  1. Welcome on the forum UC_NUNI.

. On the very long term, we do plan to translate the game in several other languages (German, Spanish, French, Polish and Russian are the potential languages that we might support in the future, but again, if it happens it won't be any time soon).

NQ-Nyzaltar nice information that will be in the future Polish language.

  2. I think official DU teamspeak server should arise. Not now but meybe during beta testing or release of the game.

This is an interesting element of building community in game.

I saw it in WarThunder and Elite Dangerous. I was with these games from the beginning.

These servers are the first place where new players appears. They looking for help from experienced players. They are looking for other players to play together, they don`t always want to be in the clan. This is the first place for a new clans which do not yet have their own TS server.

  3. Clearly you've never played games like DayZ, Rust, ARK, Miscreated, ArmA 3, et cetera.  VOIP can be essential in resolving a situation quickly before shots are fired.

This is going to be a heavily PvP-based game.  VOIP is essential.  Will need local, common commo freqs for ship-to-ship hailing and ground contact, et cetera.

Yes it's true. I play in Arma II and III and in Elite Dangerous. With my friends and clan members we sit on TS server but when you meet a player you do not know VOIP is excellent. Often you do not have the time or ability to write in chat......then VOIP works great.

I know we have TS, mumble, but we use them especially among our friends, clan members.

I know we have chat, private chat, trade channels that we use to contact to other players, usually we do not know.

But VOIP in game in situations about I wrote above build interaction between players and climate of the game.

  4. Controled NPC in player shops will be good idea. The store can function even if the player is not in the game. We only delivery the goods to the store.

We can also enter the payment for NPC :)  . We pay him every week.

  5. Are you trying to tell me i can be a king and tax the peasants if they don't pledge fealty and offer tribute ?

Mechanics "policy" will be performed in the game. We can acquire territories on the planets. If you own land why not be able to rent it ? Rent it and collect taxes.

After some time, some cities, planets and space stations may become such ....... "social centers", where players from a given region of the galaxy or planetary system to meet.

This will be a good place for trades.

  6. I think in the DU should be available VOIP, voice communication system.

    Possible to use in:

    1) communications ship vs. ship, pilot with another pilot,

    2) communication on board of ship / vehicle, between crew members,

    3) communication between the ship and traffic control on stations or planets (we may ask for permission to land),

You can do cool inflection reminiscent radio.

  7. The idea of players shops is nice. Hiring NPC for ours shops too.

In DU players can built big cities. Some of them may become a trading hubs. Shopping centers on the planet or in planetary system.

It would be nice to see shopping streets full of shops with clothing, weapons, medical supplies, food.

An additional aspect of what I see is....of such shops landowners could charge tax.

  8. I understand that the game itself will have a market place, which I assume is like an auction house, and what I am wondering is how it will be done. There are three ways I am thinking it could be done, and I am sure I am missing some;

One way, a region based auction house that has different goods up for sale depending on what area / region you are currently at in the gameworld.

Second way, similar to ESO, where the auction house is based off of what guilds and factions you are in. I personally think this is the worst type, as it can be hard to get a large market and it is generally not very competitive.

Thirdly, a fully open and free market, where the goods you list in one side of the universe are simultaneously listed on the other end, and when you don't need to join or be a part of a guild to get in.

Let's get a conversation going on everyones thoughts!

I play in ESO and the "guild" auction house there it is a very bad solution.

I in space games I like to trade and crafting so for me, the solution is simple. Trade is a very important aspect of the mmo game which builds interaction between players.

    1) we can construct  "Trade Module",

    2) we have a couple of classes "Trade Module",

    - class I - you see things that are for sale only in the planetary system,

    - class II - you see things that are for sale only in the region of the galaxy,

    - class III - you see things that are available for sale throughout the galaxy,

    3) construction of "Trade Module" needs a quantity of raw materials, semi-finished products,

    4) to make the modem work you give him the energy supply,

    And now the most important:

Let's say that you use Trade Module class III on planet ABC. Goods you bought from this module was put on the planet XYZ in planetary system away from you about 200Ly. You bought these goods, but now you have to fly these 200Ly to pick up these goods. For me, this is basic mechanics of the operation of trade in mmo / sandbox game.

A different kind of trade can be on the chat channel "Trade". Channel "Trade Local" for planetary system. Channel "Trade Regional" for region of the galaxy.

  9. View from the cockpit looks great. As for me it is the only sensible way of piloting the ship.

In my opinion, the third-person view of ships should act only on the basis of camera. In this mode, there should not be the possibility of piloting the ship. Piloting would be more realistic and require pilot experience.

Another important issue is to make ship to behave as realistically fly. That was interesting physics of flight. The weight of the vessel, the number of engines and their location, the quality and type of engines should have an impact on piloting.

For large ships which require multiple players for servicing, I think one pilot can take off, fly and land the ship, he has access to general ship systems. But other systems such: weapon, manual control weapon, shields, taking on board various objects from space, repairing damaged systems, should require the actions of other players on the ship.

For example: the first pilot can generally turn off and turn on the shields.....but can no longer manage the shields in details, sending power to the shields on the sides of a ship.

  10. Hello, folks;

I am a long-time player of EVE Online who stumbled on Dual Universe today and now REALLY looking forward to it. I hope to be in alpha and eventually bring my casual-play corporation/guild/clan/empire/whatever to a great new sci-fi game.

    Welcome on forum.

In DU policy will be certainly important, organizations players also.

  11. I was looking through the images that you've uploaded and noticed this little thing here.. What is this in the air?.. Is that a destroyer, a moon, a asteroid.. what is it... the curiosity is too much!..

EDIT: Changed the image to a link as it was MASSIVE..

They construct outpost. Perhaps this is some form of defense drone, which is controlled by the player, scan the environment.

  12. Yeah no, i'm sorry you've got that wrong... When i play this i'm only going to have one universe and it's going to DU... the other universe is just going to be AFK.. :D

He he :) nice .....but remember....when you're in space, never go on AFK. This usually ends badly ;)  .

  13. You ask why.....Dual Universe ??

Because when you start playing in Dual Universe you will not be able to stop playing......you begin to live in two worlds, universes :) . One will be your current world and the second will be world in game.....so DUAL UNIVERSE :D ;)  .
