2 machines simultaneously with the same instructions.

.23 was an excellent update. It lacked a basic thought of how an economy works. The only job to make $ is dig and its very boring. Had .23 came with this mission system people would not have flocked out of the game as fast as they did.

I do not agree. While I understand the purpose of the schematics I find it a terrible design to not being able to replicate one once I've bought it.

Why not take the problem backwards, NQ does not take action because it does not seem necessary to them.

Let's all bring an L core ship that we will leave parked as close to the market as possible. (an M core for the less wealthy among us).

    This should make things happen.

Personally I only use one market and it is not very crowded (and I don't have any lag / crash concerns).
But if this gets in my way, I will also come and park the most big ships in my possession so that everyone can enjoy them.

Amateur! If you really have to do it at least do it the right way! Thousands of xs cores (just a core and a shell) so that they have to manually delete them one by one.

I get why NQ tries to keep people playing, hoping they will resub on 0.24

I also understand people wil get upset when they learn that they're paying a sub which means nothing

NQ stays quiet on the matter.. unsurprisingly

This makes no sense, ppl might rage quit over this kind of things, the risk of losing players (and reputation) is higher than the benefit of having an handful of ppl logging for the lulz.

Or you buy an AMD like my friend, 14 crashes at once and never had the chance to ever start the game.

Been playing with a 5600x since mid november and I crashed like once, as far as I can remember this is the most stable machine I've ever had (so far xD).

Frankly, player stalls and/or stationary constructs in general should not be allowed to be be placed  on the district market _landing pads_ at all ..

NQ has been given suggestions on how they can actually resolve this, several times from several people such as THIS one and frankly without too much effort required. Needless to say, they have ignored any and all such suggestions for many months now..

Well, if the problem is the lag caused by the amount of constructs parked there then creating more space doesn't really solve the issue.

A simple bank could help getting rid of all the stacks of containers laying around maybe.

Test it.  Scanning from AGG heights above 4km on the surface should result in zero ore. Likewise if you deploy a scanner below the surface at different levels you can use it as a meganode depth finder.

    *drops mic*

    lol

Did you also tried to go past the -3km mark to see if there's anything down there?

  11. I was following the previous thread, my opinion was, and still is, that the one not working properly was the scanner, so as I was scanning on alioth a few days ago I did a couple of more tests in the meantime. The best one was over this one hex which had a small amount of malachite and limestone, like 5000 and 10000, ended up extracting like 5300 and 9500 (got the screenshot but I'm not at home atm), pretty much self-explanatory.

I support your claim that devs underestimate players and I don't understand why. Even an EVE outsider like me that never played more than one free week can see the battle reports and see how much ISK is removed from game on each battle. How much time would a player alone take to get that much ISK using NPC economy?

But I do believe a wipe is needed.

No game should ever be released without a wipe.... I don't even understand why NQ would suggest not to do it. (oh, never mind, they needed a heavy beta investment to keep the project running, so they baited new players saying it was a release....)
With all the bugs, exploits, abuses, rule changes it is impossible to not wipe before release and have any fairness whatsoever.

It's true that Devs usually underestimate players but here in DU that's only half of the issue. The other half is that NQ still need to find a way to fine tune his game. Atm they are only using money as a gate for progress, and ofc 300ppl are going to burn that content if it's tuned around 20ppl. That's why the majority of multiplayer games use size limits for their groups. I don't know how eve works tho, how do they achieve balance there?

People who don't want any wipe only want to physically retain what they already built and to continue building on top of that. They are only concern about the building aspect of the game. If that is all they're after, I tell you that this is not one of the best building game. The reason why we are all playing this game is because of the overall package, not just for the building, in which this is not one of the best option. If NQ wants to protect the gameplay of this game, not just the building gameplay, then how about we think about a wipe?

If none of the sh*t works but just the building, there are a lot of better building game than this! Why play this one in particular if it isn't for the package?

That is my argument that I'd like to add. Concern yourself about the building? This game is about to die!

I'm a set designer/set decorator irl, trust me I'm pretty used to see things I built getting "wiped", it's sad but it also gives you the opportunity to learn and do better the next time, which is cool for a creative personality. This to say that I couldn't care less about my assets getting wiped couse I can just rebuild them better, and enjoy the process again, ofc it will also take me less then half the time it took me the first time couse I know now what to do. Also I know there are better building games, but afaik this is the only one with a single shard persistent universe, which is what I've been looking for for years.

The ones who are against the wipe are probably more concerned about their status than anything else, things might change and it might be not as easy to gain wealth as it was before.

Btw I agree with blazemonger that wiping now makes no sense, there are still many things that might go wrong, better to wait for release.
