  1. Fully agree on that th @genXcQ Manage expectations, be real about dev cycle lengths (things dont change overnight) and hope they back up their clearer stance against exploiters. And well, track record in the midst of server issues I dont mind giving a slide.
  2. What does your opinion of the state of the game have to do with people using an exploit to dupe others?
  3. Just because possibly a known bug doesnt make it ok to exploit. Ever.
  4. Stop claiming NQ will not act. They stated they will have zero tolerance going forward. Lets see if thats true
  5. If you want to dock on a ship on your own territory, you have to give yourself Parenting rights on the territory.
  6. Argue the contrary all you want, they have decided it is not "not-actually-exploits" and just "amorally" . It is circumventing game mechanics which are not intended to be circumvented. That is an exploit. Sugar coat it all you want. All we want is actual pvp, not exploiters abusing stuff so much people quit the game or they break a perfectly working docking mechanic to stop ya'll. If you cared for a open pvp world, you would see the reason in wanting better mechanics rather then looking for loopholes.
  7. Well, its gotten a lot better over the last 3 weeks compared to beta launch weekend
  8. Discuss with me rather then starting the name- calling veiled behind "wise" expressions. Then why do you defend actions that are hurt the game as a whole? Just to add to that. I am a staunch advocate of balanced pvp mechanics, and feel that eventually its gonna be organisational influence affecting which real game areas (so starter area excluded) are gonna be safer and less safe. No, that does not mean I want a fair fight, thats not how you win fights. However, as long as there is a designated safe-zone, violating that game mechanic is an exploit.
  9. Thats not how NQ judged. Thats not how the majority of players judge. My question, answer truly: Have you personally done this now labeled exploit?
  10. And I can live with people that did this getting a warning this time around, but I will fight for against their efforts to get away with it. Edit: With that, I mean getting away with staving it off as being fine.
  11. It literally says in the declaration that it was an exploit
  12. This discussion is what people like you have been using as defense for what finally has been deemed an actual exploit. With that, blaming the person of an unwise action for the crime in any way is a moot point, one so far only used by those often claiming "it wasnt an exploit" or "its a grey area". NQ gave us clarification. It IS and WAS an exploit. As such, unless you read the discord swamp, you could not expect an unclaimed tile in a pvp disabled zone to be at risk of pvp. Especially new players. Unwise?, yes, to blame? no. We want repeat offenders of exploits punished.
  13. No need to disrespect the victims. They didnt lose their crappy ships, they lost hours of time investment in a place where they shouldnt lose them. With the whataboutism. It is fine to call for all exploits to get punishment in my eyes. Just that this post was about this specific case. And this case is very public and well documented,.
  14. I dont believe their voice is why they weren't banned tho. I think NQ had a good long discussion about where they want to be drawing the line going forward, and this was the easy way out in terms of punishment
  15. Deflection from said statement with "whataboutism" only distracts from the fact stated above. It is no longer about what is in the past, but how things are being dealt with now, and in the future.
  16. I dont feel a lot of people argued "this is fine" it was a very very vocal minority steering the discord discussion for days on end.
  17. Watch a movie? Netflix, youtube videos, read up on locomotion physics and orbital physics, play other games, do your taxes, say I love you to your wife/husband/partner, write a will, go back to school
  18. Theyll be up in the announcements forum.

  20. Everybody will play this game solo at one point or another, even if theyre in an org. From all the devblogs, I can see that the direction its going means you can do a lot of the game solo. Some things will take more time, and you'll have to mine for yourself probably early on, and accept that sometimes youll get robbed. But all the other signs are on green I think. Now keep in mind that just like other games, some things just dont click solo. You cant really build a huge city without it becoming a ghost town if you dont have friends/org. Building big ships will take a lot more time compared to orgs. Exploring territory is more dangerous. But nothing stops you from doing so. If I compare it to WoW, there you can get close to the best alone. But to keep progressing gear and skill you need a guild or at least competitive friends. You can still get max level on your own and get a good starting point in gear, and if your timesink and ambition ends there, thats already a good amount of time spent gaming. Its the same in every other MMO really.
  21. Hi everyone! Happy to be on the forums, found out last week about DU, and I must say, it is looking very promising. As this is an introduction section, Ill take a moment to introduce myself hah. So my tag is Samlow, or Vuurmannetje on Twitch. I live in the Netherlands, and have been gaming as long as I can remember, all the way from when I was a kid. I was lucky that my father was one of the first ICT people in the Netherlands, so we always had a computer. He even installed some games for me and my brother. Over the years Ive played many a game, but builders, strategy and space oriented games stuck to me the most. Tho Ive played WoW in competitive PVE as well, and the occasional shooter, I always prefer games with a strategic or tactical element to them. Ive sunk many an hour into modded minecraft, then found out about From the Depths, a game akin to this one and space engineers, albeit focussed on building ocean ships at the time, with flight being an option. Back when I found that gem, making anything large fly was a challenge, one that I overcame. The game has come a long way since, but before that I did systems concept design on the dev team for it, and created some iconic NPC faction units currently still in the game. Now one of the appeals of FTD was making units for the sole purpose of having them added to the NPC factions, and even then the standards were high. Now ever since stepping back from that game, there is some form of void, I play minecraft skyblock every now and then still, but its not the same. Couldnt get into starmade as construction for me was too abstract. And then we found Dual Universe. It was almost a blind backing. Wouldve probably done so in the kickstarter if I had known about it. Im familiar with alphas due to FTD and as such Ive done the thing and got to play last weekends alpha for a day. And I must say, I am impressed with where its already at, and looking forward to where it goes. Thats all I can say due to NDA haha. So on to non NDA stuff. My personal goal: Sell everyone the vessel they need, complete, programmed and for a good profit. Ive started an Org for that "The Foundry Industries" where our sole purpose is designing and assembling your workhorses and battleships. So if anyone has that same designers itch feel free to give me a PM. One thing I do know tho is that I'll have to learn LUA haha. But Ill be fine. Thanks for reading!
