  1. Alioth has 1 t3, relatively hard to find. The other planets are the way to go. Go f4, solar system and click on each planet for which ores they have. Moons also have ores, but they're much rarer and are generally searched for and played out by large organised groups relative quickly.
  2. The general loops are 1) build small ship, find a way to get a bigger ship, find a way to get an even bigger ship, etc 2) as 1 but with industry and then moving to 1 3) joining a org and doing 1,2, 4,5,6 with friends and side eying who you are told to. 4) 1, but selling bps and crafting the most efficient/ pretty/ interesting designs. 5) surrogating around the sites and then doing 1-4 when bored. 6) only for completions sake because too early/botched: playing the market.
  3. Shift + pgdown moves Aphelia on if she is stuck or if you've completed a step early. --- If you travel to a planet and it seems unusually smooth, (non sanc moons, though, on the whole, tend to be flatter than planets) pull up immediately into space and relog. It could be the server has desynced. If you land you could suddenly find your ship up to 2km underground.
  4. Start a ticket. Or ask an nq mod in game for help.
  5. Dunno. I only started the beta on the 27th. They aren't common, as on all moons. I only found them on 1 hex around my base. Edit: and only 2 of the four.
  6. Start a ticket or ask for a NQ mod in game.
  7. I'm sure the tut woman called them robots. I'll add in it.
  8. If it happens again and isn't too high up and the fetch timer is still ticking then empty your inv, toggle "collect soil' or whatever its called, dig a lot of soli and then make a tower of that soil using alt + dig to reach it. If it is too high up, make another speeder, fly as close as you can, logout, get in your first speeder, land and fetch your second speeder. If it's "fetched" underground or invisibly (usually at a market) then ask for a mod to get it for you.
  9. There will be no more major wipes and any wipe will be purely to solve in game problems.
  10. If you are on a sanctuary moon, scan and locate t1 ores before you place your territory unit. You cant mine on an hex you don't own. Also, surface rocks are not evenly spaced. I theeeeenk mountains and hills gave a higher density.
  11. Voxelmancy = the art of using the voxel tools to make more interesting shapes than a square box. For example, making a globe then using ctrl × x to slice out a section to make a curved surface using ctrl + v. PvP = player vs player combat (or competition) PvE = player vs Environment where you survive without interference from other players. AvA = avatar vs avatar combat CvC = construct vs Construct combat Carebear = one who prefers pve, but also complains a lot about pvp and its adherents. Considered a slur. Murder Hobo = someone who gets enjoyment purely from destroying anyone they meet. A species of troll. Troll = someone who gets enjoyment from inconveniencing/ upsetting other players. Ganking = defeating an enemy easily, with overtones of bullying and seeking mismatched fights. Camper = someone prepared to sit in one place, like a spawn point or crossroads, to attack passersby. Considered unseemly. White Knight = the gaming version of a virtue signaller. Noob = a less friendly version of newb/newbie with intonation of incompetency, over confidence and not listening to advice. Goldspammer = someone offering in game cash for real world money, usually by spamming a chat channel. Lowest of the low. Market Scammer = someone who hopes you miss a decimal point or two. Considered scummy but part of life in a game like this or Eve Online. Fast Travel = a system that allows you to instantly, or unusually quickly, get from one place to another. Robot or Surrogate = A DU construct that allows you to explore and communicate quickly, but with limited interactivity with the universe. Space Legs = having the ability to walk around. This game has it, Elite Dangerous doesn't. Forum Wars = a spat that occurs in the game forums. May or may not be connected to an in game conflict. Forum Hijacking = a now, real world, illegal act of taking over a player's or clan's real world website as an act of war. Goonsquad = (1) a real world band of merry japesters/murdering monsters frim the Something Awful website that join online games to point and laugh at anyone taking in game politics too seriously or just to watch the world burn. Bound to turn up in DU eventually... or already. (2) someone acting like 1.
  12. Couple of crashes to desk top near the market, the tut stopping in one place and stutters using the shuttle but compared to the usual first few days after a sub launch, this isn't bad at all.
  13. Collect rocks and dig down to see if you have a t2 node below you.
  14. The NDA is now over, for new players and beta creations.
  15. Sounds mike something a ticket would solve...
  16. But don't fetch at markets as it can be glitchy and dont fetch too close to the Arkship as it will destroy your craft. Possibly also at markets in "no fly zones", but not tested this.
  17. First things first You can't mine outside your own hex on the sanctuary mine. So detect first, then place your sanctuary territory unit. Switch on your light with L. This gives you your depth and and your orientation degree. 0 is flat. Investing in jump pack and run speed; this will make leaving a mine immeasurably easier. Invest in nanopack inventory size. This will help you mine for longer. Invest in mining skills, obviously. The scanner (tool 3) T1 ores Press it. Walk about until you get signals. Learn what colour is what ore by pressing tab, then clicking on the output field in the middle of the screen and then toggling the t1 ores to see what blips disappear and reappear. Use this to focus on the ore you need (which is probably bauxite ). When the blips appear walk on the surface untill you are sure you are at the lowest point, this is usually when the line remains flat in all directions. Dig down. The line will slope. Keep digging down until the line is flat again. Choose any cardinal direction (NSEW) and dig forward at 0 degrees (flat). If the line remains flat then turn 90 degrees. If the line rises steeply, then turn 180 degrees. If the line continues to fall, then bingo. Carry on. Repeat if the line flattens again. If the line remains flat in all the cardinal directions then dig up or down. If you get under 50 metres then try the detector (button 2). Move your head slowly starting in the direction you were digging. It takes a couple of seconds to 'kick in' so waggling your head around quickly will be useless. If you find a signal and it fades, then you are close, if it remains them dig in that direction. General tips The way you came in is the fastest way to get out. Especially now Force Respawn empties your suit. If you make a crossroads while mining, then make then dig with 'collect soil' (or have some handy) and then 'alt +dig' to close off dead ends. Alternately, use the flatten tool to smooth out the correct tunnels. Some miners like to have a mining base with a linked container on a core within reach of nearby ores and a surface hopper. Use the player resources to discover where ores are and how deep they sit. Depth of ores is measured from the surface, and is not an absolute depth. So you are at 100m then a ore at 500 meters will be 500 meters below you, not 400 or 600. Territory scanners are good for searching out t3 + ores. With the right talents you should be quicker manually searching for t1 and t2. With sufficient skills and practice you should be digging down and clearing t1 ores in under 5 minutes. So be patient.
  18. I will when I have something to show. Right now I'm slowly crafting plastic to make my base.
  19. It's much slower. In the last alpha session I painstakingly built all the industries I needed. Took a couple of weeks. This time I bought them. In minutes. Also xs industry is useful for keeping an industry process going while you go for a wander.
  20. May The Holy Wreck, no not that one, bless your future adventures. If you have any questions about the game I'll be happy to give answers of variable veracity. W!
  21. Greeting Starsouls Thank you for your work in making wrecks. Blood and oil!
  22. Sure, the rewards might not be top tier for non-believers, you understand, but still substantial.
  23. Once we have Avatar vs Avatar combat, I will be offering a small starter ship and possibly other rewards for anyone willing to take the time to be a voluntary human sacrifice to the Wreck. You will have to become a worshipper of the Holy Wreck, but this doesn't take up much of your time. I'd be happy if you only put it on census sheets, for example. It's a very 'hands off' religion. Except where human sacrifice is concerned...
