Serbet reacted to Kyllian in So I pay to look at waiting screen?
WoW, Eve, FF14 none of them give back time spent waiting on queues. Where on earth did you get that idea? I have played mmos for 20 years and can not once say a single one gave me time back for waiting for any of the aforementioned. Only time I have been given any type of compensation is for extended outages (4+ hours) and that is only for outages. Not to mention MMO access plans or service based subscriptions do not guarantee 100% access on an on-demand basis if it is not defined in a ToS.

Also, welcome to a beta! Here we find issues and determine server scaling to handle the influx of people willing to participate, and before you tell me to "read what a beta is" this is exactly what a beta is:

Beta: Software is tested for bugs, crashes, errors, inconsistencies and any other problems (note the any can denote scalability issues such as this)

I would agree with you if this was a finished stable product.
But right now, ppl getting a subscription are not getting it because the game is great and flawless.
They are making a bet that this game will become great and flawless.
They are submitting them selfs to bugs, lack of performance, unwanted restarts to have a head start on a game that can become grater then EVE.

On this scenario what would be the point of a trial?

Some of us have been playing for three years because we are fine to put up with the issues, because DU gives us something we cant get anywhere else.  The problem is that new players dont get to reach that part because they are put off by these issues, made worse by the fact that:
Some of the issue are specific to new players, because they are in zones with high load The company need money, so had to open it up, more money = better servers and the game will then run much better (as it did in alpha) but short term, more players = worse performance (catch 22) DU is 100% my favourite game, I have not played anything else since BETA launched, I 100% understand why the new user experience will put off some players, as will the lack of certain features (such as pvp) but some people will be like me and be happy to put up with the issue because they also see the incredible potential.

Being an ALPHA backer I am lucky and dont have to sub, but if I did have to, I would pay it no problem BUT I know what the game offers, it will be a shame if people leave without seeing that.

You might want to hold off until the full game is released if rough software is not your cup of tea. I'm sure the devs are aware of the bugs and are too busy to read these forums... Just put a bug report ticket in.

Then i wish you best luck with a refund of a product that is how it should be in beta
And again you buy in beta you need to know what this means and life with all consequences (if there will be time added for the issues is a other discussion)

Serbet reacted to facemywrath in Ore layers (like onions)
When I go mining, tier 1 veins are generally close to the surface and there's only so many per hex. If I mine down for two hours and end up at -10km, there's absolutely no ores. Well what if there were layers to ores. Now I understand the issues of purely random generation. It's why ore depths are averaged out between their limits. 19-470? average depth of 240. But what if you take that range, and add another one just like it at 1247-1622? And 3534-4011? As well, have a slight increase (talking at most 100% 50km down) that increases vein size the deeper you get. Once resurrection nodes make you lose stuff and you can't just force respawn all the time, it will reward those who haul everything back to the surface. As well it would allow for more ore, which will be necessary as beta comes and player count skyrockets.

I can see this being an issue for me, as I am not a war like individual nor am I big on being part of a huge organization. Kind of the little guy if you will. I could see the little guy getting pushed to join or else or even constantly harassed by "pirates" until they either have to join or just quite. anyone that has played EVE knows this is how Goonswarn started, now they are a huge problem. something has to keep the solar system from being lawless.
