    I think a multi-level system of blocks working together achieve a task(s) https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/566-multi-block-systemweaponry/,

I can see a tabtargeting system work...

IF the movement is actionbased combined with that weapons have limited arcs.

The issue with EVE is that it honestly don't matter where you are, you can still be shot as long as you are within the range orb.

BUT if they made this the case, then the combat wouldn't be so much about ATTACKING as it would be with movement, which would make it very interesting.

CosmicDragon reacted to Shynras in Ship Roles
Ships are going to be made by hundreds of "interactive blocks", that will define the role of your ship. They are going to be about energy, storage, weapons, repairing, healing, speedboosting, managing, ia, and wathever. Those blocks are going to consume energy, to make the ship heavy or to take a lot of space, so you can't carry every single block in the same amount a specialized ship can. Some kind of hybrids will probably be possible, but they're not going to be maxed in every role.
And building a bigger ship to fit everything is not going to help anyway, since the bigger the ship, the bigger the needs it's going to have.

    A Military Alliance

The universe is a treacherous place. We at the Federation hold the belief that military strength and solidarity are critical to our members’ interests in the face of those who seek to violate them. Our Non-Aggression Pact and military cooperation are only part of Aeonian’s firm dedication to security.

    An Economic Syndicate

Operating an advanced and wide-reaching network of markets across the universe, the Aeonian Federation is a key player in the galactic economy. With additional banking and investment options available to members, the Federation unlocks the path to prosperity and financial security.

    A Visionary Pioneer

As a progressive, forward-thinking organization, the Aeonian Federation is always striving to do what has never been done before. We challenge the traditional “guild alliance” paradigm and emphasize the importance of member and organization sovereignty. We push the technical limits of what Dual Universe represents, undertaking bold enterprises such as Project Emberstone. Rest assured: there’s no such thing as “boring” at the Federation.

    A Community and Family

The Federation isn’t the typical dictatorship guild. Although we may appear large, we’re also a tight-knit family dedicated to player cohesion. With our revolutionary Nexus hubs (the ultimate social network) and frequent game nights, the Aeonian Federation offers the best of both worlds: the friendship of a small community and the security of a large, established organization.

In order to keep AFED running smoothly and its members happy and safe, the Syndicate employs a variety of structural techniques and facilities to ensure the integrity and continued existence of the Federation. How would the use of reactors effect the time in between fill ups at a gas station.  Depending on how much "overclocking" is used.  I don't think anyone wants to spend the last hour of everyday finding a gas station to be able to keep flying around the next day.  Also would there be any waste from the reactors, I know fission power stations today produce waste, but I am not sure about fusion and weather of not the problem couldn't just be solved by dumping it in space.

I don't like the idea. Planets should be a limited resource, as any material in a certain way.
1)This would reduce exploration and colonization needs.
2)This would keep the center of the playerbase stable, while the needs for more resources and land, would force them to move:
-Imagine there's a huge HUB where everyone trades, and do various stuff. One day a war happens, that HUB gets destroyed, and someone will build another one closer to new and resourceful planets, and the playerbase will partially move.
-Or maybe, the main HUB will be shut down by their own owners, since the lack of trades in that area (since planets there could be out of resources) made it unconvenient, while players moved by their own to a zone with new and resourceful planets, and a new HUB is born spontaneously for economics needs
3)Every planet should be a precious asset, the territorial unit shouldn't reflect the land price by its own, but the land itself. Creating a planet would mean that you create value from nowhere.
4)Players would be picky. Take what nature offers, don't just create your ideal planet. In front of you there is a planet with pros and cons, embrace both of them.

Another empire for Vulture Corp designed fighters and starships to battle against. After all, no real progress in starfighter and starship design can come about without a little strife among empires and republics can it?

Ships are going to be made out of blocks, even in the "survival world" and you'll be able to modify them whenever you want. There's no reason to limit building in certain zones.

To step it up a bit, the no build limits has me thinking of planet building.  Now I know that the way that the Magrathean's did it was pulling matter though white holes, and I have seen nothing so far on spacial anomalies, (and for this to be a thing you will probably need the ability to create them) so this is way out there.  But limitless should mean limitless, although it depends on how the core and internals of the planet are going to be handled, and the way the movie depicts it at least it is a bit ridiculous (I don't remember how it was described in the book).     But the logistics and raw scale of the ships involved is fun to think about.  Of course it doesn't have to be an industry, it could like a throne of sorts for a mighty ruler of an alliance of organizations.  Just a very out in the almost complete emptiness of space idea.

I should also point out, Magrathean's are from the book Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and they build planets.

OK. I never have responded to a forum post like this, but this was a QUESTION! Simply put, This is Gameplay Mechanics assembly. He is simply assembling the gameplay mechanics and trying to figure out if there will be a realm for solo players in this community. There is no need for negative controversy to be stirred up and no need for a, quote on quote, remark about him being anti-social and accusing him of multiboxing(he said it but didn't say he did it) to be said. If you feel the need stir up controversy, just go back to your irl social circle.

As for you my friend, I never Welcomed you to the forums and although it is a bit late, welcome. As for solo players, it is stated that solo will be possible, but the benefits of joining a group of people will far outweigh solo. In terms, organizations will always have a dominance over solo by a long, long shot. Solo is not a good option, however such roles as freelancer, wanderer and even professional spy, bounty hunter and as such will be possible. So there are roles that are similar to solo but actually have some benefits.

For NPC corperations as well, I highly doubt we will see such things but the devs still have a lot to reveal to us. Hope that answers your question.

Well, we have a few EVE players in these forums that want to Pay-2-Win by multiboxing. You should try and do your own thing in the game imho, set up a space gas station in a jump point and be set for life

The ability to, when building your ship or station, place individual components that can be used for many different types of feed back to a central station in the command center of the like.  Weather the components would only cover one type of sensor or be an all in one package could be determined by skills used to build them.  The feed back could be from video, thermal and inferred to air density, and some sort of advanced medical scanner.  The necessity of these systems might not be there, depending on if there will be boarding actions, how damage to your ship is dealt with internally, if you can have stowaways, medbays, internal automated defenses, if one person can run a space station, gambling establishments in or that take up the entirety of one ship, and a simple vault where a community would store their vast wealth.  And even then if none of those are in the game, having the ability to look at your ship though security cameras would be pretty cool.  So tell me what you guys think, even though the majority of this post was just a list of other ideas i had.

    Welcome to the forums CosmicDragon!

I agree with your ideas, if there's a potential for ships to be boarded (which they've stated might not be in Alpha or Beta, or even at the beginning of release) then there should be sensors that alert you when it's happening.

I haven't put as much thought into internal sensor system as you clearly have, but you certainly have me thinking about them now :-)
