  1. Work to build a probe .... it gets to new unexplored area ... you jump ... don't construct a gate ... work to build a probe .... it gets to new unexplored area ... you jump ... don't construct a gate ... rinse and repeat until you are so far away from anyone else you can enjoy single player.

Miss out on 50%+ of the game .... pay monthly sub ... don't care about new expansion/update because it is meant for MMO ... continue to play alone ... miss out on 50%+ of the game .... pay monthly sub ... don't care about new expansion/update because it is meant for MMO ... continue to play alone ... rinse and repeat until you are so bored you stop playing.

One of the big selling points of the game that NQ has made very clear over and over and over and over and over is that this is a single universe.  You can play single player in effect but why?

  2. You break into Novaquark's headquarters in a daring overly complex and elaborate stun, like a combination from all the Mission Impossible movies, using a team of six highly trained professionals working outside the realms of any government. You then spend the next two months on the run from authorities, hard drive in hand, as a world-wide fugitive. Most of your team would likely be captured and/or killed during this time. Several cities would also suffer severe damages, with hundreds of thousands of innocent bystanders killed as collateral damage, throughout the climax of your many brushes with those seeking you out.

After faking your own death while simultaneously assassinating the lead investigator who is absolutely psychotically obsessed with capturing you through any means possible, you will then finally be able to live out the rest of your days in hiding, but in relative freedom. Crouching over an old computer in a caravan that you move from place to place every night, parked in the middle of the desert and powered by a diesel generator that you have to constantly fix every half an hour, you can finally enjoy the fruits of your labour in what is currently the in-development version of the game.

Hope this helped shape your plans for the next immediate (and long term) future.

How can you forget the ARMOR HACS!!

  3. As far as I understand it, if you purchased a pack that includes an Alpha key then you will have access to Alpha.

The game developers selected a number of people for the "Alpha Team" who will get access regardless of pledge, but are otherwise identical to anyone who bought a supporter pack.

As to your age, no one would have known it if you didn't say it. I believe 14 puts you well below the average age of the community, but it shouldn't hinder you in any way.

Yes ... this.  Before the kickstarter NQ picked people to be in alpha based on activity and contribution to the forums/game.  Those individuals you saw were before the kickstarter and crowdfunding started.

  4. Been playing this game and you can't land on planets or anything but build ships stations and it is EA but already has tons of stuff to entertain and the universe is huge and "alive".  Mine, trade, build fleets, explore, fight.  Check it out but for most on here I'd think it would give ya a DU fix for a bit.

  5. If you can control access to a terminal as in toons only rank so and so can access a particular terminal then I know you could have a terminal for each and only those with that tag can use it.

So not one terminal that changes by who uses it (which would be cool) but one terminal per tagged access level each with its own permissions. I remember JC said before that terminals can be customized.

  6. Hi guys,

I have what some will probably see as a stupid question, but I was wondering anyway so here goes.

If I pledge the $120 (gold) package in the crowdfunding it mentions I'd have access to alpha and closed beta ... (here comes the stupid question.......) , does that mean that I'd be able to login immediately?

Or is there some date in the (near) future that this access will become available.

Looking forward to any insight you might have.

    Regards,

    Seldsum
