Since the developers have seemingly quietly swept them all under a rug. You can no longer even see what you had purchased, they aren't listed on the account page, and the old info about them was quietly removed from the web.

The information may no longer appear on the official site but there are still archives and articles with the details.  If I had to guess, a lawyer and/or a bean counter was involved somehow or in some capacity as to why the public info went poof instead of a curated archive section.  I sincerely hope it was an oversight that purchase history and relevant terms are no longer attainable within one's personal account.  Odds are fair that some of the founders and backers are lawyers or close friends with one, so I'm sure NQ is not intentionally hiding that.

I disagree. Game will not survive long because it's not in a good state at all.  It's bare bones. People will sub if the game is good, and has content.

AngryDad will have at least one raceway ready by the end of week 2 and other event oriented content will pop up fast.  Much of the player made content can be put back in fast.  And let's face it, many are here for the pew pew.

  3. I've tried a few builds with a downward oriented space engine.  It took a while to notice due to my flight habits but the down space engines are default tied to throttle when leaving atmo.  Getting out of the seat while in space typically resolves it but having something like that go unnoticed for a long slow boat will put you way off course.

Thank you for the explanation.   Some people in my fleet were asking about this.   Question, if someone came in today and purchased a 12 month subscription, would they get the exotic tier also?  Meaning if someone has never played and bought a sub next month for release, do they get the rewards also?

13+ months total sub on the account BEFORE launch will have access to the Exotic tier.  Someone who already paid and used 12 months and pays for one month before launch will have the same qualification as someone who buys 13+ months the day before launch.

Could you explain the 13 months of needed paid pay time to get the bonus after the release?   I have paid from August of last year until May of this year.  I just renewed my subscription for 3 months and I believe that will only give me 12 months of paid subscription.  Does this mean I will not get the bonus after all the beta game time (1800+ hours of in game time)?

The subscription time you listed qualifies you for the Rare pack.  With one more month added before launch you would qualify the exotic tier.

    PIONEER PACK - RARE

This package is available to players who have purchased up to twelve months of subscription for the Dual Universe beta. Please note that it’s not necessary to have used the game time by this date to qualify.

This package is also available to Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Contributor backers from our crowdfunding packages.

Up to 46,992,000 extra talent points, including the server-wide accelerator event and the beta talent point awards, by the end of the 6-month launch event.

6 monthly payments of 200,000 quanta.

  6. I am collecting whole and partial ship hulls to use as a greebly pallet for a post launch build. I am taking donations for XS and S ships at ::pos{0,26,11.5613,174.6914,175.1182}.  To donate a ship please remove DRM and then abandon the ship.  I don't need the elements unless you designed it in a way that it would not look right without it and if I am online I can give rides when needed.

Keep me in mind as you are going through and re-building all of your old blueprints.

    Digital kit bashing FTW!

Been watching for awhile and looking to join at release. My question is it worth getting into the beta now for a few weeks  before release? Also, will new players start with the same items at release as players in beta?

    Cheers,

    Cdnbass

The value of starting ahead of the launch is getting familiar with how the game works.  It has many menus and keyboard shortcuts and you have less risk to experiment with anything and everything since the launch will reset everything except core blueprints.

I agree it's not clear, but suggest caution in that a) I don't belief RaF awards were mentioned in the same way that the 2FA ones were for launch, and b) it explicitly says on the RaF webpage: "(Technical condition: the items will be loaded in the referred player's nanopack, right at the start of his/her playtime)", which I admit was written before reset was (officially) on the cards, but it still doesn't fill me with confidence.

I'd be happy for them to appear after launch ofc - those 2 small containers and extra container hub will be a great help!

If memory hasn't failed me, the items are placed in your nanopack via click menu the same as the daily login.  That is to say that you first have to log in, and once logged in you must click to accept it before you can interact with the game.  More likely than not it is a flag on your account that a new server would see as "haveRaF:  yes, deliveredRaF:  no" with no need for further planning or action from NQ.

I will be putting the obsidian roundtable in the game.  Eventually....  For now I'm happy with the rust skins.

RaF awards are given the first time you log in - they won't repeat for launch if you've already claimed them.

I thought those would still be available post launch just as they are resetting the 2FA bonus at launch.  Why would anyone want to use RaF between now and launch if those items will be lost?

    This is causing some confusion:

Finally, if you've subscribed to the game, ensure that you have at least six months of talent training queued up.

Some people are reading this as, you should have your talents queued before launch.

Can you confirm that this is meant for post-launch?

Essentially everything except core blueprints are being reset.  That includes talent training queues.  You have to log on at least one time after the official launch and while you are logged in set a training plan that is at least 6 months long to take full advantage of the launch event talent point [passive earning] boosting (2x one month, 1.5x three months, and 1.25x for two months).

Taking this line out of context is confusing. However in it's full context, it's quite clear that it is referring to queuing talents after launch:

Finally, if you've subscribed to the game, ensure that you have at least six months of talent training queued up. The talent point accelerator event, which is open to all players, will boost your talent point acquisition in the first six months of launch by:

    • 100% for the first month
    • 50% for months two, three, and four
    • 25% for months five and six

I see room for some confusion in the statement, and not just with pre/post activities.

Why did you even waste time writing that post? There is literally no new information that wasn't already given in the stream or past AAs.

We don't need you to reiterate known information, we need a definite time for the release! Time zones are a thing you know? If you want to start at server launch you need to know in advance at when the release actually is (27. or 28., 3AM or 3PM etc.) thats the most important information needed to prepare for the release.

I don't know the inner workings of NQ but I have noticed a significant drop off in forum participation.  It is possible the post may have been at least partially motivated by a need to rebuild scuttlebutt (word of mouth, talk) about the game.

The time zones issue should be addressed (looking at you, NQ).  It is understandable to fumble over dates and times when put on the spot during a live stream but it should be clear and obvious in writing by now.  I would even go so far as to pre-emptively state that even if you can't start the server by XX:YY UTC due to launch day issues as long as you're trying your best and keeping us informed the majority of your (current) players will be forgiving.  Most of us have witnessed the insanity of launch day issues and I know how hard it is to see the first new expansion quest giver in the mass of 1,000+ players blobbed around it.

  11. I believe Sanctuary and Haven are two different kinds of "safe moon."  Sanctuary requires STU to claim tiles where Haven you pick the tile you want before you enter the environment of the game.  From what it appears to me, Haven is like a newbie zone where you cannot claim more than 1 tile per character no matter what.  When the game expands into multiple solar systems the STU may become far more valuable than as a tax shield in the safe zone we have currently.

  12. With an existing account you probably won't have easy access to the new first time player experience.  If the opening playthrough is what you want you can watch a stream/YouTube or try it with a new account much faster and easier than a support ticket to fix your current account.  Since it is still a work in progress you only go through the earliest of basic game play.

  13. Now that you mention it... I have noticed that players appear to be moving particle effects rather than solid bodies.  Almost like an approximation of ray tracing with enough latency to appear ghost-like when moving.

The current new user experience is far better than what we previously had, but unfortunately, it has a long way to go.

For release, many orgs will be trying to help as many new players as possible. I am concerned about the time after this initial rush, when there won't be so many experienced players still around on Haven to help out. The learning curve is steep, but the payoff is there if you can survive those early days.

If my Eve experience is anything to go by, many orgs will be recruiting and helping such players.

I thought about that and constructs are not validated either. People make what they want and maybe only if something is reported to be a violation action is taken. They could use the same approach in that case. Someone says hey this image is questionable and then review it. Not sure how much work it is to review everything but it could turn out to be a lot if we get many players.

As it stands NQ is the sole arbiter.  Both of us have made suggestions to lighten the load for them going forward.  The route they pick is out of our hands.  I am providing resistance to your suggestion to try to tease more nuance and/or details to help NQ get a better understanding of what you are recommending.

  16. Given the dynamic nature of voxels I don't think an automatic pass for screenshots would be advisable.  I could justify making such an in-game feature available for a community board to have opportunity to approve should they meet quorum requirements to help with expediting approvals.
