  1. Was the tile marked as headquarters?

The time frame sounds too short for it to be a sub issue - it sounds more like you lost because you didn't have enough tax money in the wallet, than anything related to your card.

My current understanding is that HQ tiles and anything in space last for 90 days after your sub runs out.

Also, I think it takes 2 weeks for them to fully claim your ship unless its on an NQ tile.

(Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Two week, 28 days tops. I know for a fact people are sitting on tiles with alts burning one dac every four months.

I recognise there may be an issue here with people blocking valuable mining tiles.

However, I do think that there is a need for builders to keep their constructs for more than a few weeks, which I believe was the intention for HQ tiles.

Perhaps there is a reasonable criteria to differentiate between these scenarios and handle them differently?

Also, yeah builders have HQ tiles. Not even the issue. Kind of odd though, that only miners have to pay taxes…

If tiles did not require tax, your ore would be completely worthless, because every tile would be mined.

The taxes actually help miners by encouraging non-miners to pay for ore instead of mining it themselves.

I own a single tile that isn't super high value (23 L/h chromite, 400 L/h coal), and It's currently making around 3 mil profit/wk after taxes for a few hours work.

If you're not getting similar return-on-investment, you might want to look closer at your operation instead of blaming everything on taxes.

wrecks at this moment are just BS, its 10 a day? there should be spawning about 10 per 30 minutes to make it a feature. and frankly i rather see npc ships to actually capture then npc wrecks that are just gifts to some.

    I see more than 10/day

    It seems closer to 1/hour

Edit: I do agree that it would be nice to see more, though.

I wonder if people have considered what I’m doing, and just run fewer tiles and use smaller units.

Ex: a tile has 400L of ore.

If you use 4 L MU, each one gives you 2400L a day, for 9600L. The calibrations for each is another 16k a day or so, for a total of like 26k, not counting adjacency.

Conversely, you can run 12MUs small  and get the same passive ore, but still get 4k+ per calibration. That is  9600+48k daily. 57k total (Usually closer to 70 with harvesting bonuses) More charges, yes, but double the output for the same tax rate.

That's basically what I've been doing.

I only have one tile with 8 small miners (400L/h coal) and 1 chromite miner (23 L/h), and getting 35-40KL coal + ~3kl chromite per day.

I use the chromite for fuel, and the coal pays the week's taxes in 2 days.

  6. The point of interest isn't exact, but the wreck should be in radar range when you get there. If someone beat you to it, it will disappear from the point of interest list.

it's like an abandoned core - you can either strip parts or replace the core.

Replacing the core is best because it stops late arrivals from also stripping parts. It also helps to keep space clean.

(you may have to strip a few parts to get to the core)

I've also been taking core blueprints before I start stripping, it's nice to have a full parts list in case you recycled something you should have kept.

I think I've only seen 5 or 6 unique designs myself, so there are a lot of repeats.

Earning money just to pay taxes is an objectively stupid design idea that undermines the whole point of having a currency system in games to begin with! it isn't to create a fake economy just for the sake of having an economy.

You know you don't have to pay any taxes, right? just stop running your mining units and hq your 3 favourite tiles.

If your mining units are turning a profit, then you're not earning to pay the tax - you're just earning less because of the tax.
