Foregotten posted a topic in General DiscussionsTo date I've probably spent 1/2 a billion quanta on recipes, materials, ore, and parts. Everything is super expensive. Turning a profit can take up to several months, and requires great effort. Pirates are getting their way when it comes to ease of the kill. They can shoot us out of the sky with very little effort. Warp drives don't function if you're targeted (even if they don't fire a shot. Basically your car breaks down every time someone looks at you and you had to get out and push till they looked away). There's cool down and warm up periods for warp drives (pirates don't think it's fair that we have a chance to escape) Increased the mass of elements to make sure that ships are slower and weakened the shields hit points. (make all the defensive stuff heavier and weaker so you're a sitting duck). Right now it's pretty much point and click. They click your ship name, click "Identify", then start shooting. If you're traveling at max speed, turning to confront is near impossible until you slow down, by that time you've already lost. Besides the shield generator, and the pirates skill for successful hits, there are very very very few defenses for avoiding. They can shoot through asteroids or any obstacle you may try and hide behind. With the right script, they can automate just about everything so all they have to do is target you and click fire, and the script takes over to track you. Pirates should have to put in some kind of decent effort in their trade too. They are mass complaining about how hard it is, and the devs are bending to their will. Pirates have it too easy. And if we want to see any change and make pirate confrontation a little less 1 sided, we need to mass complain to the devs like they do. Post your suggestion on how to even the odds, and I will compile all the ideas that have the best chance of being deployed in game into a form that you just have to copy/paste into the submit form.

Why the heck would you damage a ship that has limited lives on its items, but what about the cargo? Players can toss cargo... Cargo "Trashed" from any container/person, should spawn a container specific to the size of the cargo. ( This SHOULD have been done already, or should be in 0.25 patch ) Now players can "Avoid" a destroyed ship by jettisoning cargo Or you can try to get away Or some-ones trolling and just wants to wreck your day. Additions welcome! :3 I am just trying to be constructive here.
So You can no longer control warp drive with Lua Apparently it was because of emergency jump systems people made to avoid being pirated while hauling long distance and going afk and it was unfair for pirates. I believe the change is stupid because now it's unfair for everyone else but pirates, you have a warp drive and you can't even use it to run away? So here I'm suggesting my solution: Add jump calculation timer to warp drives. The timer should last like 1 minute or 90 sec, not sure how long, that time will have to be balanced. During jump calculation players cannot change their velocity (so cannot thrust or brake, however should be allowed to rotate), if they do the countdown will be canceled. Introducing that timer would make it most fair for both sides, it would give pirates a window to catch the hauler and fire on it (and that activates combat cooldown that is already in the game) and if the pirates are not able to catch the hauler in time it will jump away. And ofc make it possible to initiate that timer with Lua, you shouldn't except people to non stop sit in front of the PC during let's say 90 minute flight between planets.

Beteigeuze is a simple structured Organization that, once the game wil be published, focus on spreading terror and fear throughout the galaxy. Beign a part of Beteigeuze is one of the greatest goals one can achive in the upcoming game - not because we would start at a higher or more advanced part than other organizations but because we have the will to achive everyhing we can dream of. Be it control over planets and civilazations or the will to reign the whole galaxy through enslaving planets and races. Beteigeuzes first goal will be the construction of a huge star combat cruises, called "Malecifent" which will serve us as our main base to spread our ideals throughout the galaxy. With this, we will attend to include a large superweapon into the ship, which will serve the purpose to destroy whole citys. This organization contains of simple elements which are divided into the imperial space forces, the imperial planetary forces, the imperial trading forces, the Imperial Mining forces, the imperial Construction force and the Imperial Core. The Imperial Core The Higest of all those instances is the Imperial leading core, which consists of "Supreme Leader" which is the head of this Organization. Directly followed by the Leaders Right and Left hand, which are formed by the Imperial Space forces General and the Imperial Planetary Forces General. A Third position to this is the Supreme leaders Hand, which is personally commanded and equipped by the Supreme Leader with a own flag ship and military forces. The Imperial space forces The Imperial space forces are Beteigeuzes space military which serves to destroy other large space stations and win space battles. It is lead by the Imperial Space General which commands the Second larges Ship in the Organization. This general commands 3 large fleets, each equipped wich one large destroyer and 4 small conquorers. The Imperial planetary forces The planetary foces are Beteigeuzes military section which is working on planets to conquer citys and planets from the ground. This part is lead by the Imperial Planet General, which commands a large mobile Headquater that is able to switch planet if needed. The General commands 3 divisions, which each have about 25 Soldiers in in. This Section will be equipped with large ground vehicles like tanks. The Imperial trading foces The imperial trading foces concentrates on trading with other acceptable organization to gain needed rare resouces and weapons. Lead by Beteigeuzes Bank ministry which consists of the 5 economic Generals. This section will be equipped with 2 large bank and trading cruised which allow Beteigeuze to trade materials and currencys. The Imperial mining forces The Imperial mining forces are based on every planet to gain resouces through mining off planets. They are lead by the Imperial Mineing Chief and are equipped with large mining stations as well as mining vehicles. The Imperial construction force The Imperial construction forces work together with the trade and mining forces to first create our Head-Ship and then all needed space and ground vehicles. Lord_Void posted a topic in The Gameplay Mechanics AssemblySo NQ has stated that Construct vs Construct combat will be released in a future expansion, and that means in the meantime ship vs ship combat will be limited to boarding parties. I'm perfectly fine with this, and understand why they need to wait to release CvC combat due to development costs. However, this concept seems incomplete. How exactly does one catch an enemy ship in order to board it, without even basic CvC combat? Space is a big place, with a lot of place to run/hide, which is great, but a problem if you are trying to board a ship. It's not like someone is just going to pull over and agree to be boarded, unless they think they can win. Otherwise, the second another ship tries to get close, people are just going to leave. And with no way for ships to shoot at each other or otherwise disable another ship, there will be nothing anyone can do prevent people from just running away. It's not like you can lean out the window and try to shoot out their engines with a pistol. This would eliminate many forms of emergent gameplay: Smugglers Pirates Navies Police Blockade Runners Blockades Ships would essentially be nothing more than flying buses, perfectly safe from any sort of threat. Space would be reduced to nothing more than a means to get from planet to planet, rather than an interesting environment of its own. As such, I feel that, even if advanced CvC combat doesn't come out until a future expansion, there should be a basic system in place to allow ships to disable/immobilize other ships, so as to allow boarding parties to do their job.

We only attack other beings if they pose a direct threat or if we are at war with each other. We have a long lasting rage with the federation and all government aspects and we are at constant war with them. We are an empire built of pirates. Backstory As the last of our kind, we have seen it all. Empires falling down, power-driven figures destroying everything in their path, survivors emerging from the rubble of their homelands with an everlasting thirst for redemption. We were once part of these said survivors but no, we rose up and moved past our rage. We came together and forged an empire of integrity, honesty, and loyalty. We are the Lonestar Empire. While we build our empire, we have hope of a long living empire and prosperity within our people. What is our main objective Explore new and vast lands Trade with other factions Build on multiple planets over a large scale And conquer our enemies Engage in PvP Battles Recruiting We are currently looking for recruits.
