Broote got a reaction from CoBPanther in Move Element Tool - CTRL + Click to select multiple elements for moving. (with arrow keys)
I've been moving and rearranging my base constantly as I grow, and figure out better ways to organize as well as make things a little more aesthetically pleasing.    In many instances, I need to move an entire section of containers etc and moving them one at a time is a real chore.

If I could select all of them, and move them as a group, that would save me a LOT of effort and sanity.  A big quality of life improvement.

How I see it working is the user would have the Move Element Tool equipped, and CNTRL + Left Click to mark each Element you wish to move in the group.  And Arrow Key (Shift Arrow key) them into the new location.  They would pass/fail as a group.  So if one element goes out of bounds, or collides with another the whole group goes red and cannot be placed.  Once you get them to the new position, and they are all blue and clear.  Hit enter to place them just like you would a single item being moved with arrow keys.

I understand all the features are not implemented, but I think you should consider the order of implementation.  The quoted paragraph above mentions how Trading is not good because people aren't using the markets enough.  Which leads to the desire to have people need to use the market, so the decision was to stop people from just making everything they want and lead them to purchase it instead.   I mean, I see the logic there.  However, consider the source of income.  The ONLY source of any input into the player's ownership of anything other than an empty inventory.  Mining, and the 100k login bonus.

There is no demand for things because we can make things, but there is also no income to buy things other than what we already do to make the things in the first place. Mining.  With recent changes people are forced to sell ore to to the bots and pray someone near them is selling a thing they want.  Item off world? Welp, too bad you dont have a ship yet so mine some more and maybe someday someone on your planet will be selling that thing you like for a price you can afford.

Trying not to go off on all the tangents while I rant, but the core of it is this: Add more input before you force more output.  Add things for players to do to get income, or 'progress' in some form, before adding a vacuum that sucks out income and progress.    This last update was heavy on the output when we do not have nearly enough input.  In a Dev build, its fine if there is no input/output balance because its just QA and focus testing.  But the impression for Public Beta (Paid, but public) is an expectation of playability.  The 23 update kicked that one in the pants and brought all of us to a screeching halt.

Additionally, the skill reset just happened out of nowhere.  Understandable, and maybe even needed, but have you tried to edit that training queue? I had the next 150+ days planned out.  Now its zeroed, with all my other skills.. which i have no idea if i had level 3,4 or 5.  The combination of industry stopping, schematic requirements, and rebuilding my character and queue simply to get back to less than where i was before industry wise...  not just disheartening but hours of work im just not up to doing. WORK mind you, not 'fun game time'.  Not something I look forward to, not like a chore that simply needs to be done.  Someone burned my house down and I have to get in there with a mop and start cleaning up the mess.

We will need a renewable source of ore if elements are destroyed. We need to fix bugs before adding more features / annoyances to the game. The number 1 reason I crash is because of bugs. Have fun guys!

Damage should only be perma if it is via weapon fire.

Broote got a reaction from AbnRanger375 in Dispenser - Notification and Logging
Currently the dispenser has no notification of use, or logging to that effect.  Your money is just different (when paid to you) and items removed from the container. (As expected).

Problem is if you have many dispensers around to sell various items, you have absolutely no way of determining if any of them have been used or need to be refilled other than manually checking each one.  This could be problematic if you have them at multiple marketplaces, or even multiple worlds.

Also not having a record/notification of why my money total has changed seems to me to be something that really should happen.

Broote reacted to Police in PVP IMBA / Circular Economy (PVP) / DMG (PVE/PVP)
    Strong Opinion.

tldr; pvp weapon dmg is absurd(wake up NQ), my ship elements take absurd amount of collision dmg when i land, make elements permanently destroyed.

    PVP IMBA
1.) There is a dramatically disproportionate imbalance between xs/small weapon damage and voxel HP/resistances. A 28x16 block of gold that is then covered by an 8 voxel deep shell of steel shouldn't be evaporated by 2 volleys from an Xs and 1 volley from a small weapon. Noting, this is the block that shielded the core, not even mentioning the amount of exterior ship shell and elements that that the damage also went through to get to the core's interior block. PVP fights shouldnt ideally be who got the first two shots wins... unless one of the players is sitting on top of gas tank, with no actually enclosed cockpit.. just free balling it.

    DMG (PVE/PVP)
2.) Not only is weapon damage to voxel absurd, There are times when i land.. even super smooth at 32 kmh, with Medium landing gear, and a random 1-3 large adjustors or a random medium wing will "pop" (take full damage). Sure.. most times i land and that doesnt happen, but absolutely its super easy to have several elements just pop from the most trivial landings. This really needs to be adjusted. Either doubling the amount of element health, which would rightly so carry over to pvp, or reduce collision damage by 70%

    Circular Economy (PVP)
3.) I have lots of comments about game loops that are great in spirit, "ok" in execution, and mediocre in terms of how quickly they are being addressed/revisited/tweaked. I think the biggest oversight is that people are taking from the earth, fabricating stuff like crazy, and everything that is being fabricated and going into the economy, isn't coming back out. If the items aren't exiting the economy, consumers aren't spending or acquiring and the market stagnates and suffers. If someone blows up my ship and takes possession, I  might need to go farm and make another.. but the original Ship I lost, technically stays in the economy, and fails to leave, and fails to cause further consumerism. Elements need to be destroyed fully, to where they are either then removed by player and deleted, or the game itself removes elements once they are reduced to zero health. Alternatively.. a thing they had back in Ultima Online, which was awesome.. a persons crafting level would impact how many times the crafted item could be repaired. So example.. the elements could have a special use count.. wherein each time they are repaired they lose one increment of that repair/use. Once they hit zero, they are gone foor good. And maybe crafting incorporates something where if the person who crafted is a tier 4 crafter/t4 proficiency, the item gets an additional 2-5 repairs or something along those lines.  Something along these lines has to occur, its only been a couple of weeks and everyone I know is already hoarding oooooodles of containers full of rubbish because nothing is exiting the economy.

Thanks for your time to read.

Broote reacted to Neoki in Add Note to Inventory Menu (Container/Nanopack) about "Select All"
My friend and I have been playing for a about a week now, and today by accident I discovered that CTRL-Double Left Click within the inventory does a select all function in containers/nanopacks. I couldn't find this in any ingame tooltips, we've actually been annoyed thinking this didn't exist and have been manually selecting via CTRL+Left Click 1 by 1 to drag multiple items around.

This is mostly a "Newbie Help" item, to add it to the context menu where I see there is room left for more tool-tips. Please see screen capture for my suggestion to add this tool-tip.
