  1. I believe the element destruction is a have to, the only question is how. The proposed method is OK as long as there is a way to recycle the 2/3 and 1/3 modified parts. Introduce some kind of "forge". Forge takes input from container and outputs for each element that is: 1/3 -> roughly 20% of the ingots required to create it 2/3 -> roughly 30% of the ingots required to create it 3/3 -> roughly 40% of the ingots required to create it The numbers should of course be well thought thru so it doesn't make building with skills and refining back profitable etc but there has to be a way to deal with useless 1/3 parts and other junk. Edit: and a repair unit functionality to swap all modified elements to new ones while putting modified units to container. Running around your ship all the time is just a time consuming and boring after 2nd time.
  2. I remember being slapped to other people constructs just when bypassing them in the market. Once it almost flew away with me while I was just passing by it. It's not as critical as you just waste some scrap if it happens now so no biggie but with element destruction it can turn into a griefing activity without any way of protecting yourself from the Mario heroes. Like I am coming from EVE online, people get creative to grief there. No wonder that same will happen here.
  3. From the announced dev blog, any crash will now render elements "modified", 3 crashes make them requiring a replacement. Plan A: 10 cans of hematite to crafting queue, AGG ship above District 6 market. Let's play Mario jumping on the turtles. Plan B: Nanopack skills to max, Catalyst 3 full inventory, AGG ship above District 6 market, let's play Mario jumping on the turtles. For those who are less familiar with game mechanics: If an avatar with mass X jumps on top of your ship while you are flying. X-20tons is added to your ship mass instantly. Full inventory of catalyst 3 is >3,000 tons. Thoughts ?
  4. Yea at least that. I don't get how NQ planned it. What should gunners do when you fly around searching for targets. They just get bored and never come again. Edit: I don't even care about paying some kind alternative to EVE "second character training queue" that would train my surrogate thingy etc. DU needs the money and I don't care spending some as long as I enjoy at least some of it and see future.
  5. Good ideas imho. The industry on ships, even if runs on like 1/10 speed will still be cool but useless and will not compete with regular factories. (Adding a lot of factories will make it very heavy to move anyway) Gunners, that's a really bad thing to have. I can already build a ship bigger than I have gunners for + what do gunners do ? Sit and wait 99% of the time ?
  6. W1zard has created the ticket and attached all we have. W1zard can you please put here the ticket id or whatever it is he needs ? Still don't get why you can't just say what was your experience. I mean, the gunner-killer bug. NQ knows it happens and it benefits everyone that we all know that this is what happens so we can compensate. It's not like we damage the "image of DU" by discussing a bug in a beta game. There are a lot of bugs, this is expected as the game is in beta. Making a list of it so everyone knows about it makes a level playing field instead of only Big Orgs knowing the bugs and being able to cope while rest are left in the dark. Edit: It's not like a dupe-bug or something that can ruin the game and it is better to not share as people will dupe and economy will fail. It's some kind of glitch of ship just disapearing and don't know what, appearing elsewhere ? Did it stay there ? Did it see us just standing and staring at him ? The ship in the video was about 100km from it when it disappeared.
  7. Thanks but I don't need any kind of reimbursement. it would be nice to get an explanation from the other side explaining how this crap happened. It's obvious they know about things going wrong. Where is the "I am the pilot of S/XS/M core ship" of that flotilla guys. Don't you want to come forward and help NQ fixing this and looking at your logs so they can see the bug and what happened ? May be provide an info like, when you did that I had that and maybe it's because of that ? The gunner-killer crashing bug is being reported since start of beta and is yet to be fixed but all PVP folks know about this bug they learned to compensate. Explaining what happened here can level the playing field too. Maybe we can understand what went wrong together but it doesn't seem anyone from AC/HYP wanna talk.
  8. I don't think making Tier 2+ industry units will solve infinite industry problem or anything. It will make industry harder to get to for new comers that don't have resources. Industry magnates will just upgrade once and forget about it. It makes even more capitalism. Whoever owns large capital benefits even more.
  9. There were like 10 guys flying that flotilla. Their leadership knows what happened and how. Where is the explanation from their side ? Some of them already posted replies here but still don't explain what exactly happened on their side. I under no circumstances claimed anyone did use an exploit or accused anyone. I explained what I have seen and what happened and it does look fishy.
  10. We didn't accuse NQ of cheating. In past, there was 1 instance that happened to one of the participants that a target ship under attack was teleported by the GMs due to request in the discord channel. When this happened the first thing that we all thought is that it was teleported by the GMs so we all started writing in the support channel that the ship under attack was teleported demanding it be brought back to the battlefield. NQ staff from discord confirmed that they did not teleport this ship.
  11. The video is 1) It's nice you don't deny threatening me with EULA. 2) I did provide video, you banned w1zard(he recorded the video) from your discord so he couldn't share it with you. 3) Let's not judge, let's the community see and everyone to decide for themselves. Fly dangerous. o/
  12. We will submit tickets, I posted this to share my experience with the community.
  13. We all know the state of PVP is beyond miserable and big engagements are rare. Here is our story of what you get when you try. We spotted an AC HYP Flotilla leaving Locobus to Alioth. They had 3 XS ships, 1 S ship and 1 M ship. We were heavily outgunned so we had to improvise. The plan was to kite the XS ships away by showing only 1 XS core and then engage the M core with the rest of our ships (We had 2 S, 1 XS) Part 1) The trap: I am the pilot of the first XS ship that burned from alioth to intercept and then aligned back so they "catch up to me". The rest of the ships were held closer to Alioth (like 10 SU from me) so they engaged only once I kited the XS away. AC HYP flotilla cached up to me at about mid-way from Locobus to Alioth. I accelerated to max speed and got the M-Core at about 1-SU and opened fire with 4 L Railguns. About 5min later the XS cores undocked from the M-Core as expected but couldn't catch up to me as we were at max speed. M-Core started slowing down forcing me to slow down too so the XS cores can get a lock on me at closer range. I started changing trajectory as the XS cores were now slowly approaching me as I was not at max speed and slowly taking the XS cores away from the M-Core trajectory to alioth. Part 2) The sheep: Once I got the XS cores trajectory very well off the alioth trajectory, I instructed the rest of the ships to slow down and engage (so the M-Core that is heading to alioth will catch up with them, now without escort). That worked and the XS cores got their trajectories all messed up and flew in different directions leaving the M-Core ship alone with 2 of our S-cores (about 16 L guns) opening fire on the M-Core. The M-Core, left alone without escort, decided to run to Alioth and accelerated to max speed. I changed my speed vector the other way and had intercepted the M-Core too (that was not planned but luck was on our side). We now had about 22 L Railguns all engaging the defenseless M-Core freighter. Part 3) The way out: We were firing at the M-Core ship for about 20 minutes and then one of our gunners reported a player-kill + a crash. It happens when you kill an avatar, a known bug since the start of beta. The gunner-killer crashes. The M-Core ship suddenly stopped (I assume, anyone who was on-board logged off or was dead). We all burned all our fuel to slow down and verified that the M-Core ship is now standing still and is a sitting duck. All our ships started approaching and continued fire on the M-Core ship and trying to evade some XS-cores that finally arrived to try to save the M-Core freighter. Our own M-Core heavy gunship friend was about 40SU away and now burning towards us from Alioth so we didn't worry about XS cores spread all over as they are now outgunned and disorganized. The M-Core ship started trying to repair some parts and accelerating but it had all it's engines down due to being under constant fire of about 22 L Railguns for the last 20 minutes. It started spinning and couldn't keep up with the repair. Then, when AC HYP Gizzly ran out of options to survive, this happened: For those who don’t understand what happens, The M-Core is standing still, is under fire (so the warp drive is in cooldown) and it suddenly just disappears. All 4 of our ships on field (about 12 players) just had it vanish from their radar. Can I get the skill to switch Universe too ? This is Dual Universe. When I asked in Hyperion discord for comment, they threatened me that disclosure of this violated EULA and I will get a ban. I believe I can disclose the footage of my video and share my experience. I don't see any EULA violation here.
  14. You make a valid point and I tend to agree with you. I don't know the numbers etc for mincraft as I have never tried it. If that thing still grows then it can be that builders MMO can work - I just never been in such games so have no clue. Isn't Mincraft a shard based thing with wipes and not a fully fledged MMO ? EVE is MMO without wipes etc.
  15. Am I the only one that thinks that making an MMO for "builders" is mission impossible ? (I am not talking SecondLife and sexual minorities etc) Like, doesn't matter how much resources you allocate to adding new features for building. There will always gonna be other games that are fresh and interesting and builders will wanna try that one out as nothing of the MMO part really matters for them other than "showing off". Currently the PVP guys are not interested and not trying the game due to lack of pvp, builder guys leave as they "got enough of it". The technical difficulties involved in making the building process work in MMO just make the process slower than in a non-mmo project so DU has a hard time keeping up. Building ships etc that what makes the DU unique, there was no MMO that allowed for that but it's not the building part that's a gem. It's the MMO part IHMO.
  16. Very well written and I fully agree. It's the same for me, I don't try to bring friends atm as they will get bored. We don't ask to turn alioth to PVP etc. The game needs a safe zone for new players to grow in and for those who don't care about PVP. 3 planets and space between them is fine. The T4/T5 etc ores should be the PVP areas, no safety there, wild west. Get us some drama-lama !
  17. The offloading part of some stuff to clients randomly can be a nice tech tbh. Of course it brings a lot of questions about reliability etc but benefits are obvious. Our rigs run anyway and they have a lot of computing power in both CPU and GPU. if while playing it calculates stuff to make the game work better I am all for it. Even if that something is a market transaction 500su away as next time mine will be calculated faster by someone too.
  18. The bitcoin thing is no more than a laugh really. It can easily be detected and anyone with IDA skills would be happy to make himself a rep of "self-employed security researcher" blabla by finding and disclosing it. NQ know that. I think the terrible performance is due to 1) The programming philosophy at NQ is currently: Let's just make it work somehow, performance doesn't matter 2) By the time and if the game gets popular, user PCs will be faster (like RTX 30xx series) etc.
  19. That's a very valid explanation. Safe zone confirmation can definitely be the reason for space cores being in high demand.
  20. Tell them where I touched you. Don't be shy.
  21. It's missing from the item description and that pretty critical info about it. Does anyone know the range you warp to ?
  22. <sarcasm>how do devs supposed to hold it with sub at only 6$/month when all the games are like 10-14$/month ? They compensate with bitcoin miner.</sarcasm>
  23. It is not when you are killed, it's when you kill. The gunner that has killed someone is crashing when he kills him. Sometimes he crashes when he kills the core too(probably as killing the core kills the player aboard enemy ship). It's almost 100% crash when you kill, I can provide a video when we are killing a ship and the video is cut into 3 peaces because each time my gunner was killing the person aboard that ship and crashing so the video stopped. The gunner log shows the kill of the player in the last seconds of each video. The other bug I hear about is that radar skills work opposite: When you train a skill, you lock targets longer (opposite to what it should be) With current limited and very hard to get PVP there will not be many reports as most people, even if they try, can't find any PVP...
  24. I am kinda losing hope tbh, so many things are just done wrong. No the dev part that obviously takes time. The simple stuff that just makes game better if anyone would care.
