  1. It may have changed at some point from searching all markets by default to only searching your closest market. I don't know when, I took a long break in beta and it seemed different when I came back at launch, but nothing concrete I can refer to.
  2. "When I go to the markets now, I can't even hardly find any items I need that I can't make" Make sure you're searching across all markets. afaik, Alioth Market 6 has almost everything now, and you can use the shuttle/teleporters to get there and back pretty quickly from haven.
  3. Was the tile marked as headquarters? The time frame sounds too short for it to be a sub issue - it sounds more like you lost because you didn't have enough tax money in the wallet, than anything related to your card. My current understanding is that HQ tiles and anything in space last for 90 days after your sub runs out. Also, I think it takes 2 weeks for them to fully claim your ship unless its on an NQ tile. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)
  4. Afaik, most players aren't using steam (most that I interact with, anyway) so I would hesitate to draw any conclusions from there.
  5. Ore spawns under the mining unit now, regardless of the calibration spot. They changed it quite a while ago.
  6. That usually makes it easier because the border gets brighter near peaks.
  7. I was more thinking about some of the giant monuments that I've seen around the place. It would be disappointing to lose one because the owner missed their sub for a few weeks and a random player tore them down.
  8. I recognise there may be an issue here with people blocking valuable mining tiles. However, I do think that there is a need for builders to keep their constructs for more than a few weeks, which I believe was the intention for HQ tiles. Perhaps there is a reasonable criteria to differentiate between these scenarios and handle them differently?

  10. HQ tiles already abandon after 3 months unsubbed iirc. 2 weeks would be far too short.
  11. I'm curious what made you think "A group of 5 guys" could "do economic damage to a bigger org" in any game.
  12. If tiles did not require tax, your ore would be completely worthless, because every tile would be mined. The taxes actually help miners by encouraging non-miners to pay for ore instead of mining it themselves. I own a single tile that isn't super high value (23 L/h chromite, 400 L/h coal), and It's currently making around 3 mil profit/wk after taxes for a few hours work. If you're not getting similar return-on-investment, you might want to look closer at your operation instead of blaming everything on taxes.

  14. That's basically what I've been doing. I only have one tile with 8 small miners (400L/h coal) and 1 chromite miner (23 L/h), and getting 35-40KL coal + ~3kl chromite per day. I use the chromite for fuel, and the coal pays the week's taxes in 2 days.
