  1. How about having a multiplier of the building zone? So, at the beginning, you can only godmode around 1/5th the radius of the buildzone for example, but you can train skills to increase that multiplier.
  2. Perhaps T1 can be automatically mass-produced with little or no skills training?
  3. Well, I was thinking, the more implants you have, the more power it takes to keep you alive unless you get the ones meant to decrease energy usage(but they also have a slight drawback in body performance). I originaly was thinking that the prosthetics/implants would be like power armour without the skill-training hassle and the loss associated with death. As for the advanced brain, I was thinking you could lose skill training upon death/removal of implant, so you have to do it again.
  4. So, I was thinking, what if, you can make more or less of your body cybernatics? So, replacing your other arm with robotic arms for example. Some key modules: -Advanced Brain: makes skill training quicker -Caloric converter: turns food into energy useable by implants -Energy converter: turns energy into calories -Backup Life Support: backup systems to replace failing organs from combat(or something) to prevent dying long enough to get to safety Biology route -Needs organic food -not as much endurance -more fragile Cybernetics route -Needs expansive repair materials and energy cells -Drugs Performance-enhancers doesn't work as well -Needs skills to implant/use Please be respectful and post your suggestions here!

  6. Hmm, maybe a Build Zone that you can set up that allows you to use unlimited jetpack within that zone? Outside of that zone, you can fly for a limited amount of time before the jetpack runs out and fills up again. Or you can use the resource consuming pack for infinite time outside of the zone. Choose one.
  7. I also was thinking T2 armours are lighter in general since they use special (non-powered) metamaterials and other very advanced fabrics or whatever like carbon nanotubes. I also was thinking utility armour, which doesn't have much protection but gives you the ability to do more stuff like having more then one mounted equipment(so both shield and jetpack) or turning the armour fabric into a battery(something that you usually don't get until you get power armour).
  8. Ah. There you go. Of course, unless said small ship is going really fast. Very simple. It also ensures ships of smaller mass can't hurt your battleship, as you are FAR FAR heavier than them. And more or less, a planet wins i nany collsion that exeeds a ship's maximum tensile strength tolerance. Math and Science go hand in hand. And Engineering and Technology too. I hate seeing posts online saying how math is useles... Ironic since the computer used to type it, the software used to run and display the web browser, the infrastructure needed to run the server and the Internet, all took a lot of math to set up.

  10. Meh, the devs doesn't have all day for that. I think it would be best if there was a reporting system for players to use. Also, I was thinking transfer the file by transmissions.
  11. I personally think RP is stupid in games as it largely relies on the honor system(which isn't very reliable in video games). Even more so in this situation since you are disadvantaging yourself on purpose. Making jetpacks require resources makes people go out and get said resources, which is good for the DU community. It also means you can't just fly to the next planet over with the jetpacks. Also, i think the jetpack should be in-game for more then building. I think they should be used in all aspects of life from combat to exploration to transit.
  12. >Strawmanning people as "idiots that doesn't understand what DU is about" because they disagree with you. >Productive, civilized, and respectful discussion that helps DU and the forums. Choose one. In other news, I think there should be a revival system via some sort of specialized RN that you need training to use, and at the very end of the spectrum, a personal RN for your own use on death for self-revival or something like that. And the energy/mana/stamina/whatever sap as well as the electronic warfare. Now, I here that the sapper allows players to counter heavy armour. But what counters the sapper? We could make it short-range and bulky so lightweight players can counter it. So, we got a RPS situation here. Personally, I think powered armour should be used for high mobility(like the ones that the US is developing) and as a Swiss army knife.
  13. Quick Question. Will Dual Universe be on Steam? I think DU should be on steam when in the beta phase since it will help reach out to a wider playerbase. I also think it will be a less pain when moving around on different computers.
  14. I doubt that people will be switching to Liunix on a large scale: While it is true that Microsoft said that they will not release any new windows versions, they said they will keep updating and refining windows 10. Also, many people do not use liunix because not much software is compatible because people don't use liunix because not much.... Also, China will probably pirate Windows 10.(No offence) Perhaps its that beilefe that people who disagree with us will stop disagreeing with us soon. People will stop voting for the opposing party...will stop using Android/IOS...will stop using PCs/counsels for gaming...will stop denying/believing in climate change...(no politcal discussion, AKA WWIII, intended)
  15. Well, if you read the posts above, they were talking about a infinite fuel jetpack with.... Just read the posts above.
  16. This is definitely not what I meant. So, my thought was this. You have a 2d map of the terrain(or 3d map of the planets and stuff) like in all of those other games. And, there is another layer overlaid on top of the 2d map that you can edit on. Its like having different layers in Adobe Photoshop(and most other photo editors). And maybe make it so a drone/spy satellite is required to get the map or something.
  17. Sounds nice. I also think you should be able to train against being tranquilized. But what about disabling machines like LUA-automated drones or something using an EMP blaster or something similar to that. For example, you could use it to shut down ship automation(for example, a basic evasion system or a automatic lockdown) before attacking it. And EMP-hardened equipment/modifications that has a higher chance of surviving such an attack.
  18. You can use the build mode explore/scout territory without having to actually travel and stuff. Especially enemy territory. Also, it breaks immersion.
  19. Its like having 1 tab over another.... except that the top tab is transparent.
  20. Yes, I do play Kerbal Space Program and use the Atomic Rockets website(http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/) if that is what you are talking about. Personally, my biggest concern for having physics-based collision is the strain on the server to calculate all the physics and stuff. KSP doesn't have multiplayer for a reason(and DMP isn't very reliable). Also, stop being salty. Also, the missile can get up to relative velocity with the target up close and personal, and explode, with the explosion flying with the ship. When I said spaceborne nukes, I was talking about those USAF designs from the 50s and the 60s, and don't forget, our old friend, SDI.
  21. On the other hand, Allioth probably be one of the most, if not the most, crowded planets since a lot of people start on it. So, what seems like a lot for a couple hundred people will probably run short for 10s of thousands of people. And a recycling gameplay will probably need cash to begin with, which brings us back to starting cash. AND DON'T MENTION THE INFLATION. THE ADDITIONAL PLAYERS WILL OFFSET THAT.
  22. People are talking about players not interacting and standing still in some VR environment, but I was thinking that a VR environment would be something like the holodecks from Star Trek where you would acutally have to go out and build the holodeck yourself. "The jetpack is fine, its simple and practical. It doesn't need any drawbacks because all its for is designing constructs. All you're doing is adding yet another resources to acquire to build stuff another grind. There will already be enough stuff we'll need to grind to do stuff in the game, no sense in adding little ticky tack stuff on top of that." If the jetpack is for designing/building constructs only, then how will we keep them from being used for other purposes? Having a godmode jetpack is clearly a bad idea.
  23. I don't think making real-time editable maps will be that hard if they got the real-time map already. Just have them in separate layers with the drawing layer having a transparent background, so there are actually 2 "maps" one over another.
  24. @above but you forgot two things. Inertia: Missiles will still be flying even when they run our of fuel, and small ships(in real life) will have tiny Delta-V to work with so they can't outrun things. Not sure how this will go in DU. Also, of course the nuclear explosion isn't stationary. The bomb would be aimed, and the explosion would have intertia(so it looks like a cone-shaped explosion to a observer stationary relative to the bomb. Remote Control Ramming missiles(Kinetic Kill Vehicles) and Rods from Gods will most likely have some sort of remote control if available. While space may be big, you can go to the target with your KKV like you do with your fighter or whatever. P.S. Not sure if the "I love the fact people think nukes in vacuum work the same way as in atmosphere" was directed at me, but I am aware that nukes don't behave like that. Atomic Rockets have been a great resources for me in the Hard-SF field.
