I'm going to guess not because they told all of the Kickstarter backers that pets would only be available through Kickstarter. Even pledging now won't get you pets.

Well that's too bad =( its not like they add bonuses or anything they just add to your appearance and many games have pets you can buy. They should have just made it where the kick starter pet was a one time buy only through that Kickstarter but came out with different pets for later releases. I hope they change there mind and make the kick starter pet exclusive to only the kick starter people but come out with more pets?

  2. Fixed gate-to-gate connection to me seems the best  because tactically its your best option from keeping enemies from instantly dropping a armada at the planet your organization is home based ! To get back the cost or resources your organization could make it free to members and charge a small fee for non-members !

I will not be fighting I prefer the crafting career but I think people maybe forgetting there could be a large tactical aspect of the game for the organizations that will be fighting.

Star Gates : Will probable be expensive and take rare materials to make not to mention what's keeping enemies from destroying it if you don't maybe have a base there to protect it. Destroying a gate could be devastating, it may slow down or stop a organizations ability to trade , communicate , and travel to that solar system if they don't have a alternate path and if you destroy lets say a neutral owned stargate you could have just made a lot of enemies from the organizations that use that stargate.

There is still a lot to consider about stargates being used for tactics and commerce but it will probably be a big game changer for most not to mention reducing travel time!

We already have plasma weapons as an idea. Plasma is also a particle weapon capable of inflicting both ballistic kinetic energy and kinetic energy from the extreme heat. Needless to say, the color can vary simply based on temperature and the element used. I think plasma is just as good as an ion beam. I guess either would be ok though; it is just a game.

In most games I have played and mostly strategic ones the plasma weapons have more than one effect on a target : energy, heat , and explosive types which would make it a great weapon with multiple uses from small to large targets but those games also I guess as a counter limited the range of plasma weapons !

  4. Yes if I remember right the Dev's said the physics will be pretty realistic while the collision mechanics is not really there and will probably be added or a version of it way later on in the game?

One of the cool things I remember is if your flying orbit around a planet  and turn off your engines you continue to orbit  the planet with no power to the engines!

  5. I plan on learning the basics of LUA Scripting to help me make some unique weapons and weapons systems! This will be my first time using LUA Scripting but I will give it my best try and maybe someone in the community will make a video  helping us beginners get started using LUA Scripting in Dual Universe.

  6. I think the Dev's are on the right track with having bases with some automation  defenses where ships will have to be manned at each weapons system. Most people have touched on good reasons why the Dev's probably did that and I agree but automated ships I don't like the idea because there or too many ways people can exploit the system and griefers would love that! One person controlling dozens of gun/cannons should never happen and will kill the game for most people! Not too mention its a sandbox mmo and not a one person shooter , so if you need more crew to man the weapons and other system you cold always hire a crew which could be fun and add to the game economy as one of many jobs to fill and get paid for.

Okay, newest DevDiary confirmed: We're gonna be able to keep our constructs in form of blueprints.

That's Awesome! Ether way I am excited to finally be able to play it my self even if it will be buggy, but it will really make me smile if we do get to keep our blueprints because it only save you time from redoing what you did once be for right?  Plus most of my blue prints will probably be things I planned on putting on the open market anyway.

  8. I hope you can build specialized building plus blueprint and sell them in the game! It would save so much time and help the building challenged members in the community if we could sell our buildings to others and generate some commerce also.  I have 3 ideas/themes on my note book I am working with right now : Industrial , eco , and functional but might not have enough time in the day to do 3 so I might have to pick one to start.

without weapons they can be only victims =)

Hello let me introduce my self! No puns intended! =)

I think profits will be great for weapons smith like my self because people and organizations will need the weapons to keep themselves safe! There will probably be average weapons on the market for people or organizations that my not have the skills or art to make them, but I am planning to make special orders that will be blueprinted and only sold for that organization's or person's own exclusive use.

As of being a pirate I thought about it but I will not be doing any fighting because : I'm more of the lover type than fighter type!  =)

If you have questions I maybe able to point you in the right direction but some of the larger pirate groups have all ready ben named. There are smaller organizations out there if that's what your looking for but you will probably need to send there leaders a message to set up a contract! So keep in mind if the larger orgs or too pricey there are smaller and cheaper orgs out there you just need to contact them.   =)

  10. The shielding system sounds like a great idea and that would solve some of the problems I mentioned but how much power will it take to keep that shield running and how much damage can the shielding take be for failing? I would love to test that system out but I have a feeling I might have to wait until beta or after to really put my theories to test.

1km diameter of land! That's a nice amount of area to build your infrastructures on but still would probably take forever as a solo player. Unless you could get a lot of per-fabricated building/blueprints but you would still have the problems of the materials to build them or would that be included with the blueprints?

For the destruction or hacking of a territorial unit and would happen after that I guess we could theory craft or just have to wait until maybe beta? If we are lucky maybe there will be a release on that information in some form for the community.

  11. Many people are talking about player cities and I think that's great but Territorial units is what people may have forgotten about and will mostly effect the smaller organizations and solo players. No one knows if there will be a limit on how many territorial units one person can have? I was going to start off solo my self but then after rethinking on it I knew I could not accomplish  my goals by my self. I wanted to have a shop on every planet then I thought that might be hard and unrealistic so then I thought one shop in every solar system could work? After thinking more about it and what it might take to run a business like all the materials and services that I would need, things started to look bad and might take me forever not to mention I might only be able to have 10 or less territorial units total! In the end I felt its was better for me to join a organization not because I could not do it my self, but the time it would take me to do it solo would seem like years of grinding.

There or other tactical questions that come with territorial units defense's like: if someone destroys, takes or hacks my units what happens to all my stuff? I have seen a tactic used in other games that concerns me: where someone will come along and place a military base right next to you city and be for you know it your toast or being sieged! If your organization does not make a tight defense someone could easily put a base between you and your allies! I am sure other people can see where there might be potential exploits or even seen them in other games that have city or base building.

There is more but I don't want to right a page right now and I will wait and see what the community thinks but I am sure NQ will have a plan by final launch I hope.

I think that a City will grow like it does in Real Life. So one will build a Small House at First, some more will build near it, and as the Village grows streets and districts will appear by its own, because its the most logical and easiest way to Lead a City (Run a city?). I dont think that a House needs a Core. Maybe the things Inside it but not the House itself

Yes I think you will find a lot of players that may be in a small organizations or not in a organization building homes around Space ports , military bases and maybe allied factories if they decide to build outside the Ark area.

There will be enough currency fluctuations going on with one currency, let alone an infinite number of them.

I agree total and lets not forget the real world system !@#$ = you may not be to happy if your currency doesn't match up with the big organizations! The currency ratio will be all over the place like in the real world now. Lets have fun and just keep its simple and if you prefer to use something different you could use the old darter type system over currency.

  14. Everyone will probably start off building close to the Ark ship in pre-alpha and alpha and maybe beta, but I think on the final release day most organizations will relocate far away from the Ark ship and most other organization's except for alliances! Most people in the alpha's and beta will have probably have learned a few things and re-laid that knowledge to there organizations. The organizations will probably want room to grow and better security by not being close to potential foe's.

The city around the Ark ship will very likely emerge naturally, when merchants, recruiters and offices set up. Maybe some factories too, but getting resources back there would probably be harder in the future, since every newcomer pirate hangs around there...

I agree and this will probably be the first testing ground for a make shift city. Later as they move people around the planet  you will probably see organizations members owning land that is connect and then giving shared building rights to there organization so that there organization can build a connected city.

  16. Thanks for sharing the great information about your experience playing Dual Universe! Pre-Alpha will be a bit buggy but that is to be expected about alpha's and beta's but I am ready to get started and I even bought a new note book for finding game bugs! I hope to see you for the Pre-Alpha.    =)
