  1. This is the sort of “Hollywood movie economics” I see everywhere these days. It’s shown to be so laughably wrong in the modern day that even applying it to a game is kind of ridiculous. It used to work it the fifties and sixties when there were dozens of innovative companies in each region fighting for your attention. but there is no reason for this to function in an economy where consolidating at scale always wins and mergers and the subsequent monopolies in each field are de rigueur; because the market is no longer free but instead directed and controlled by a tiny cartel. Just look at the “Right to Repair” movement for an example of a market moving AWAY from what a truly competitive market with a hundred competitors would achieve. if players were the only source of schematics and aphelia schematics did not exist, things might work a little better but currently, schematics combined with taxes constantly remove so much money out of the economy that the economy would enter a deflationary death spiral in no time. 10,000 players add 7B ℏ per week in stipend but the 13,000 tiles on Alioth (assuming they are productive) drain 6,5B ℏ per week already leaving almost nothing if we remove ores. if ores disappear the the game’s expansion will all but stop. “but ore price will rise if supply drops” — and there is the cusp of your misunderstanding. there will be no money to purchase the ore.
  2. One phase per year is not out of the question given prior experience.
  3. how is this even possible? I can't even.... wow! I'm gonna have to download this and check it out.
  4. Are you saying that a 100kN engine will only provide 50kN of power in a vertical orientation?
  5. deleted. decided to keep this one to myself. lol
  6. It's been a little longer than 3-4 weeks since the Easter egg event.
  7. I hate having to inspect each machine to figure out WTF is going on. I wish they would update the status lights from just crappy Green / Red... They could easily make it: Red: out of material. Flashing: 1 hour has elapsed in this state. Orange: output container full... Flashing: 1 hour has elapsed in this state. Yellow: idling (maintain level reached)... Green: Operating normally Flashing: All done. Blue: Schematics Lacking. Flashing: 1 hour has elapsed in this state.N Off: new machine or no task assigned. But this detail of development would likely require NQ to dedicate an entire team several weeks to achieving. They could just leave it to us and make the damned light LUA controllable. Damn. I've gone and added to the endless wishlists that fruitlessly populate this forum. --edit... holy shitballs, I just looked carefully now and realised the machine's lights are THREE colours, not two.... An ever so slightly ruby shade of red means purposefully paused due to maintain limit reached and an ever so slightly orange shade of red means there's an error. Never even noticed until now. LOL.
  8. If this is true, then the game cannot survive in its current form. Within a month or two the bot sales will be gone and whole game will be reduced to a total influx of 1 Bℏ per day (assuming a generous 10k daily entities -players and their alts- with alts @ 100k ℏ each) plus a few NPC missions for those desperate enough. That's not going to go far... think about it tax for the 13,000 tiles on Alioth alone assuming they have industry or mining will account for 6.5Bℏ per week consumption, leaving only 500Mℏ per week of ℏ influx or thereabouts between all entities... so if we say 10k entities, that's about 50k ℏ per week per player... Enough for ONE 750kℏ L core schematic about once every 15 weeks. Even modest schematics costs outweigh the influx of ℏ by such a ridiculous margin that development will likely all but cease once the 30 Bℏ (30 markets, 1B ℏ of T1 ore per market) of initial ore bot gained ℏ is consumed which it likely already mostly has been. I just don't see how this "economy" can survive that kind of ℏ starvation...
  9. No they promised nothing like that as such, really, apart from the best MMO building game and a society entirely designed, built and run by players allowing us to make our mark in the galaxy by playing whatever role we want, defined not by character class but by the choices we make... LOL. But I made a mistake in an earlier post... We had to strip mine 2 tiles to get 3~4k of T2 ore. There is only 1.5k of T2 ore per tile. Only about enough to make 100m3 of luminescent glass... Currently the only way we can even make Medium cores right now is by purchasing exorbitantly priced T2 at circa. 100 ℏ per litre because we were completely unable to discover any T2 tile by scanning... So basically the mega orgs who scanned thousands of tiles and cornered the entire T2 market are set for life while the rest are basically stuffed. But yeah, NQ's motto: "Play whatever role you want... just don't expect it to be fun."
  10. After skilling up in surface harvesting, I flew back to sanctuary and It took me 90 minutes to strip mine my hex. sold the ores to Aphelia (who else, ffs) for 2,000,000 ℏ and took the T2 back to Thades. there was about 3 or 4K of each T2 ore. I don’t even remember since it was such an inconsequential amount. The sky is still shitstain brown and the tile is now lifeless and dead.
  11. oh, the story of modern online discourse. This is surely a modern classic. Lol
  12. I think my second account which has ”supporter” rank is also lacking a STU. at least he was when I stated playing. Haven’t checked his nanopack for a while.
  13. Yep, it seems every second post becomes a wishlist destined to be added to by other starry eyed players before being consigned to the dusty pile of history.
  14. Weird. You write that as if I am posting for NQ. It’s been a while since I have written something expected NQ to read. I’m curious, what in my post gave you the impression I was aiming it at NQ? did you interpret it as one of those ridiculous “open letters to..” type rants?
  15. Temporary. LOL. Oh you sweet summer child. Five years has seen very little positive change and much revert to little more than it was in the Alpha. Why should the consumers who are paying to use a product be the ones responsible for designing the product? Henry Ford once said ask a person what they want and all they would have said was a faster horse. in any case even though I’m not a game designer, I have already given my idea and opinions a hundred times. But just like everyone else who has, they have been ignored. There is zero meaning giving ideas at this point in time. zero. The game will get made in whatever way NQ choose, since they are building their own game, not our game.
  16. This must have been reduced recently I have already sold at least 100,000 units of ore to a market on sanctuary for 25h per unit. I know because I got about 4,000,000h for it all. edit; I realised you are using the decimal point twice... so no idea what you mean, 9.999, 9,999.999 or 9,999,999
  17. The whole premise of “entirely player driven and built” is a laughing stock. This was actually a reply deep in a thread somewhere so I just thought I’d dig it out and post it here. Sorry if you’ve read this already. bots control our hex-rent. Bots control our schematics. Bots control our sales taxes. Bots hand out and receive missions. Bots sell pretty much everything anyone needs. Bots buy stupid almost unlimited amounts of ore and bots hand out a daily stipend. And bots control whether or not we can fire weapons. what is there actually left to play and strive for other than building? why is there no energy required to run anything? Why is there no oxygen requirements for our habitats? why is there no food or farming? why are there no threatening box life forms that raid our camps? why are there no mysteries beyond a few lowest possible effort alien cores? what an absolute joke.
  18. Schemitics reduce server load by simultaneously inflating the cost of products while at the same time reducing spare ℏ. They also significantly reduce fun. I’ve spent a really dull hours just trying to scrape together enough ℏ with the tiny fragments of what remains of our org by surface scavenging the shit out of everywhere I have permission. It’s worse than mining used to be. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The whole premise of “entirely player driven and built” is a laughing stock. bots control our hex-rent. 19. Much like "Rule 34": "If it exists, there will be porn on it" there is the unwritten rule of the MMO: "If can be done, it will be done." Look how JC envisioned it taking a month to get into space when in actual fact some players were off in 30 minutes or less. Players are resourceful, clever and sometimes wicked. lol. IMO, NQ seem to spend far too much time fighting house fires when they could have just installed sprinklers. I've said it before and will say it again (hence the image) All they needed to do was create mini exclusion zones around each market... two or three hexes deep... not only would it clear up the absolute fustercluck that happens around typical marketplaces but would also give far more groups access to front row seats facing said markets. But what do NQ do? Nothing more than foot-chasing after a horse that's not only bolted but has since been seen a dozen miles away running riderless along a motorway. They create an arbitrary 1km height rule (damnit! this is why we can't have nice things) and place misleading and outright confusing "2km" warning signs and make snarky comments aimed at their PAYING CUSTOMERS... Who though dissing paying customers was a good idea, srsly? TLDR: This is a problem of NQ's own making: All they needed to do was create mini exclusion zones around each market... two or three hexes deep.
  20. It's msoul, so this is expected. Really not worth replying with more than a single line.
