  1. website based sounds good, i was afraid about how to access them on inactive accounts
  2. Pretty sure he meant no light because exit velocity of black hole too high.
  3. I don't think it's fair to hate on that and probably didn't take that much time either.... That being said I would 't have known where to start and couldn't be bothered to find out either... It's uuugh... Let's just forget about it. Even though I'm not feeling great about the game RN, just let them when they try something new, not everything needs to be for everybody.
  4. I can relate a lot eventhough my reaction is a bit different... I'm starting to want them to wipe, a reasonable partial wipe wouldn't be so bad, I don't think it's a realistic option and we will probably get f*-all or consider ourselves lucky to get talent points on top of BP... bEcAuSe BaLaNcInG... which is ironic because most BP will be broken from the new collision, and there is cases where someone acquired blueprints that are inherently more problematic than talent points... That's why I wager we will get a fullwipe. And I'm starting to be down for it... Long term I want the game to do well but ATM I am so disgruntled that I need to see a fullwipe faceplant, and if in consequence the game doesn't make it out alive... well let's just say that bothers me much less than a month ago.
  5. Yes it will be most smooth and 100% guaranteed bug and exploit free. Your post is well thought out and realistic.
  6. I proposed it once, but I'll repeat myself: I think our asteroids should be supplemented by ONE mega asteroid... T3-T5 would stay dispersed on the small asteroids but every week we'd basically get something of a size between an asteroid and a moon, to mine T1 and T2 by hand. That leads to people who want to play really actively meeting eachother more frequently, the spacebody needs to be just large enough that 50-100 working on it don't constantly triangulate the same note, but still frequently see other players in range, enabling them to meet eachother organically, and possibly to form groups to venture out where there is more risk/reward. For the others leave the spawn as is if you must, but for the mega asteroid drop the weekend thing... Just spawn in another mega asteroid when the first one is 60-75% empty, then have the old one vanish when there are no players around it. It would be a noob hub, a primary place for newcomers to progress and meet up. edit: I also like the idea of planet healing eventhough that's most likely out of scope, and a total pipedream by now. But if they did it, they'd need to add a twist: only unclaimed tiles heal (or only them heal quickly)... Now that's bound to force migration! Voila now tiles don't get permaclaimed... BTW they could do something similar with MU... but MU are just so tedious and such non-gameplay, that in an MU based economy, the prospect of tile depletion doesn't sound fun at all! When demeter dropped I made my peace with MU, but actually the game was more of immersive first person game and less of a glorified browser game (that requires a beefy PC) before the introduction of MU. I tried to stay positive. Especially once I got the impression that the new management tried to have a constant content drip to keep us busy. But with the wipe discussion and consequently the stuff NQ openly and tacitly admitted to... Ugh, I hope you like the game as it is, the time for patience and positivity is over (not that most of you ever had any).
  7. About 40k tiles claimed on sanctuary, allegedly 4k active accounts. How many alts among it nobody knows, let's just ignore the question: The aforementionned last ditch effort? Let's be foolish and say 36k subscriptions, and let's be generous and say for 3 months (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! laughing.my.ass.off) 36 000 x 26,97 = 970 920€ Just short of a million bucks that Nouredine Abboud is hoping to point at when presenting himself at a new job; optimistic I say. No reason to assume DU is his love child. The fully wiped launch is a product and wipists are asking to be sold it again, after allready paying once. Stop playing yourself.
  8. We can dig out the quote and you can play yanny and laurel again, but it's not rocket science it said that they'd like to avoid and not reserve the option to wipe. FFS Avoid it and insofar it's unavoidable, yes, technically the statement opens the door to a wipe.... To represent that as if the statement meant "wipe, schmipe we might totally wipe one day" is disengenous Just... there is nuance, and then there is concerntrolling, pedantism, and sophistry... NQ makes open-ended statements so they can less easily held to their word, be painted as liar or hypocrites, yes they are clusmy AF at it and would most likely benefit from making their mistakes more relatable and transparent, to bring things into the realm of parasocial relationships, because RN it's a little too apparant how "top-down" things are meant.
  9. 36 pages in I can say with confidence the quality of the arguments both side deliver is night and day fullwipe = pandering to thoughtlessness still I can't help but feel that NQ, or at least new direction, wants to hedge their bets on churning through thousands of players that simply don't bring the patience to even remotely appreciate the product for what it is, after their honeymoon phase with the game has passed I have never been as pessimistic about the development... I honestly felt that things were taking a turn for the better these past months. pfff but what are you going to do if all people do is complain... sigh Condoleances (literally) to the working staff.
  10. idk, what ore I mine, if I don't craft stuff from it, I stockpile it, I finance my tiles through missions, but only in safezone, so I don't have a lot of overhead, which I'm putting aside to get all the advanced schematics i wanted to buy... I'm a slug, like an overly possessive greedy slug with no ambition When I joined the alpha I tried a lot of stuff, the double wipe utterly killed my ambitions, that shortlived server before the launch was so lame, I played way too hard and in the end something came up IRL and I didn't even get to try weapons on the last weekend, nothing to show for but a stupid stockpile of ore. Then, honestly I kinda forced myself at launch to stockpile stuff, utterly burning myself out from the game, I went at it even harder, this time it was supposed to be for real. Burned out to the point that I'm not even revising my strategies anymore, whenever I have energy to spare on the game I accumulate stuff in case I actually want to play some day, I just know I don't like using t3-t5 because I can't provide them with my robotical daily logins, don't have the schematics nor the talents yet, and I don't want to spend money I could be spending on schematics. Ugh what am I even doing here. I hate starting over in this game, I've done it too often in too short'a'time, and I suck at/ don't know how to/ detest to ask for help. All the people I tried to lure into the game with my keys went from quickly desinterested, to total disaster one has to throw out of their rdms. How exactly am I going to half-ass this in a way that reflects how I feel without totally giving up? Daily-login quanta until I have 4 MU... then I might as well sell ore for a while, until I have a scanner a claim, because F* picking up stones and micromanaging the nanopack to get industry quickly, only to be stuck on schematics, AND ALSO F REMOVING SCHEMATICS IF THATS THE MOVE NOW HONESTLY IN A PARANOID AND EGOCENTRIC FRAME OF MIND IT SEEMS LIKE THE GOAL OF THIS GAME IS [filtered] ME INTO THE ROLE OF A MINING SLAVE NO FUN FOR YOU SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AFTER SOME SPACEWRECK DAY1 LOOSER hehe how depressing I shoud cut my losses just go play another spacegame.
  11. Yup. Back at beta-release I was able to put in 16h a day, quickly get on my feet, and rush out there to a least get a few scoops of every ore before it becomes unsafe. After that I became terrified and never ventured out of the safezone again. Like I'm going to risk days of grind to some greasy tryhard nope nope nope lol, call me carebear all you want, I just value my time more than money, one is replacable, the other isn't. After a wipe there won't even be those opportunities. Like I could ever get an exotic MU and some use out of it, solo, before someone stalks me down, which is way easier to do when one know where I'm taking off from... I'm allready completly resolved to the idea of being restrained to T1-T2 ore after wipe. Not eager to find out just how much of that frustration (knowing all the items I never tried because of schematics, and never will try because of brave new world) I'm going to give myself before admitting to myself the game is just not for me... probably way too much. The issue is I still actually want to play the game DU was supposed to be -.-... maybe not super actively, maybe not now on the spot, but I was fine to log in everyday and do a little micromanaging in order to be able to go super hard, the day I really want to create design and invent. I'm not sure I've EVER shown so much patience for anything in my life. pfff 😟
  12. Aren't those "invalid exploity" stats? Would be super ironic to put the guys "who ruined it for everyone" (...) on a pedestal, and just erase to never see or care again of anything regular players did. And a leaderboard, like for seasons, in a sandbox just... Everytime I read something that is super out of touch to the people who actually played, maybe still are playing, I can't help myself to get bitter and wish for their desires to be fullfilled in the worst possible ways. There are obvious problems with that though, let's just say realistically even if I halfass my efforts after a wipe, because I'm spiteful, two years of patiently managing a reduced number of MU down the line I'm the one getting my orders of magnitude bigger efforts wiped for another season when our champs show up for another round of complaining. Let's just skip to the end of the slippery slope and call 'em seasons... yeeeeaaah this makes me so happy.
  13. "There were an insane amount of exploits that let people get to endgame within the first week, so I stopped playing. My friends and I check in on the game periodically to see if it will wipe. If it does, we'll play, if not, we won't. Simple as that. I know a lot of other people in the situation." As I said it's a matter of public perception... I reckon slightly short of half the population will need to see to see this terrible mistake enacted, and nothing short of witnessing the trainwreck will put to rest their fixed ideas. FFS the guy literally admits he threw the towel within weeks. The biggest irony about it how they will litter again, once they drop the game like a hot potato, so in the "long" run a wipe won't even cleanup old trash like blaze loves to tell us.
  14. Just to be exact cpnlores, that quote was from blazemonger but when I do real quotes text editing goes haywire on my phone. TBF hellogames had a few hard lessons to learn too, but they handled it commendably.
  15. "It is my opinion that the only way DU can really be completed to a state it deservs to be "released" would be to pull it back, the devs to hunker down and pull a NMS, but that requires both financial security and the willingness to do so which is something I believe NQ does not in either case. It feels liek they want to get it over with, sink or swim and move on. The focus for NQ is not DU, it is keeping NQ alive and DU will not be what makes that happen, something I have always believed to be the case and which only now is starting to bubble to the surface from the NQ side." You just made made me realize something: For me, personally, it would be a much easier swallow if we went back to closed servers that occasionally open like in alpha, give 'em a few years, then come back to a "new game" wiped on launch... Much much easier swallow than to botch this launch because people have opinions...
  16. *Longest inhale ever preparing myself to shout balpha on wipe date*
  17. You'd probably have a better case suing over some cosmetic BS since it was in the selling contract... Whereas suing for lack of persistence, too vague, hell half the playerbase doesn't seem to see the issue with it, let alone some geriatric judge.
  18. It's corny still enjoyed the F out of that JFK quote... Played many games you listed but never touched NMS thinking it was too ambitious and they wouldn't be able to deliver, I was much fonder of NQ's approach/marketing/lack thereof... Funny how that went, there is still time though.
  19. Am I the densest of MF who makes it a matter of personal pride to loose time on game? Guess what if a game is objectively better by not savescumming I don't, if it isn't I do... Because guess what: RL prevails over some fake sense of accompmishement.
  20. Yeah I'm sure you've been exclusively playing games where progress is gated by timers that can not be completed in an evening gaming session, for 30 years. Go cry in a corner but spare me the protestant work ethics. I don't care if some got rich illegitimately, because like 4 days into launch there were allready huge balancing issues and I made a conscious choice back then to focus on my progress and what I can do, and that I'm not going to put it in question everytime there is a new ooopsie.
  21. Pragmatically you are right but it's all in the court of public perception... It's not about what it will achieve, but about what people feel, people that for the most part allready left us once...
  22. Honestly if there were a solution like this I wouldnt even bother to figure out how to port over the most value, one of each industry elements (mine are still just uncommon) the rest I just fill it up with as many containers I can fit.
  23. I was saying saying the market WOULD be broken IF there were such a whale. In practice it's hardly doable since you would need to be physically everywhere to snag everything up, and even then people could still just barter. As it stands it's to be expected that the demand is low, but I'm not even sure loads of elements breaking would change that... In general people want money to be able to buy schematics, and once they're past that gate, they kinda don't need money anymore and if anything start flooding the markets themselves with more supply. That being said all the things you proposed in your first post are valid suggestions. I wish there were a point in debating them but apparantly we're not gonna get any major updates before launch.
  24. It is amazing how they come with this right? If the market were truely broken, somebody would be so rich they can afford to buy EVERYTHING and then resell at exorbitant prices. Instead we are worried prices are too low, in an abundance economy where the price of raw materials is best described as spending time on a hobby... As if we needed to entitle everybody individually to set the selling price they want, have it be sold anyway and casually rule out basic economics while we're at it; as if that was an option.
