  1. My ideas for that is naming like a mix between that you said and the exoplanets in RL, so you have the name of the player/org who discovered the solar system / group of planets, then the number of this solar system, and then the letter for the planet.

     

    For example, I just discovered a new planet (the third) in the sixth solar system I found. The name would be ttcraft0-6C. And for the most crowded/known planets, there would be a "custom" name. For example the first planet would be NQ-1A but the devs gave it a name (I don't remember it ^^)

     

    For moons, let's say I find 2 moons for my planet. Their names (in the order I discovered them) will be ttcraft0-6Ca and ttcraft0-6Cb for example.

     

    Continents and oceans : I don't really know ^^

     

    Territory : same thing

     

     

    + Cities : custom, or if you can't find a good name : [planet]-[number of the city]

  3. - Caves and underground cities don't have access to sunlight, so it's impossible to farm food crops. They would have to be imported from farm on the surface (Possible solution: In minecraft you can harvest crops under the surface using "light blocks" (don't know the name), so maybe you can farm also under the surface with special artificial light in greenhouses.)

    OK so your answer for crops underground in MC :

    - Light : torches, glowstone, sea lanterns, powered redstone lamps. But usually torches. And it works very well.

    - To let the daylight fall : glass, stairs, and other transparent blocks.

    Hello everyone

     

    I saw a lot of spaceships designs, but no idea if we could have elements to make our ship not flying but floating (boats) or rolling (tanks, cars, ...)

     

    If we could, it would be great for the transportation systems who doesn't have to fly (between 2 cities on the same planet for example).

     

    The elements like wheels, floats, etc, would be less expansive, because you know, it's slower and we can't fly ^^

    But it's cool for tiny budgets who don't have to fly.

     

    Maybe we could have special (and cheaper) cockpits who don't allow to fly but, with the elements for it, to have for example a car, a boat, or a mix like some able to float tanks.

     

    Aaaaand for more thrust on more futuristic boats, we could place spaceship thrusters but it would be more expansive of course (and the cockpit would still blocking any flight).

    OK this last idea is a bit mad x)

    I agree with the end but if the largest organizations have already the technology, why would they spend time and resources in an useless exploration ? And for the smallest ones, finding alien ruins would be something epic and very interesting :)

  6. I played robocraft... and to hell with stability. GUNS GUNS GUNS!

     

    My ships will have way more guns then necessary. I'll sacrifice everything for brute force. I'll surround them with tiny ships also with way to many guns.

     

    If your ship is on the back and can't move because of it, bombers will love you :P

    Putting too much SMGs is... not realy the best idea x)

    I prefer playing with Rail Cannons :D

    Always think of strategy (in DU like in Robocraft)

  7. Would it be cool to have a neutral planet(player designated)that could be used for many things like treaties between Factions or a safehaven in case of war.What do you think?

    The planet where you spawn ? The desertic next to it ?

  8. I must admit, I'm a little confused.

    Novaquark released the in-game pre-alpha footage. It looked awesome, it was smooth, it conveyed all of the tech they promised and it showed how it was possible to have the vision they have.

    Yet, when I went on the subreddit, 133 subscribed.

    I come on the forums, and there are just a couple dozen active people.

    WHAT is HAPPENING. I feel like I've gone insane.

     

    How can this game not have a larger following? We've been griping as a community for a game like this for years. Years and years. Practically every day there are posts in Space Engineers of people wishing for a larger scope, more multiplayer. Every day on the No Mans Sky reddit about wishing for multiplayer and more customization. Every day in modded minecraft about something new and progressive but somehow keeps that emergent game-play.

    These are very different games, every one of them, and yet the ideals they dream for are almost all contained in Dual Universe.

    There are so many broken promises out there, Unsung Story, Broken Age, Areal, Sticks and Starships, Planet Explorers, on and on. Games that never even made it to the stage that Dual Universe is showing as a PRE Alpha.

    I'm telling all of my friends. I'm sharing photos and videos like a 35 year old woman who just got her third cat. And I hope you are all doing the same.

    This is a game we have all been waiting for for a long time. Let's make sure they know it.

    I talked about DU to my family, to the community of a big modded french Minecraft server and I hope I brought 10 or 15 players on DU :) There were 27 votes on the second strawpoll for the name of my organization, I hope a part of them will play !

     

    And yes DU is an epic game
