  1. It is that simple, out of all of the organizations now how many of them have "inappropriate content" in the logo? Very few that's for sure. No reason to waste the devs time IMHO.
  2. Or we could just have an indepth logo system that devs don't have to waste time checking ^^
  3. I disagree with such a system, if you implement creativity for the players it has to be available for all. If you want user pictures/logos to be implemented in the game, there shouldn't be a huge price put on them. Perhaps a small money sink if necessary... but not something expensive enough such that it's a limiter for the amount of people who can use the feature. If there are user-implemented pictures in the game I think the FIFO method would be best. You might have a long wait, but meh... at least everyone's on even ground with creativity.
  4. Fair enough, however, I don't see that being an issue... games that do have color customization and similar content rarely have avenues for creating phallic (or otherwise) content. It's usually limited to a few different areas of the customization that can be recolored. To be seen of course, but I'm not too worried about it ^^ As long as there's no official hello kitty skins, or any other ridiculous content, the rest can be settled in game.
  5. I don't disagree, and I did say as much. I do disagree with that bit about silly clothing and whatnot, I don't think there will be such instances in the game. Considering NQ is not adding in silly/humorous content officially that means clothing/cosmetics will not follow that path either. However, you are obviously free to create as silly of a ship as you want within the capability of the design system. Edit: Similarly if they implement color customization to clothing (which I imagine they will? No official word, but it's a common feature in games) someone can have a hot pink jumpsuit.... I have no problem with that. It's when people start implementing ridiculous designs such as hello kitty.
  6. One vital fact you are overlooking here is that in Minecraft you have segregated communities. You have those childish servers, and you have the more civilized servers. In Dual Universe, it's all lumped into one. However, it is clear that clothing will not be immersion breaking... ala NQs stance. However, in another discussion it was stated that there will be ship customization (obviously) which will not be regulated (obviously, it's user created). Which is precisely the perfect balance I can think of.
  7. There's no reasoning whatsoever, they have spoken. Like it or not, official cosmetics will not involve such things if they have a cosmetic store.
  8. Ha, guilty. It's important that this game doesn't end up like C9... or any other fantasy MMO with a cosmetics shop out there. (IMHO of course) They can get quite ridiculous ^^
  9. This is fantastic news, and precisely what I was looking for. Thanks
  10. I voted for things that could plausibly show up and make sense in the universe. Everything except: Hilarious (obviously, that's a no brainer), Medieval, Tron-like (not entirely sure what this one is, but the idea in my head (like the movie tron?) is a no), robot-like, and wizard/witch. The rest seem fairly plausible for showing up in a futuristic/dystopian universe. Voted for pay with DACs, but some costumes should probably be craftable as well. However, NQ needs to make money. I wish I could vote no on all of the last three, but oh well. Voted yes on the last one, as I'm undecided. Definite no on the first two though.
  11. Wrong on first account, wrong on second account as well. I KNOW people have weird preferences, which is why I created this thread. They're free to have them, free to create those structures via in game means... but NQ shouldn't make such skins. And they probably won't ^^ As for the first account, there was quite a large uproar on the forums. So nope, you're wrong. Anywho, out of the two games weird skins make more sense in Star Citizen as it's a "stable" society that can worry about such things I would like an official word though.
  12. This guy never knows how to read, does he? I clearly called for a simplistic cosmetic shop that has immersion-enhancing cosmetics. Having such will gain far more purchases than a hello kitty sticker lmfao Welcome to the real world.
  13. The problem is such behavior was supported/encouraged by NQ through an official cosmetic/skin. I don't think anyone has a problem with people creating their own skins.
  14. Yeah, community policing never works. I've never seen it work anywho
  15. Then I can customize myself to be derogatory to such behavior. Let's see how this plays out. I didn't mention it on DU forums, but this CAN lead to conflict... and not the good kind of conflict fought within the universe. I've seen such conflict break out for something as simple as clan tags in a MMOFPS. If you can make people like me feel unwelcome, why can't I do the same? I also think you missed the part where I don't care if you create your own skins... NQ shouldn't dabble in it. You're free to do whatever you want to do, NQ shouldn't create official skins however. Same stance I have with Star Citizen. Let the users create their skins, but don't create it for them. Let them express their "attention-loving" selves, but do no more than that.
  16. I like how you fight generalizing with more generalizing. By no means am I hoping for "edgelord" material to be in the game either. I'm not entirely sure what that is, but as you can see in the OP... I'm perfectly okay with people creating their own skins/shrines in game... but NQ should NOT sell my little pony skins that you can outright buy from the cosmetic shop. Anything that breaks the immersion of colonists working day in day out just to survive, is counter-productive to the game IMHO. La Santa Maria was not fully covered in pink was it? Because they couldn't worry about those type of things at the time. Sure you see pink recreational boats now, but even then... I'm not going to judge you for your preferences, but edgelord... hello kitty... willy wonka... whatever it is, keep it out of the game. This is partially why I don't want NQ to have a cosmetics shop at all. Rarely does a game get it right. Err, by keep it out of the game I mean keep it out of the cosmetic shops if there is one. Make the shop simplistic. Keep it simple stupid, right?
  17. I've made a few replies/posts about what I DON'T want to see in cosmetics (if they decide on implementing a cosmetic shop). However, I thought it would be worthwhile to point out that Star Citizen's implementation of Hello Kitty is a big no no. I'm sure twerk probably thinks otherwise, but please... I beg you... keep Hello Kitty cosmetics outside of DU. And similar actions of course, I obviously don't want to see my little pony in DU either. On the other hand, anything "over the top" should stay out of the cosmetic store. This goes for ridiculous looking scifi stuff as well, unpractical designs and stuff. Hard to explain on that front, but you probably all know what I'm talking about. Unnecessary (non functional) protrusions from the back, to look like wings... or stuff along those lines. A player obviously has the right to create a hello kitty shrine with their own assets in game, but keep it out of the cosmetics shop
  18. Agree with the gist, but I believe they have decided that you will NOT be losing money on death.
  19. I think looking cool is how you win a game, so cosmetic stores are rife with p2w. Down with cosmetic stores! Edit: It's all about perspective... by my definition DU will not be P2W... by someone else's it will. However, this system has worked in various games without angering the masses. So if one person gets their jimmies in a bunch over it, who cares? Let them find another game.
  20. September if everything goes according to plan.
  21. Have to agree with this guy, many of us have gone through similar situations. I am sure you're in good hands! What they accomplish is astounding, even if it seems like the odds are against you.
  22. I'd also agree, but with names like "horse*****" and variations thereof. (Literally all of them) makes me think these aren't real accounts ^^
  23. Ha yeah, I have never had any luck with bluetooth headsets. My friend has these guys, and they seem to work pretty well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A0EAYDI/ref=psdc_12097479011_t2_B018Y5CVO0?th=1 They are able to be either wired or wireless afaik. They also come with a mic, I imagine it's in the wire though... but you can always use an external mic.
  24. I purchased the LyxPro HAS-30 to be the in-between until I can afford the Mezes classics, and they are pretty awesome for their price. I definitely prefer my K7xx, but these guys are great for the price. There's a cheaper variant out there, but rebranded by a different company. Can't seem to find it, but if you do find it... it would save you $20. I personally like the aesthetic of this guy, but it's more expensive for the same exact headset: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018Y5CVO0/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491870482&sr=sr-1&keywords=lyxpro+has-30 It does not have a mic though. The cord is also really long... but so are most cords in this category.
  25. Just a button to turn off the UI/graphics would be enough for me. Plenty of capturing tools out there to use
