you could do it with a constant clock on the thrusters, or just do it minecraft style seeing as how they plan have no voxel physics eg: floating blocks "cities"

Underwater, or just water physics in general would be awesome. I'm a huge fan of water based naval combat and this add a huge element to largely water based planets.

I really dont like how far you can excavate terrain in gameplay video, i'm aware its pre alpha and subject to change but perhaps making it apart of the skills. The higher level you are the faster you excavate. Just food for thought
