  1. There are plenty of tiles with tons of resources on them all over. If I wanted to get more of anything, I'm 99% sure I could find a ton of good/decent tiles for them. Autominers make ore trivial and saying there is some kind of scarcity to any of it is just a lie. That and Asteroids can provide you 100% of anything you might need. Wiping is bad faith on those who stayed and played, those who paid, with no indication on the purchase page there would/could be a wipe, and will likely end up removing more people than they will end up back with. The game doesn't really have any good press to begin with, and as I have said many times, there isnt a huge crowd lined up ready for "release". The game has been out for awhile as soon as they started taking direct subs and not "founders early access".
  2. Your missing the entire point. There is no content in this game without the players. Literally. Nothing. PvP? Nope, good luck starting that any time soon. All you can do is sit around MMB'ing skittles till you can afford a mining unit. Industry will take large orgs days to get back up and running with the free quanta + bot orders + missions (people will be on these before even the first warp drives are up), but the average new person post wipe? Good luck. Right now we have the backbone to help support new people to come into the game, there are free ships everywhere to get people started, some people give out t1/t2 MUs even. Everyone also keeps mentioning all these new players that would come in. Where are they coming from? There isn't a stash of new players somewhere waiting. The people who wanted to try/play the game have already. Calling something a launch might bring in a few new faces, but we are not going to see the normal MMO rush. With everything that is already out there about DU, most people will make the connection that the game has already launched in a since and really isn't new. This isn't a matter of people coming in and being behind. There is a upper limit a decent chunk of people have reached. With the current state of the game if a few groups of new players come in, it would take them a few weeks to reach that if they are playing decently. I really don't understand why a wipe is even on the table. Its not the 99.9%s fault that NQ didn't take a firmer stance on the 0.1% exploiting the game with duplications and "cheap" Schems among other things. Had they actually had enough backbone to actually AT THE VERY LEAST remove the items and refund the schematics there wouldn't even be this conversation. Its already been mentioned that a decent chunk of the people who currently make the content in the game wont be coming back if there is a wipe, and the small trickle of people they will see for the "release" who probably wont stay will not make up for that.
  3. Unfortunately, the game was touted as a "persistent" universe, and it was VERY VERY heavily implied at the start of beta no full wipe would be happening again. The talks of wipes even remotely being on the table was mentioned in aside for the first time a few months ago but wasn't taken seriously because of how little it was discussed. Once again, the game will likely not survive a wipe. Players are the content in the game, it brings almost nothing really to the table past the same waiting for autominers and super laggy pvp, if you can call it that. All the politics, all the cool things to go out and look at, all the cool ships, that's all player created. A LOT of the major players in that player created content don't intend to come back if there is a wipe. Your right about one thing though. They really are not listening apparently. We needed to know the answer to this already, not right before release. I get if all of the staff likely don't know, as its probably a higher up decision here, but the graves dug, the fat lady is starting to warm up, and based on the amount of people that are not playing right now, because they dont know if anything they do now will matter, its not looking too hot.
  4. I'm not saying that that line of thinking is correct, but its the only thing line of thinking I could come up with that might even start to explain why someone would think wiping 1+ years worth of content from a game, when player made content is really the only real "content" to it. Other games are releasing expansions right now, BDO, New World, etc. And instead of trying to add depth to the game, they just want to hit the reset button. It literally makes no sense to me.
  5. Unfortunately, the "main reason" for the wipe is to help keep everyone, mostly the supposed surge of new players, competitive. The biggest issue I have with this is it implies that there will be some large stream/flood of new players. This is most likely not going to happen. If we are going to be real, judging by claimed sanc tiles and the state of the servers, we might see a small trickle of new players and if some how it does end up flooding in the servers just strait up wont be able to handle it even with a quanta/construct wipe. We are already having issues with our smallish population but I very much worry about even 2-3x the current players. Any kind of wipe will end up with a net negative sub/active player wise most likely and runs counter to everything that was heavily implied. In regards to the economy exploits , they should of taken care of that with an iron fist instead of just tippy toeing around it just to maybe save a few subscribers. the "free" schematics should of been removed as soon as it happened, any kind of duping should have the items removed along with a temp ban and any alts associated should be as well so you cant just skirt the temp ban.
  6. Locking something behind PvP, in this case ore veins that are not absolute garbage(we dont know for sure since PTS is a different seed, but most likely) and/or higher tier asteroids, when PvP itself is a cluster full of exploits and "interesting mechanics", is quite literally going to be what kills the game. The use of bots to scrape information from networks of radars, and ping people in discords by itself is fairly obvious that PvP is a total shit show currently. Trying to defend PvP in the state it is currently in and forcing people to buy from those who are abusing it currently is not a positive gameplay mechanic. If something is coming in to replace manual mining, even if its partially afk, it should give some fraction of what you were getting before, not the dribble that you currently get. Sure the outer planets are better, but to get most of the core ores used, you need 7 tiles on 4-5 planets to even start. Alioth is hot garbage for ore. Stop defending a totally broken system because you benefit from it.
  7. Im confused why Ferro thinks that they are bound by the Player ToS. Almost ever clause you are referring to are for the players. They can and have in the past selectively ignored portions of it to keep the community from exploding from certain things. Get over it, next large patch they will cease to work at all. Play if you want, play if you dont. Its their game.
  8. You guys just cant stop kicking that same dead horse, even after GM said was an exploit. No ones going to show you proof, as its against the rules to show screens shots of discussions between yourselves and GMs.
