  1. Assuming there will be npc monsters eventually introduced how I think the system should work is:

Lets assume we have planet A, on this planet there are certain random spawn points for monsters or general spawn areas for that matter where npc monsters will start spawning and to keep the expansion of these monsters controlled they will only expand their territories at night while they will stay in their nests and territories during the morning probably with more monsters spawning, now these monsters shouldn't give loot when killed as it introduces meaningless grinding(as lethys mentioned).

There should be no limit on as to how much these monsters can expand unless the expansion directly harms them, I am sure a polar bear would not like to live in a desert.

The players will need to make fortified settlements as protection and will need to clear out monsters so that they do not harm the cities, the only way to get rid of monsters in a particular area would be to destroy the nest and for that special mercenaries/ monster hunting groups or even the local army would need to go in the nest filled with monsters and destroy them. This situation should stop the spawning of monsters for a period of time after which either the monsters start spawning at that location or a random new spawn point is generated.

Now considering that the planets are procedurally generated, I don't know if monster infested planets will be generated or once the planet is generated then the spawning of monsters will start.

  2. As others have mentioned before, indeed automation of weapons and ships will be there to a certain extent, while I do not expect full automation Scripted turrets will definitely be a thing, now obviously they will not be as efficient as humans and as twerk put it, good scripts will have their place and will be essential to maximize the output of any and all weapons.

  3. I am excited for this project of yours, just might give me the motivation to learn LUA so that I can work on your emulator and get a basic feeling of possibly how it might work in game, ofcourse it might be completely different inside game but I am sure that if I learn LUA now I can adjust to how it will be used in game pretty easily.
Best of luck with the process, I am not sure how I can help you but best of luck :)

  4. While it has been mentioned that such a feature would probably won't be in the game, what I truly believe is that it would be really good to have.

I am personally all for materials collecting wear over time; they would need maintenance, an interesting mechanic, but also it could make materials more diverse. Some materials would be simply stronger than others, achieving less wear over longer periods; and of course they would also need better skills to attain, and be more expensive. There could also be materials which attain much more or much less wear in different biomes, kind of like you say, where the weather matters.

I totally agree with that, it would be quite awesome to have, also regular maintenance would need to be there so that the things remain in good state, this might open up another field of jobs for people who are interested in repairing stuff, maybe a restoration team or something like a garage where people go to get their stuff repaired it would be quite interesting to see.

Weathering was one of the coolest features of my favorite MMO, Wurm Online.

You could walk around the world and come across crumbling ruins in the middle of forests that were at one point someone's home. Trees would grow back, grass would grow over dirt roads, walls would crumble if not kept up over time, etc.

You could be out cutting a trail through a forest, and come across a long stretch of land that seemed to be flat (although trees had grown back over) and you'd realize that you had stumbled across someone's old road or trail they had made. Some of my best memories in Wurm involve restoring old trails that I had found, and finding projects that had been started but abandoned over the years hidden high up in the mountains accessible only via trails that had long been overtaken by the elements.

That sounds awesome, and maybe finding old ruins, lost trails and such similar stuff would bring out a new sense of adventure among everyone ;)

  5. So now that we have the option to upgrade our pledges I have some questions that hopefully will help a lot of people and of course myself.

    1) What is the time duration during which we can upgrade our pledges?

    2) Lets say hypothetically we can upgrade our kickstarter pledges till 1st of Jan 2017, where we get the kickstarter rewards, if we upgrade after that will we get the normal rewards instead of the kickstarter rewards?

    3) How many upgrades can be done? Can we upgrade from level to level? like first we upgrade from Iron to Bronze to Silver etc?

I am not sure if anybody has asked these questions before so if they did please link the post in the comments section thank you :)

  6. You can advertise your organisation in many ways,
    1) You can as Dygz said make a banner for your organization and add it to your replies.
    2) You can make a forum post about your organization on https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/forum/7-the-arkship-pub/

    3) You can privately message other players on forums about your organization but this method comes with the risk that people may not like this method and may consider your mails as spam.

    4) You could essentially promote your organization on various discord channels which are already established.

    I hope this helps :)

  7. Or they just write an API and the community can make third party tools and apps.

I would love if they do that, the different organisations can connect those API's to their own org pages and stuff or even use in their own websites and make their personalized org application though I wonder if it could be done, if it could be done that would be awesome xD
