The way I see it is even if we did have such an AI available, the big orgs will also be able to use it.  So even though you can run a larger business (or empire) than before, so will the larger orgs.  You would be in the exact same place. 
 
But you CAN be rich and live comfortably on your own, if you want. Just come up with an idea, product, service, etc that is so good that everyone has to have it.  Then you don't have to sell everything like a general store would.  Specialize on one special thing and you can keep up with the big guys if you want.
 
I still bet you'll have to hire security.  But you don't necessarily have to buddy up to them or let them in on your secrets  Just hire a team, let them do their thing and pay them well.

You are better off waiting until NQ determine the NDA is to be lifted then it is obvious:-
 
1. Technically it is ready
2. You can determine directly the game play quality for you.
 
Don't make the same mistake you've already made with SC. On that subject have you looked into a refund. You could then always repurchase with no significant loss and absolute risk removal on that money, that way, and even reinvest it into DU anyway. /suggestion.

Silver Founders get access during Alpha 2 now. When that will happen is unknown, though we may get a better idea when the roadmap is provided this summer (Paris summer that is)

Probable just a place holder but I think most people or concerned about game play and being fun over cosmetic's ? They are trying to accomplish a lot by just have everyone on one server but I'm sure once they have the main factors of the game working right they will tweak the game in other areas like cosmetics.    

I am excited about DU's premise as I really like the idea of designing my own spaceships and travelling through space. I also look forward to forming an organisation with some friends and carving out a chunk of the universe. A lot of this game sounds fun, interesting and very achievable, so I do feel a certain amount of optimism towards it. As good as it sounds, though, I'm also a bit wary about this game; I've been burned by a couple of other Kickstarter/EA games, so I'll take a wait-and-see approach towards it. If it comes out of NDA and the feedback is good I might take the plunge and buy into it.
 
That said, I've seen nothing from Novaquark that gives cause for concern and the game does seem to be progressing smoothly. Hopefully this is the case and DU will be a big success.

Prolly nothing, since E:D barely makes return on investement. It's a good game, but 31 years past its hayday. Most of E:D's playerbase are people who played the 80s game...

Also - no offense - do not hype up a witch hunt or allude to "fake news". Unless you got solid proof and evidence of material coercion of MasssivelyOP's editorial, you should not make such allegations - that's what goes down in the SC forums, not in these ones. You can argue that E:D does not have a place in that list, sicne it's selling Paid Expansions, sure, but do not accuse the press as being "bought out" cause they put E:D on the list. One of the two has to do with reasoning on the merit of the ganme's entry, the other has to do with Freedom of Speech.
