  1. Hello Dominar, welcome to the forum and yes i agree with Space Engineers and ambitious projects, after around 10% of the work is done, the fps drops under 10 and after that its more like snails engineers, which is no fun. At least that is whats normally happen to me.
  2. Should this be possible, of course yes this is something we should do, but in the special case of "arkship city" or however you want to call it, it wouldn't be necessary because of the safety zone around the arkship.
  3. And i throw in the next real world tech that could inspire the stealth mechanics: Vantablack, but it would come with the disadvantage of convert the absorbed light into heat. Sorry that i don't really discuss, but this is a topic which is although interesting for me, but would not really apply to my gameplay and as such it isn't interesting enough to keep me thinking about.
  4. As far as i know from the description of Cinderfall, Cinderfall will be some sort of alliance, but that was not my intention with this topic. My intention was more or less to get an agreement between different organizations and players. This agreement is to guarantee the neutrality and development of alioth, including a prohibition of armed conflicts, but not more. I have edited my first post to correct the impression that i'm going for an alliance, but Cinderfall will get a PM from me.
  5. Regarding visual camouflage, we have even today a nanomaterial that is able to bend light, without power usage. I don't know how its called or how its working, i'm not even certain that the scientists how created it are know how its working exactly and its surely not ready for mass production, but in the future we could be able to build visually cloaked ships. Years ago i have seen a reportage about it, but i do not really remember, the only thing what i remember is that its exist.
  6. Jaja lach du nur xD just because I have a hero complex, it does not mean that I do not know that such things are sometimes necessary. I'm a good guy, but not naive.

  8. You will be able to sell your blueprints on a ingame market or simply give it to your friends. And a editor as you have described it will be integrated as some sort of virtual reality that you can enter in game.
  9. First off, i'm not sure if this the right forum for this topic, maybe the general discussions is better, because this will not be an organization per se, but the arkship pub seems for me the place for society in general, so i put it here. And now inspiring speech mode on! I have a dream, a dream of a city, on a planet that will be free of armed conflicts. A city where all organizations can come together in peace, where they will have embassies, where they can end or begin their conflicts and negoiate treaties on neutral ground. A planet where new players can freely decide what they want to do, without the threat of a ruling organization, that can force the new players to join or do work for them. This city should be called Arkship City, and the name of the planet is Alioth. A place that will be build and also protected, by us, the players, the community. Inspiring speech mode off. So i think you get the basic idea of what i want to do, but to explain further, i think it would be pretty unpleasant to jump in a game thats gone instantanious in anarchy mode, after release. Slaughtering each another, because of resources. Organizations fighting over territory. And after years of fighting, we are finally getting to space just so we can continue fighting. And honestly this is my greatest fear for the game. But in the end that is what the devs are giving to us, total freedom and with this tool, it could end in anarchy, but we will have the power to go the other way, in my opinion the more pleasant way, of working together, at least till we have reached space (we will probably reach it faster if we work together) and are able to spread over the galaxy and after that, we could use alioth and hopefully arkship city, as what i have it described in my "speech", neutral ground for diplomatic actions, a place for new players to orient themselves and a place where "older" players can have fun together, without rivalries and conflicts between their organizations. This whole thing should be function without the use of any in game mechanics, more like an agreement between different organizations and players on a voluntary basis to work together. This agreement is to guarantee the neutrality and development of alioth, including a prohibition of armed conflicts, but not more. I hope I could encourage you to think about and look forward to your feedback. Edit1: to clearify things
  10. No, no gas chambers suffocate is a horrible death, the plain old bullet-in-the-head-method is enough. This should be enough we went pretty offtopic here
  11. Welcome on the forums. It seems you are a experienced military officer and spaceship commander, we always need people like you.
  12. For me is it not so much a matter of perspective, but rather a matter of the doings of the individuals that are named pirates or privateers. Let me take for example the two extremes of this "profession". Pirate: Someone who is robbing and killing people, simply for easy self-gain and/or for the pleasure of, being the reason for and/or seeing, the suffering of other people. Privateer: Someone who acts on behalf of a faction as a strategic resource. I know there are many between thingies, but for me are this the main definitions for the terms. Yes this is also a perspective, i know, i know.
  13. We won't allow filthy pirates to be in our sight, blow him out of it!
  14. Welcome to the forums Skylord! The Terran Union is always on the search for new Citizens and we are offer the most activities that will be available in the game, except the "evil" ones like piracy.
  15. I think i should begin with a more aggressive way of recruitment or the DUA and Cinderfall will snatch away all the new player right before my nose xD And I'm still looking for individuals, that are willing to sacrifice their lifes for the greater good and to protect the freedom of the Terran Union. But welcome to the forums i hope you have a great time here.
  16. When they described their thoughts so it has sounded as they're assuming this. Maybe i got something wrong because im not a native english speaker, i dunno. With limited i mean in this case a limited amount of items you get after scanning or researching something, was also mentioned in the exploration thread. But thanks that you have alert me for my lack of clarity, i hope this is understandable my brain is turning slowly to liquid, because it is so hot today and i'm tired.
  17. I have read this topic about exploration and how it could be made intresting in the longrun and i don't like the idea of a limited amount of data items, mentioned in the topic, simply because data is so endless as your storage space for it. And for some reason all people in this topic, at least it seems so to me could be just imagination, have assumed that there will be a single galactic-wide market for data (maybe i missed something on the DevBlogs) and i don't like this idea either. So i would go with that what the internet is doing today, provide a master from which will be made copies if someone buy it, of course the master can be updated if new data is available. The master is bound to the seller and every time someone buys a copy from this master the seller will get the money. A Master is created, if someone places data in the market to sell it. After copying the master, the copy and the master will be equal, so yes, you can buy and sell it again, so works trading, but read further it will all make sense. The Data will be automatically tagged after creation, in case of exploration data with 4 tags: object of scan, creator, version and level of information. If you try to sell some data, it will be checked if something on the market matches the tags, and if something on the market have a match on all 4 tags, you won't be able to sell your data, this is to prevent the flooding of the market with one and the same. As you already can see, i'm going for multiple markets, that can be setup by players. The reason why i'm going for mutiple markets is, that the needed ingame infrastructure for a galactic-wide real-time data market in a 10k+ MMO, would be massive, not to say absolutly humongous. Yes the devs could it make so that it could work with "magic", but i don't think thats is the way DU is going. An example so that you can follow me, imagine two sets of exploration data for a planet, one with the lowest level of information and the other one with the highest. The first will have general informations, such as atmospheric composition, the most common minerals and a basic surface map with a resolution of 10 meter per pixel, so you get a basic idea of the planet. The second one will pretty much contain everything what there is to know about the planet, including the exact amount of each compound that are making the planet and a 3D Map with all the inner parts of the planet and a resolution of 1 millimeter per pixel. I think you get an idea how they would differ in terms of file size. And now imagine a network in which hundreds of such files send to hundreds of different location in just a second. For the first file it could be feasible to manage, but for the second file, that would probably be petabyte sized or higher, no not a chance. So back to topic, as already mentioned the markets would be setup by players and organizations and would be accessible via fix mounted terminals in buildings, stations, ships, etc. or via remote connect, if you near enough, with your bord-computer or your super-duper-life-support-nano-machine-it-can-everything-PC-thingi mounted on your forearm. (yes this is going to you Gallo ) You could also connect the markets, so that they work as one, but you would have to provide a sufficient infrastructure. There was more on my mind but i can't remember, i probably lost the half of my toughts as i jumped back to further explain my toughts about why i don't like the idea of a single market, sorry for that. If they come back to me, i will add a second post. Edit1: to clearify things
