  1. Tutorialspoint takes it from the beginning so maybe you can find what you seek there http://www.tutorialspoint.com/lua/index.htm
  2. 1+ Symmetry would be a awesome feature, havnt tried starmade or empyrion but space engineers way of letting you decide where to put the mirroring plane is pretty nice and would probarly save people alot of time when building, especially with 25cm big voxels, thats just insane But i cant think of any problems really?
  3. Its anyones guess how the infantry combat will be implemented but they already said that a fps as we know it just isnt possible, the way the game handles positions and showing other players makes it impossible, the further out you get from your position the more what you see "lag in time" so manually aiming would lead to alot of misses essentially what you see is not there anymore but somewhere further ahead and you see a afterimage of that, that way of handling positions is what makes a game this size possible but puts some limitations on stuff, like the physics not being space engineers with ramming ships and debris flying everywhere but more of a eve *Boop*
  4. I dont get all this elitist coders are going to rule the game and builders should be eternaly grateful to bask in the light of the holy code they produce? and so much utter nonsense "No need for command lines anymore", "Coders getting preferential treatment".. and it devolved into hate against coders after only 1 page Coding / Information System Design is a skill you can learn, just like doing 4 years at a animation academy to learn 3d art and design.. by all means everyone can build something cool with time and dedication but the truly awesome stuff is made by people that dedicated alot of time to get good at it so in the future when the game goes live i will probarly be flying a awesome ship, made by a guy that lives and breathes scifi and voxelgames, has a 8 year professional concept artist background with a special in spaceships.. probarly costly but totally worth his skill On topic : well after the already planned stuff are done and more time opens up in planning a coding GUI could be good for newbies that want to do some basic scripting like timing stuff etc but right now theres not enough need, you can still build a ship and fly it without scripting at all, scripting is still for advanced behaviour and tweaking so i would say its a "nice to have" feature but not critical Source (from the bottom of the page)
  5. it makes really good sense either you get back to the arkified area and get your ship saved / vanished or you smack a metric shit ton of guns on it, park in the danger zone, baptize it Fort Awesome and hope for the best.. it also gives more meaning to the arkifying a area with alot of work, a safe logout place attracts people and makes for a natural come together area and i guess people will arkify cities and tradeposts where solo players will need to be for protection and trade
  6. i saw the e3 trailer and thought "yeah well see" after Dual Universe being mentioned in the subreddit of .. a related space voxelgame i went and read the entire devblog and bam.. Hooked as can be.. Good god this game will be awesome and the tech already looks incredible! It seems like a beautiful cross between eve, space engineers and shores of hazeron and i couldnt be more hyped.. this is going to be a long 2 years
