  1. Hello FriedrichLP and welcome.

The game is current in early development and lacks a lot of gameplay.

Backers who have game access are actually more testing and debugging it than playing.

If you want to play the game, you better wait until beta at least.

If you want to help the game development, tests are indeed currently planned once per week and usually last 24h and up to a whole week-end sometimes.

  2. Hi Mavmav21 and welcome on the forums.

    I wish you the best.

PS: I'm moving the thread to "The Arkship Pub" forum where all presentations are located.

    Hallo Mavmav21 und willkommen.

    Ich wünsche Ihnen das Beste.

Ich verschiebe den thread ins "The Arkship Pub" forum, wo sich alle Präsentationen befinden.

  3. Hi DrunkenSavage,

The forums require a community manager to give you the right roles.

As they are very busy, give them a day or two to do so. If you don't notice any change by then, you can send a PM to @NQ-Nomad and @NQ-Nyzaltar.

You probably want to double check that you used the same account/email on the forums and on the community website too.

  4. Quick answers:

1.a - I've no idea what you are speaking about. This may be due to translation errors.

1.b - These markers will probably depend on radar / sensor you have on-board and are only place holders at the moment.

This gameplay has not yet been shown but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to distinguish different celestial bodies.

3 - New solar systems don't need to be develop: universe generation is procedural and automated.

I don't see anything preventing to have two suns if NQ add it to the generation algorithm, but that greatly depends on current implementation so I don't know.

You idea to bring up though.

4- There will be FTL drives at some point. You can check the last AMA transcript for the last information about them: https://dualthegame.com/en/news/2018/02/08/in-game-ama-feb-3rd-2018-transcription/.

  5. Deepl translation:

    Quote

I get ideas here and there. I'll start, but it's being expanded and it's not terminal.

    1) Planets:

    a. There are mostly Class M planets, where an atmosphere prevails or even only partially. My idea would not be to represent an entire planet, but to create a crumbled, fragmented and confused planet in individual parts, as we know it from the dragon hunters: floating earth or rock platforms, partly provided with formations and buildings and all this still in the atmosphere. Of course you can take a small planet the size of a mode and put platforms on it, decorate it and let a moon buzz around it.

    b. Orientation:

There are green markers indicating planetary positions. But on release you will be able to leave the solar system. In order not to fly into space, a marker should be displayed that differs from those of the planets. For example, not green, but yellow or orange and preferably a different form than markers, so as not to discriminate against color-blind people.

If the planets are in orbit, at least personal initials (editable) or the original name (not editable) of the planet should be displayed above the distance display, as they will constantly change their position.

The same applies to the rotation of the planets around their own axis: the coordinates should be attached at the location of the terrain and not in space, so that the planet rotates and the coordinate changes permanently.

I would like to name newly discovered planets myself, if they are random.

    2. DLC:

I hope for free extensions, such as newly introduced solar systems, which are very similar to ours or have absolutely no resemblance to ours. A meteorite ring, like in our solar system between Mars and Saturn, where all millions of meteorites are captureable would be cool. Saturn rings should be material and random nebulae in space completely block the view and true secrets for explorers (planets, moons, space stations, other mysterious entities,...)

3 Galaxies: Whether there will be only one or several galaxies remains to be seen. But on the subject of solar systems, I would like to suggest that a solar system (like #LongJourneyHome) can sometimes have two suns that are orbited independently of each other by different numbers of planets and that the types and sizes of the suns and planets are variable.

The markers for the solar systems should point to the largest sun in the respective solar system.

    4. movement: The 100su/h should not be the only ones (please). That at least 500su/h of normal (at least the larger space-engines) are achieved is desirable. To travel between solar systems, FTL engines are necessary, which should not be larger than the L-Space engines. These should be speeds of 18.000.000km/h (900su/36s = 25su/s). A brief ignition of the FTL engines is desirable in order to get from one planet to another in a few seconds in an emergency. Stargates would also be a possibility, but it would take too long to find another solar system to place a Stargate. Unless there's FTL and Stargates. You can do both.

    That's it for now.

  6. Wouldn't this kill the purpose of a world reset?

But nothing prevents you (or a team) to save blueprints of the city and rebuild them after launch ;).

Also, as Lethys pointed out, NQ usually don't want to take part in player gameplay.

I add that copy pasting buildings from different players and different location will probably look ugly as they were not supposed to fit which one another.

  7. As per the information we currently have:

    1) You automatically get these items if you are a Ruby founder (see https://www.dualthegame.com/en/news/2018/03/07/supporter-rewards-for-founder-backers/ which is the most up-to-date).

    2) Currently, you cannot pledge with this account. If you want to support NQ, you can create another account, but rewards will be tied to this new account.

    3) Supporter packs end when beta begins (no ETA).

    4) No, founder packs have ended.

  8. Hello Daanson and welcome on the forums.

I see that you have a contributor pack which gives you access to the alpha 2 testing phase (as stated in the pack description).

We are currently in pre-alpha so you don't have access. Once alpha 2 will start (no ETA), you will be able to download the game from your profile on the community website: https://community.dualthegame.com/accounts/profile.

I hope this is just a mistake and will be changed at some point in the future?

I have no problem with the charging full price for the upgrade part.

But making people who bought a Bronze or Silver founders pack create a new account just to access the game now seems bad.

While I agree with you, I don't know the answer.

Oh.... so I will get pre-alpha access tomorrow?

Only at alpha 2 and beyond.

Except if you create another account and buy a patreon pack at full cost (but in this case, you will have two different accounts and rewards won't be shared).
