  1. Bouncing ideas around are good, and playing the game to get a solid sense of what's what is good too. There's a little balance
  2. Stop pretending Underneath that big bright pink font is an intelligent specimen.
  3. When I say good guy, I mean not bad for the sake of it. I can swing from angel to devil in a heartbeat if the circumstances are right . I just took one of those Alighnment tests, and I came out as 'true neutral', the second closest to that were neutral good, and chaotic neutral. So pretty neutral lol. I like that, means I'm flexible. I'm in essence, a good guy in terms of respecting the boundaries of others, but I also make a fierce and ardent enemy with good reason. I think it's fine people have their own positions and alignments, it will definitely make for interesting adventures, and any good Organization will have it's various different characters. That said we all share the free spirit, and 'rogue-like' status.
  4. Depends on whether you're on our good side or not-so-good side . But to reiterate, we're good guys, unless you cross the wrong side of us, then you might find yourself hounded across the Universe .
  5. Hello and welcome to forum and DU community. Buckle up and enjoy the ride
  6. If there was an aggressive and hostile alien race trying to take human slaves, I could get behind that, but not humans enslaving humans. In an advanced space age, with evolving technologies I don't think it would be viable to use humans as slaves. Humans die, and they're not easily replaced unless you force breed them, or grow them. But an uncivil alien race, violent and fiercely anti-human, I could see them enslaving humans simply for sport, or as a food supply.
  7. Hoping that different building materials have different strengths and/or reinforcement defensive capabilities.
  8. Really not keen on slaves. Robots, cyborgs, drones and any other manner of technological subservience is fine in my view, but human (or even alien) slaves, really don't like it. Robots would be a lot stronger than humans. Harder to break, tougher in a fight, easier to fix.
  9. Exactly, there has to be a delicate balance. People will want to form settlements, cities, stations, and NQ recognise these things will take time, so in order for civilisation to take effective root in game, there has to be a balance between pvp and building.
  10. That there could be a big clue. Heat/eat. Body temperature and food/eating it appears, might be used in some interesting ways.
  11. Love is what often drives us to survive. We survive to love I believe Food is a fuel and to keep us going we eat from necessity. I mean, aside from it tastes good, it has to taste good in order for us to desire to eat and keep our bodies energised. I do wonder if food will have benefits in gameplay terms, buffs or healing properties in pvp for example. I agree, I think a lot of things will come into consideration and each feature will work fluidly with each other, whether its working for energy sources, or food, I think they will work well.
  12. I'd imagine there will be food that's high in energy, and going by other aspects of the game, it won't be easy to make or come by. I don't forsee food being such a hindrance as to divert from anything. Energy, making important equipment will be time consuming and challenging, I think it will all fit together nicely in a way that makes sense. I really appreciate a game that has depth. It seems there are so few games out there these days with real heart and soul, real meaning and depth of gameplay. So much of it is surface, superficial. Truly I look forward to a game that feels gritty, and sometimes even difficult, with surmountable obstacles. Having to eat, and not just that, but having the necessary technology necessary to grow the food, farm it, process it...all adds to the complexity of gameplay. At this point we're shooting in the dark, but I don't equate food with a survival game. Dual houses many aspects, and it is essentially about surviving, but it's not at its core a survival game. We'll need to survive temperature, as mentioned in another blog, attacks from other players, we'll have to master travel and improving technology, obtaining and using fuel supplies. There's going to be so much we need to do, it feels deep, meaningful and purposeful when all elements are put together.
  13. We're survivors, embarking on a journey to save mankind. Of course we need food.
  14. I was reading through the devblogs earlier, and had either forgotten about, or hadn't processed this part before: So we will need food it seems, which I am glad about, it just depends on how it will be implemented. From this devblog: https://devblog.dualthegame.com/2014/08/17/about-the-alpha-gameplay/ Edit: Seems Halo381's post above partially answers that.
  15. Would love to try something like that. How possible depends on the tools and what we can do with them I guess.
  16. Guessing solo players will have the opportunity to take advantage of territory owned by organization's. It's a long-term goal of mine to eventually establish a city. I'm hoping it's something that people could come to 'live' in, provided protections are in place in regards to buildings themselves being unalterable by visitors. Much like different visitor claim settings in Landmark. I think solo-ers could survive fairly well on a small scale, but in terms of resources and innovation it's likely where multiple players will be best suited. As someone else said, a small ship and home could be doable in a safe zone. But I'd expect the rest of the Universe to be a fairly hazardous place, especially with blood-thirsty pvp'ers around.
  17. Hehe good point CaptainTwerkmotor. I guess they could 'locked' into place during launch, but no doubt there are practical implications.
  18. Spinning chairs could be a neat feature.
  19. Yes seems a sure thing that it will be gameplay footage, and that's certainly what I'm looking forward to seeing. I'm about ready to gain insight into something tangible that I can observe and develop a stronger sense of the game. This will be an exciting next step.
  20. Hoping for a nice selection of planets, with their own distinguishable environmental features, for variety and a sense of exploration. I enjoy that feeling of looking forward to seeing what's around the next corner, or in this case, what's on the next planet.
  21. Welcome Halo381! Liking the avatar picture.
  22. Looking forward to working with you too Jett. Seems like this will be a great adventure!
  23. I'd like pink eyes like my avatar has that allow me to see better in the dark, or at a greater distance. I definitely don't expect that lol, but if it was on offer, that would be something I'd like.
