  1. so... on top of warp-to-maxspeed pvp exploits now all those who don't enjoy lousy pew-pewing are basically a cattle that even cannot run?

     

    Wasn't acceleration a way to penalise cargo? Now you effectively HAVE TO PVP if you want a clean flight. And with cargo and things you don't have agility or speed, so you just become prey. No second option.

     

    So, the duality in the title is a reflection of promises of creative universe versus lousy reality of a bad take on space flight sim?.. Is not a surprise, obviously, with all the updates. But oh boy, can we finally hit the rock bottom or we will continue to dig for the pits of despair?

  2. I haven't participated in the kickstarter campaign and see the DU only in the beta lifetime and every next patch is just one simple thing: NQ and development team cannot support their false advertising.

     

    Infinite world of possibilities? - Yes, but you have to freaking sit in a shaft for hours to buy things to build things.

    Wanna become industry maniac? - Yes, but you have to pay for every sneeze.

    Let's build planets worth of cool things - Yes, but you can build only one shed 10*10*10m.

     

    Every next patch kills the last bits of creativity that can be put into this game. For anyone who comes here to fly in space, build nice things and so on you create obstacle by obstacle. In the early days of beta I was actively advertising the game to my friends who could spare some time to look at a new project, but now - you don't get a single worthy feature. Everything is gone.

     

    You don't log in - your items are gone. You don't pay - items are gone. You want to build a city - FNQK YOU you can build a shed and be happy with it.

    Limit is ridiculous first of all. If your famous single shard database cannot support the advertised features, stop advertising it at all. This game is a capitalist maniac ruining creativity simulator for NQ and every player is just a victim.

     

    With mining gone and MUs introduced you need AT LEAST 20 constructs to have steady supply of some ores. Add base or two, shuttle and hauler and your limit is gone. The count before the patch was reasonable - you could build things and not really bother the count, want a new ship - sure, pop a core and go on. Wanna show off - sure, put another core and build a n X-wing, death star, battlestar galactica.

    With new limit, you just put your MUs, build two brick-shaped haulers and a cubic base. Or just pack it up, dump into a sanctuary (in false hopes they won't take that from you as well).

     

    I honestly hate the whole idea of taxes but putting the infinite number of constructs behind a tax would make SOME sense. Hard limit is just jckilling the game all over again. not much left to kill now, probably worth asking legal to prepare the company liquidation.

    It does not feel like a focus of the devblog and there is no actual data on how many those missions we will have or if they will be like bots: vanishing and scarce for the early planets etc. While it's not released, it is not clear if it is good at all but the the rhetoric of the announcement putting the creation and rating into the focus makes me believing the final result will be not benefiting players who tend to play solo or in smaller cozy groups.

  4. It is quite weird of an update (like it was any different, but that is no the point of this post).

     

    If I understand correctly, mission creation and most importantly quantas, come from the players. So this means:

    - no or little missions from Aphelia or any non-existing NPC organization

    - no additional quantas generated in the system

    - money to be going from larger players, who _usually_ belong to a larger corporation, so unless you straight up jump into it, you're likely to get breadcrumbs if any at all

     

    So it does seem like a half-baked solution that will do nothing to majority, will most probably be exploited by pirates or exploiters and in the end there won't be any break from mining for anyone needing quantas for either industry, ships, ship building or anything alike.

     

    I rate this devblog 1 only for the effort but inability to solve any pressing issues.

  5. @Fra119 if we raise the issue often enough they might finally fix it. Or more probably change the tooltip or wipe the talent, you never know with these guys.

     

    So far I don't have any better points investment strategies but if I would be in the position to go full build/design mode I'd happily not have this talent. It is definitely bugged.

  6. Folks, come one, you have to be in the super secret "provide advance information for values players list".

     

    A disappointed player might notice how only person who got an email has an "Alpha Tester" badge but that is purely coincidence, there is definitely no preferential subgroup of players in this community, that would be a pure nonsense, won't it?

So, I've been on Jago recently, can confirm that the talent in its current state is just a waste of time: you do seem to get more ore (and it's the prerequisite for the Collector achievement) and probably mine faster, however, you do not get MORE ore as one would've imagined from the talent description.

     

    Not sure what was the motivation to have a mining sphere radius talent and this broken two week long time waste, but this is a game breaking bug and yet we are introducing schematics and paywalls #ragequit

  8. Actually, in my case I was not getting _more_ with clicks of tier5, but I do get more of other tiers. I was on level4 of the talent at a time.

     

    After the talents wipe, I skilled it to level 5 but with the inability to build warp cells easily I haven't been to tier5 planets yet to see if they have a hidden condition that allows more ore extracted tied to the ore and skill levels (e.g. if you are on level 4 you get +20% of ores up to tier4 and base amount for tier5).

     

    But NQ's input on the topic would be helpful.

  9. The best thing to debug the talents is to see how much every scoop gets you.

     

    For fully expanded mining sphere and a good hit you should be often getting 300+ litres of ore (400 might be the maximum and at least an achievement). Last year before the shitstorm of industries hidden behind paywall, I submitted a bug about tier5 ores ignoring the +% mined talents (I confirmed it for two tier5 ores), the ticket has been closed but I haven't seen anything mentioned in any of the  patch notes, so I guess building paywall was more important than fixing any kind of broken mechanic that would allow to scrap some quantas to build a screw.

     

    Tier 1 and tier 2 ores definitely get the buff, I've seen it working (one scoop of 350-380l), I never measured the scanned/mined for anything but tier5 where I discovered the bug but I guess mining t1/t2 fully is quite a challenge anyway.

     

    But yeah, the talent descriptions are very vague and they can just tell "you didn't understand us, it never meant to produce more ore than available" and walk away with a FU pokerface because they do whatever they want, don't they?

  10. I suggest also introducing following concepts to the game:

     

    - right to walk (sold by bots only, not granted during first login)

    - right to breath (until bought, you die of suffocation every 57s losing your inventory)

    - right to drive

      - hover vehicles

      - atmospheric ships

      - VTOL ships

      - high-atmo ships

     - space ships

     - interplanetary travel ships

     - AGG ships

     - warp drive ships (should cost at leat 1bn)

    - right to mine

     - extra money for mining anywhere but Sanctuary

     - MORE extra money for tier2+

     - tier5 should cost 1bn per ore per liter

     - also make costs retrospective, e.g. anyone who mined ore in the past should pay for the ore mined otherwise they are banned from mining

     

    Also, I think, having a bot-sold schematic to log-inis the right way to go. Obviously, schematics are for one use, so think twice if you want to go for a pee-pee. Also, premium schematics for logging in in the place you logged off, also PLATINUM TIER logging in with inventory intact.

  11. Although it is understandable the beta status of the game and NQ trying to retain as many users (that cannot fly properly) as possible, it is a really discouraging change and more discouraging is the fact that the changes were not in any patch notes.

     

    Salvaging was a profession for a few and a nice cherry on top of flying for two hours to opposite side of the planet, you never know what you might see and get, that's the thrill! And now, salvaging is pretty much picking up after devs who cannot clean the space from the constructs that were abandoned because you know, deal with it, we got a few more things to retro-break.

     

    This game of hours long mining and "creativity" needs a bit of thrill, of adrenaline, and boxes of voxels pew-pewing each other isn't that much of PvP as one would expect. That treasure hunt was one of a few alternatives even for planet dwellers, we need it back!
