If we need expensive schematics - then we have to earn Quanta through missions.

Industry (which schematics are required for) and missions are completely different gameplay. Forcing players who are interested in the one to do the other makes no sense. It will reather force them out of the game.

Expensive prices at the market do NOT help, because quanta there are only shifted from player A to B and do not flow into the game.

The last time I used the market I got something in return for my quanta. It seems you do not see the full picture. Low prices are good for players who prefer gameplay that involves quanta injection (e.g. missions) but they are bad for everybody else. With high prices it is the other way around. A healthy market should find the balance in the middle. Major changes like 0.23 and Demeter push the market out of the balance and there are always winners and losers. It sounds like you belong to the winners. Claiming it would help us all might make you feel better but it's simply not true - especially for new players.

    didnt warnings go out?

The last mail I got was Project Update #53. All it says is

"In the coming months, we plan to roll out a big mining update (including automated mining units), new challenges and missions, abandoned construct salvaging, and lots of improvements to existing features that our community has requested."

together with a reference to the roadmap. That doesn't suggest that you might lose your stuff if you don't come back.

I thought they were supposed to get emails, at least once somebody made a territory claim.

Isn't the territory already lost when you get this mail? Than all you can do is salvaging your own static constructs.

NQ gambled that they could threaten non playing (paying) players that if they didnt come back they would lose everything.

If that would have been the plan than they would have included a glaring warning into the last Project Update mail. All NQ did before and after Demeter reather looks like they have no plan at all.

Is NQ saying that they just decided to remove the option to claim territories from inactive players by automatically assigning the tiles withe most constructs as HQ without any interaction by the said player?

That depends on the definition of "players". If it is limited to active subs only than it is actually the best solution. It is the very purpose of HQ tiles to protect property of inactive players. But it would be fools play to include canceled subs.

    Taxes:

    • Every XS core costs 50-100k per week or every 2 weeks
      • 75 cores = 3.7-7.5 mil every 1-2 week cycle
    • Every S core costs 100-200k per week or every 2 weeks
      • 75 cores = 7.5 mil - 15 mil per 1-2 week cycle
    • Every M core costs 150-300k per week or every 2 weeks
      • 75 cores = 11.25mil - 22.5 mil per 1-2 week cycle
    • Every L core costs 200-400K per week or every 2 weeks
      • 75 cores = 15-30,000,000  on a 1-2 week cycle
    • Every XL core costs 250-500k per week or every 2 weeks (if it comes out later)
    • Every TU costs 100k per week.
      • 75 cores = 18.75mil - 37,5mil per 1-2 week cycle

That's the worst idea I ever heard of. The current tax system already is an insult for builders but this would finally brake their neck.

While you are at it - why just taxing TUs and cores? An empty L core has less part in the terrible performance than an XS core filled with complex content. Thus, if you really worry about performance you would also need to tax elements and even voxels. It should be obvious how rediculous that is.

    (1) NO MORE SKY GARBAGE

Who wants to pay 1 Mℏ per week for the "fun" to remove them completely? Most players will just grab the most valuable elements and materials and leave everything else where it is. That could make the situation even worse.

    (2) NEW ORE: Randomly unlocking tiles when a player's claim expires

At least not for the planets in the safe zone. Valuable tiles are so rare that they will remain claimed forever.

    (3) ACCESS TO MARKET

    Same as above.

    (4) MOST UNSUBS ARE GONE FOR GOOD

That's indeed a valid point. However, that would have been possible without tax.

    (5) LOOT AS PVE

    [...]

    (6) NO WINDFALL RICHES

That's why (1) will fail. People will loot as long as it is fun and worth the tax. Than it gets old and the garbage remains.

They showed how many people participated in the polls.

Those numbers were 2 digit numbers.

Thats just because all the other people are playing the game. So many mining units to calibrate. No time left for the forum. Well ... no, it doesn't get better. Nevermind.

Wanted to thank you for balancing the tiles so there is at least 100L of each mineral on Sanctuary tiles.

I would thak NQ if I could mine the new amounts. Example: Before the patch I had 70 L/h quartz. Now the scan shows 115 L/h but the base rate is still 70 L/h.

I'd say the question of whether aprtial wipe will come is pretty much 100%

what is still up for debate is when it will happen.

... and what "partial" means. Resetting everything but talent points and BPs would make sense. But NQ isn't known for reasonable decisions. They might even find a way to render BPs useless in the last minute (e.g. by removing or replacing commonly used elements from the game).

No what it does and what its principle reason for being developed (...) was to reduce the recurring operational cost of the game to make it more likely that the lights can be kept on.

If hope you are wrong because it would mean that the game is doomed. The reduction of operational costs will be scotched by the reduction of subscriptions. That would force NQ to reduce operational costs even further. At the end of this donward spiral there will be no game left.

So in other words NQ learned nothing from 0.23?

Is that a rhetorical question? I mean... it's NQ after all. JC left his position but his spirit remains. As long as DU exists they can persuade themselves that they know what is best for the game. It is not even sure that they will learn their lesson when it fails. They could still think that they were right and the game would have been a success if only the players would learn how to play it correctly.

In the beginning, you can do this calculation with 5x Mining Unit S in the first week

That means you admit that your claim above (5.726.000 Quanta for a "Beginner" in the first week) is wrong. And if you extend it beyond the first week you will realize that the previous claim (develop much further than before the patch) is wrong as well. New players will be trapped on the Sanctuary tile with just a single halfway valuable T1 resource for a very long time. I guess most of them will never leave it because they will leave the game first.
