  1. Dock a ship with an on/off (via an element?)
This one will transfer all its weight as well as a deactivation of its core like a tokenise (to avoid some PvP abuses, or simply arming).

There can be several variants to balance depending on the ability to manage core dynamics.

Do you have other ideas to improve this system, without this concern of the Role play dimension but so that the game is a better handling of the docking?

DU is a game designed in the fashion of EVE Online. Your "grind" doesn't get you anywhere. Connections do.

I know a lot of no lifers as you say in EVE who are nobodies, and people who play twice a week who own the markets.

Also, get in an organisation, like the French community which is part of the Band of Outlaws. That's the point of playing an MMO, it's to play with other people, not grinding alone. There are mining corporations, industry, militaries and militias (different things FYI), all of which have a place and a role you can fulfull in them. Grinding NPCs is a stupid passtime, in a game where you can be a LEGIT law enforcement officer and chasing scammers off of your territory's marketplace - cause NovaQuark won't do it for you, you are meant to keep your markets safe, in any way, shape or form.

If your problem is for WORKING your way to the top, there's piracy. But hey, you are not so "tough" if the enemy is a person who can outsmart you, right?

    I agree.

We have to wait to see how these categories will be proportional with the number of players.

  3. I think the implant system is thinking well to be able to include a multitude of applications, but the hacking is too extensive if you do not put a limit from the beginning.
It will frustrate many people to know that you can be broken without being able to protect yourself. The good old method of fighting will always be the most attractive (sensation level).

Fair enough but if you can't do something really well, why do it at all?

Purely from a design perspective its a waste on resources trying to compete on an established market if your product doesn't stand out above the competition.

With the current features they stand above the current niche.

I do not underestimate the game on the contrary, but must always think of some eventuality.
But yes he will find his place, I am sure

PVE is not part of the game's vision, nor is Scripted Events.

It's all player driven, no evil army awaits. Players will become the evil army.

If you have a problem with "players being the evil army" but not with "bots being the evil army", then it means you either have an issue with MMOs and living with other players, or suffer from a serious case of "Themeparkatius" which renders you impossible to enjoy true Sandbox MMOs.

And if the game does not get enough people to be able to be even its event? how are they going to hold back others?
I am not pessimistic but must provide "exit doors" .. solutions in advance.

I'm just against bad mechanics that could be abused to hell, doesn't really matter what kind of mechanics tbh

If you do not stay on a pessimistic view:
    1. it's not a bad idea
    2. We are here to discuss it and find the best solution.

If the weapon or metal detector is not automatic, it is not broken. A prevention tool ... nothing else if it is usable only by a person.

  7. Anyway the first who wants the piracy to implement, will be the first to complain about being fooled by this technology. He still thinks destroying others but when it happens to them they are not happy ...

it's a sandbox, no one wants us to easily destroy what we create. Where is the pleasure when all is easy? It is surprising to me that some ATVs want it.

hmm i have read somewhere on forum say everywhere is tatical target, so do your 'peaceful space'.

Or maybay your title or topic about security make people to think sothe much, if a place that have senser, not allow people with weapon go inside... it mean there must got something :)).

Also politican/VIP usually choose somewhere weapon not allow to speak, so in common it make people think about bring in weapon and politic, danger,... all thing you can imagine :)

i agree with you, but how to counter troller ? this people just come for destroy without reason... i mean this

  9. Why are people still drifting into espionage or "confrontation", what's the use of spying on a place where everyone comes to relax and watch racing games or whatever?

The idea or human control behind the sensor is mandatory is the best, in the sense that: if there is an error it will not be because of the equipment.

Regarding other topics of use for the spy or traitors .. there will always be.

But my idea of this weapon detector is to create a place where this atmosphere of "war" is no longer there. A space for relaxation where people do not take the lead with it, and many will want to protect a place like this.

  10. 1 hour ago, Lethys said:

If there is a way to bypass those Sensors - sure, why not.

If you can't bypass them by any means then it's a broken mechanic and shouldn't be there at all

Destroy all with large ship and other^^  is the way but why people want destroy area just for game?

Is not broken, just a detector, not mean a weapon steal with this system or a blockage

  11. This will be useful in several areas.

For my part, imagine we want to build a playground for all, but we do not want some people malicious.

We want to create an area without weapons, and of course with the help of a road with its detectors let pass only people coming for the game.

Of course there will always be guard to monitor the detectors ... according to the systems that will be implemented.

We can imagine other uses, such as transactions and others ...

Ai, npcs, pve is not part of the game loop. This may change over time, but i doubt it.

Every single pve content is too easy, repetitive and boring to me (in a mmo). At first they might be interesting and hard but with time and a lot of effort on nqs side (which will draw them away from the main selling point of the game) it will just be grinding and boring. At first ppl thought WHs interesting in eve but after a year everyone knew what to do. I soloed C5s with np, good isk but boring af.

    Totally agree with you.
For that one would have to find a different way, For example:
A civilization, a large army already on the spot, whose only goal is to slow down the bravest players who want to expand. But, considering that this is only a big "event", but after having reduced all of them to nothing, life goes on ...

I understand that an event like this one, will be able to frustrate the people arriving a long time after the beginning of the game and that they could not participate but it makes it possible to anchor a history, that only the players will be able to relate thereafter.

Like Vanilla on WoW or other example.

  13. I'm not referring to Destiny, the events on Destiny are too repetitive.
But innovated an alternative, which seems rare.
With such a vast world, we will not be able to go to all the events, we will not even know if we do not explore and share the information with those who reside in the alentours (for example).

    I.A = A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) sorry.

  14. This public event idea can offer a lot of gameplay or strategic choice.

    For example:
The arrival of IA ships in areas (random or not)
Neutral IA contructions, with events of sieges, to defend.
Or moving asteroids with valuable resources (example without AI).

    This is intended to diversify:
-The harvest of resources (or others).
    -Add PvE and PvP content
-An opportunist rating or specialty in this area.

    If this happens:
At PvP level, I think that will regulate or limit the number of access to certain events, to limit large clans to crush small clans.
At the PvE level, this can open new long-term goals at the level of an invasion story or other battles to be fought other than PvP.

Many event ideas can be proposed or other point of view.

  15. I think that a system to categorize ships is not obligatory, because the more we want to add:
Weapons, mechanics, propulsion and other items.
The ship will have to be bigger to install all the device.

if the ship is atmospheric, space or both capable, this can be a great information, beneficial or not depending on who gets the information (at pvp level for example)

Some type of inter-structure travel will definitely be essential in huge constructs; I don't even see how one could argue with that. Though I could even see use in medium-large sized ships.

I agree with you, but if we start integrating this, people will ask more and more, and that will destroy the RP.
