I don't think a lot of you understand the scope of what NQ wants this game to be. From what I have understood from all the information presented in the past, progress in this game is going to take time. If I remember correctly, it will be many days before a ship is even able to leave the planet. This isn't going to be your standard arcade style MMO. This game is meant to be invested in with your time.

I don't think a lot of you understand the scope of what NQ wants this game to be. One thing we all need to realize is that we have no idea what the uptime schedule is going to be. From my perspective, even though I have more PTO than I'll ever need, it makes no sense to take time off if I don't even know it will be worth taking time off. Yes I will take at least a day or 2 if we're given enough notice of when the first uptime is and it takes place during my work hours. We're all fans of the game here. Most of us are super excited just as much as the next guy. Sometimes our situations just aren't the same. It may make sense for some people to take time off and not others. Some people simply show their excitement in different ways.
 
On top of everything, it is pretty insulting to say a person isn't a fan because of how you perceive, without context, what they write.
 
I'd love to play devils advocate here as well and side with Yamamushi on something but all you're doing is poking and prodding at a point with only the context of a few words that you assigned an emotion and feeling to. Maybe Lord_Void got your intent wrong as well. However, he's not the one saying you're not a fan or even too fanatic about the game.
 
Let's just all take this as a learning experience and move forward. Don't make get the switch.

Guys can we simply just stop flaming at each other and just go back to awaiting the DU alpha... Come on, some of us can take time off from work and want to do so to enjoy the alpha. There is nothing wrong with that, some people simply care enough about it, to do such things. Then there are those of us who can not take off time for the alpha, sadly I am one of the latter in this instance, but guaranteed a lot of us who can not play due to work/school time constraints will do what we can to be online as we are able. 
 
What is not proper however is to flame at individuals due to the fact that they are taking time off from work to enjoy the alpha, or that a group does not care enough to take time off for the alpha. 
 
What I do suggest, is that we just go back to our quiet little corners, and just continue to wait for more information from NQ about the coming alpha.

So, considering Discord is the widely used communications program throughout our community here, thought it would be a good idea to rally up some support to get a feature request to go through that every group here could benefit from. There are several threads on the Discord site for this so I listed below the best ones to vote for. (imo)

Note: There are some other threads made for this request, but this one is what we found to be matching what we think best suits our and DUs needs.
 
 
 
Granted, there are already several VCs that do have this feature, the point is to keep everything within one app versus spreading everyone across multiple communication apps. While we don't know specifics for DU in how communication will work, we do know that Discord isn't exactly friendly when it comes to large crowds in Voice Chat channels. 
 
If you can take the time to upvote that feature, we can bump it up on the priority list for the developers to get it going. It doesn't take any effort but signing in to your Discord account and clicking that upvote icon.
