All hail the master of all facts! All hail the great @VandelayIndustries. He alone can determine what are facts relevant for this discussion and what are not. If you find usefull seeing the outline of a station when aproaching it from its dark side, hide that fact. Because that fact is not approved by the great @VandelayIndustries. And therefore is not a fact. If you just joined the game struggled to make a basic ship to meet with your friend on another planet, spent hours traveling, and before you can land safely, you colide, die and spawn back on Alioth, its because you are a noob that deserved it. And if you ragequit its because this game is not for you. Because you are not like the great @VandelayIndustries

It does not matter what you do and how you play the game. The world does not rotate around you, your game play and your tastes....... It does prevent colisions. It prevents colisions on ppl that cannot afford a radar or dont know how to use it (new players) It shows the size and shape of a space station, preventing colisions on aproach.

graphics Why I think the nebula should be removed
joaocordeiro replied to Squidrew_'s topic in General Discussions
It should not be removed. At most it should have a option on settings to turn it of. Then "eye sensitive" ppl like the op can turn it of. While normal ppl can see objects in space tnx to the contrast created by the nebula. -
The nebula has nothing to with realism or decoration. The nebula was added to create some contrast between the dark part of space stations and the darkness of space. To solve the issue of players colliding against stations because they could not see them. Also, being smart has nothing to do with recognizing enhanced telescope images. You need knowledge and experience to do that. If you dont know that most of the picture details in Hubble pictures were not captured using visible light, but instead, infrared, how can you understand how those images were "changed" so we could see colors we usually cant see. Also, if you are in the middle of a dense (light blocking levels) gas nebula, you will see the nebula it self being illuminated instead of far away stars.

I dont think the features themselves are the problem. The problem its the conditions needed to use the features.. I dont understand why we need to own a territory to build. Or to place a miner. Someone may answer "people want to safeguard their right to mine and build" My answer to them is: sure allow ppl to own territory but dont disallow other ppl to use free territory. "What if someone buys a territory that already has a base there? Simple... The owner of that base has 7 days to remove the base or the base becomes abandoned. If ppl can build and mine without owning territories, new players have a chance again.

Nice to see that you were able to overcome your hurdle. But i have to agree that this is a problem with high impact on new players. Something that needs a permanent fix. Fast travel is one fix. Choosing what market we respawn to is another. A player that just died in Jago should be able to respawn in Jago.

Sure, i was being sarcastic.. In the end we need a ton of NQ sponsored content. In my head, NQ could make player competitions for interesting content and then populate the world with copies of that content. But that would require some concepts to be introduced: Loot and loot boxes Lua controled avatars Creative mode with dev level tools Then again this leads to AvA, NPCs and dungeons.
