Situation:
"A pilot flew to the asteroid and saw the miners there. He saw these miners 2 hours ago at the market in Alioth. He knows the vector of their warp and will be able to catch them with his friends."
Randomize spoil the hunt and the game...
The asteroid is still there and radar shows a wide distance. Work a little.

I don't want any kind of "hand of God/NQ" solution.
Randomize the exit points and we're all good.

I manually make the polyc. I misses chem off the kust by accident, though it is on the map. Will edit.
You only need the chem, though I went with 2 refiners total in the end. Will also edit that.

No idea how this was duplicated

Before I start, this is just an example to get people going. It's not meant to be the most min max example. It's not as profitable as just mining, but mining gets old quickly and is time consuming while this gives you some free time to do other stuff.
It uses only t1 ores and only small industry.
4 x this set up will set up a 800 unit run every 280 minutes (with talents up, but not at 5) which you can sell to bots for 2mill. About 12 million every 24 hours. Provided you've got the ore, this will run itself.
Since you are likely to be new and cash poor, get these in stages. For 1 set of 4 you will need
5 Small containers
5 Small Industries (small basic atmosphere eng s)
4 Metalworks (basic reinforced frames s, basic burner s, basic screws, basic pipes)
3 3D Printers (basic injectors)
2 smelter (steel, silumin)
1 chemical industry (polycarbonate plastic)
2 refiner (ore to pure)
2 Transfer unit (screws and pipes)
This keeps max connections under 10.
Below us a rough flow chart on it's set up.
Once you are sure you understand the process you can go on to more complicated set ups.
Edit: I keep thinking injectors were called connectors, so the C in the containers that says f,b,c,s,p should be f,b,I,s,p.

I have to commit to this thread.
It isn't just the market place.
I don't feel that there's anything wrong with space elevators because they have a column but these floating, tiny, black platforms..
one user called them `death-twigs`
I first crashed into one and died, it's 4500m above sanc10, 10km out.
it cannot be seen by radar and most of the time cannot be seen during flight.
(unless you use the fixed camera angle and happen to be focusing)
these things are common and will become an even greater hazard over time.
I wonder how many deaths it's going to take for something to be done.
Eventually an NQ staff member-player will suffer the misfortune.
I'd rather something was done sooner.
I don't seek to belittle any of the comments on this thread, the solution for what i've written here might well be connected to the solution for the above.
Once again I have to point out the safe zone is to be safe from CvC and AvA combat, not safe from any thing that makes you a ickle bit sad.

Mama mama, it's not fair, I want to play with Timmy's toy!!
If you don't see the problem with one group of players getting preferential treatment from the devs, well, I don't know what to tell you.

Tried to compact an xs craft with a warp engine on it.
Got the container message, so I repaired and removed them
Got the atmosphere engine message, so repaired them and removed
Got the space engine message..so
Must be ok now, right?
Got the "ship is too heavy".
?
could we not get them all at once? Or at least the weight one first?

I'd say that assumption is actually incorrect and while it is obviously perfectly fine and absolutely acceptabel to choose the life of a pirate or bandit in game, this doe snot mean NQ must amend their plan/vision to accomdate that.
Although I agree with everything you say I was distracted by my ironimeter exploding.

Can you maybe pass it on to NQ developers, that in pvp If you kill someone, you crash to desktop every single flipping time. I've not had a fight where me or a gunner haven't crashed. This isn't an exaggeration.
I can't fly over a market or even a much changed landscape without crashing.

It's going to hit someone somewhere and tech people are engineers and engineers like regularity.
My preference would be about 8am UTC, which misses the Americans completely, inconveniences the Europeans and Russians marginally and and affects the smallest market (sorry) of the Far East and Australasia the worst, if we take the worst time to be at dinner/tea (The Northern English in me).
-
Please forgive the impertinent question but is English your first language?
I only ask because there have been cases of warnings given because nuances in meaning and tone have, in the forum Moderator's own words, been missed by them not having English, in an English language Forum, as their primary language.
(Though, it goes without saying, their English seems technically excellent).

Trolls like this make me weary of the future of this game. I wouldn't be surprised if people quit after loosing 10 Large containers full of shit because of a warp trap or microvoxel towers.
"and because I was too dim to bring scrap to repair the damage, or post the coords of said traps to help others, and just left the wreck there and expected it to just be there in a living and dynamic universe because people must care about my fee-fees and NQ has to help me by changing the game because I don't ever want to have to ever help myself", they added silently, before throwing their face into a pillow.

Sellimg mining rights on my hexes.
Alioth 500k per hex for Alioth, 1.5 million for Thades. Other planets: Pending
How it works: I've made an org. You'll join an org and the hex will be shared with org members. You will not be asked to share your construct's rights. You will be given org access to the hex. After 1 month, from date of permission, your permission will be ended.
DM me.
Obviously, you could get your own hexes but they could be played out. So this is a smart, long term decision.
Edit: my Alioth Territory is just 17km from M6, the main market of Aliith, saving you travel time.

Interested. Worried about the replicas though. NQ may come down in it.

Popin is bad at even 66kph....
But if you see it as the alpha it actually is...
And trees. They used to have collision. Much sanity was lost. Though I wish they'd bring them back.

Well, that screws up a lot of salvaging and allows ship litter to build up. Both are not great.

And that is totally fine. But have you noticed that while 'carebears' are generally fine with there being PvP in the game, PVP'ers are the ones loudly complaining about safe zones.
All I see is pve'ers intimating that pvpers just want to destroy things without challenge. Edit (Some Pve'ers are) Refusing to see any nuance, refusing to help themselves, refusing to cooperate in any burgeoning civilisation and trying to get NQ to make a different game.

Thanks for this, but for the love of God please use the hide or spoiler function. Scrolling on a phone takes all day.

Complaining about pvp now is like complaining about the colour of a wall that's not been painted yet.

Here's my one paragraph mining tutorial.
Walk in the surface until the line of your ore is at its lowest. Dig straight down until the line flattens again. Press L for light and elevation. Dig in any cardinal direction (NESW) at 0 degrees of inclination. If the line stays flat, turn 90 degrees. If it rises, turn 180 degrees, it if falls then bingo. If it appears flat in 4 cardinal directions then it's above or below you. Repeat until you hit ore. Use the detector (4) when you are about 30m away. Move slowly looking for it. You can also hit alt plus mousewheel to toggle a smaller scale scanner (40m instead of 400m).
More:
Get in the habit of back filling dead tunnels (dig with "collect non valuable ore" toggled) by alt+ dig to fill.
It's quicker, at the beginning, to leave the way you came in. When your digging hole is big enough its trivial to get out if a t1 or t2 hole.
Don't neglect vigor, cardio (it makes getting out of a hole easier), nanopack limit and container link distance talents.

Seems like a lot of words just for an excuse to post this...
We get it though. If the safe zones were smaller then there would be more seals to club.
And this is still page one ?
I'm sorry you are hard of thinking.
Tip of the Day. Voxel saving flooring
in General Discussions
Posted
Make a grid like this, one voxel thick in a 3 x 5 sheet. Remove alternate voxels until it looks like the pattern below.
V = Voxel
G = Gap (no voxel)
V-G-V-G-V
G-V-G-V-G
V-G-V-G-V
Copy paste (and copy increasing sizes until max)
Et voila, cover large floors with this grid to save half your building material. Nothing, yet, can fall through 1 voxel holes.
May cause a performance hit on weaker machines though. This may need testing.
