  1. i agree i t might put stress on server but so does everything else. at the end of the day it matters that the game is immersive. One of those important elements is sound. Since the rest of the game is dependent on player content and already we have customized UI for In cockpit, plus other customized features. we should be able to customize sounds. plus they could make so it just produces that sound just for that player and not everyone else hence keeping the servers from increasing stress.

  2. Not sure what the space craft and other vehicle engines sound like in game, but I thought It would be a cool idea to be able to customize the engine sounds. I know some engines are larger and some smaller. Those changes should effect the sounds it makes. 

     

    Almost similar to the customization we should be getting with Space Craft UI with speedometers and altitude we should be able to customize the same with the sounds like adjusting the loudness, rumble, vibration, echo, crackling, and other sound parameters. Maybe have a simple sound editor in the scripts or just be able to pull up a menu when selecting engine types and be able to adjust simple sliders to adjust the sound it produces. Maybe even ship interior sounds like mechanical and electrical beeping.

     

    What do you guys think?

    Announcement: Project Orbital is underway with it's purpose of development of a giant orbital station hovering over the #1 Planet of Alioth. This will be a wave of new constructions over every planet in the galaxy to hopefully better connect us together.

     

    Orbital Station Current Specs (subject to change and evolve over time):

     

    - defendable
    - modular/expandable
    - roomy
    - able to accomadate high traffic volumes

     

    List of Areas & Rooms:

     

    - Large Main Cantina 

    - Defense satellites on a static grids placed around the station

    - Spaceport with many different sized hangars, landing pads, and Space port terminals which will accommodate up to 10,000 ships

    - Commercial district including Org Meeting rooms, Market Stores and Ship stages, Storage Areas

    - Residential Area - Including different size rooms for incoming travelers

    - Arena for DICE gaming commission

    - Casino / Resort for DICE gaming commission

    - Asteroid Grappling docking arm (for resource collection and mining)

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

     

    I also Have my mac Bootcamped so if i need to run it on Windows 8 I can.

     

    will this run well or should i think about getting a new computer?

  7. I was thinking about creating orbital stations and buildings with cut out spots which would be windows. But I don't think there is windows in this game, at least not yet. I think its silly to create a city with walls and defenses when we can't even create a closed and secure building or base. I know they were talking about creating useable doors, but what about windows. 

     

    If they do maybe it would be cool to create a painting tool or color picker with the option of making the selected voxel clear. This way you can see through it but not walk through it.

     

    What does everyone think about this?

     

    Should they give us windows?

  8. I know we just got some details on How territories will work on planets, but will there be any territories in space. If not then what is the process of building an orbital station? or star base?

     

    If it there are territories in space then I'm assuming there would be some sort of second layer of hexagons  around the planet a certain space away and you would put down a floating territory claim device on it and then you would be able to start building. 

     

    If there are NOT territories in space then how will this work? We can just start building anywhere in 3D Space? or does it have to be on a certain plane? and if the orbital station has an up and down how will we walk on it if we build it upside down if there is no gravity? Will my orbital station rotate around the planet? How does that all work?
