As far as I know, developers did say a little about game requirements. I remember that "a today's good computer or tomorrow's medium computer should be fine" or something like that.

A nice alternative to wars and mining resources. I guess larger factions will be eventually creating something like that - as a form of training, for fun; whatever.

DU is going to be very different from NMS for several reasons. However if you are looking for a variety of planet types etc you may want to look at a different game. DU has a focus on player-driven emergent gameplay which may produce some variety or it may not, it depends on the players. In any case I don't know how applicable a lot of these points are with DU as there is unlikely to be a lot of NPCs or anything really not player made. They have said in their last question answering session that currently they have the sun rotating around planets (the easiest solution) but they want to put planets in fixed points and make them spin. There shouldn't be automated landing unless someone can make a script for it I imagine. Planet classification/ Planet or System Scanners would be good. The combat I have yet to see any instance of so I'm not sure how that would pan out although it may be a little like the combat in EVE or a traditional MMO (tab targeting). Really this thread has little to relate to DU directly as it is a critique of a different game with completely different objectives

I hope such devices will be available. However, as an amateur programmer, I'm really looking forward to building some kind of programmable mining machines

Who said about having to use a machine - with the right level of technology "Mining Lasers" are quite a possibility - and would be far more efficient at doing it in the long run.

Yes, a core could contain lots of valuable resourcss but, for the sake of balance, your drilling machines could no longer work there, due to overheating. Thus, drilling to the core would require advanced, expensive technology.

Will drilling into core of a planet be possible? What about building giant faction headquaters in the planet's center? Have developers mentioned about it yet?

"Another splendid idea. Instead of keeping the cargo inside the crafts, we could tow around a container like in Eve...The problem is: the skills to construct that thing won't come easy. By skills I mean the in game training. Some real science investment would need to go into that."

Blueprints were discussed, for example here: board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/453-ship-blueprints/. It's likely they will appear in game.

It's hard for me to imagine 30 FPS or more during a battle involving three or more large - thousands voxels each - spaceships. It's likely that some aspects of game will bring FPS loss - no matter how top-of-the-line PC you have.
I'm curious how many computations servers will do. Splitting tasks between server and our PCs would be good for performance, but it would also make a great opportunity for cheaters.

Hello everyone. I'm curious how realistic the game sound will be. For example: will you be able to hear an explosion of another vessel, in space? I would play with realistic audio with pleasure, but surely there are people who simply like explosions . That's why I think game could offer two audio modes. What do you think about it?

well there would still be sounds like impact engines and other ambient sounds as well as when your in an atmosphere the sounds would be normal. you just won't be able to hear a gunshot without the vibrations somehow being able to travel to so so if its on another ship a little distance away you won't here it but if its on yours you will

"If only there was something like a radio channel. I'm referring to the kind that's in Saints Row IV. That was a beauty and it still allowed you to add your own soundtracks. Space is silent--as far as sound coming from outside is true. But, who's to say that we can't have sounds inside our crafts?"

Yes, eventually it may become annoying, but for some time... There aren't many games that can offer realistic space.

At the beginning (when game comes out), customization of suits and vessels' color would be enough. Later, we could get the ability to print texts, maybe images on them.
