  1. But those orgs have nobody else connected to them.

Might be a setup for organisation purposes, like sub-departments. For example, the TU has recently opened an org for their armed forces. They could`ve done that for every ministry, sub-group etc. It might be cluttering, but it can be a legit system if your plans are huge.

  2. May I add, giant ship eating monsters would be pretty immersion breaking.

True. Maybe they can have it as an event for first year after release or something. (Without the construct eating part though.)

  3. I'm in favor of the time limit option. As I see it, people mostly abuse things like that if it's easy and instant, since they do it for fun rather than actual damage. And waiting is absolutely no fun. Restricting the right to found would mostly get rid of these problems

    - Real life people represented
    - Real life company names involved
    - Imaginary people from popular IP represented

but not of the fake spam.

So, maybe implement both of these features to stop both kinds of misbehavior.

  4. In general it's quite a nice idea. Makes me think about indoor farming, farmer skills which would allow you to gain maximum yield from those farms (to prevent farm raids and stuff. I guess people would rather buy from one farmer instead of raiding ten for the same outcome) the necessity of light and soil, the latter maybe even included in the original construction. Also, the biomes thing sounds really good, as it would encourage farmers to spread out across planets, instead of gathering in a single place.

The use of crops was something I thought about for a while now. Buff foods would make little sense from a logical place, except maybe if you combine food with certain chemicals, a survival aspect is, as far as I know, not planned (correct me if I'm wrong, I have been out for a while) so the only options would be heal items or fuel.

  5. I can't speak for others, but I do realize that there will be a lot of work ahead. I might have said it somewhere before, but I'll say it again: All of the plans concerning any Volcanov Corp. structures, vehicles and employee roles are pre-game roleplay for now. I will try to realize as much as possible, but also adapt to the game when it's out.

  6. Welcome! Welcome!

Welcome to the grand opening of the great Volcanov Trading Hub, floating in the space above the magnificent VolcTower! It provides a save haven for every merchant and paying customer in this sector. Financed by a slight tax on all trade, it consists of four floors, which house lots of wonderful facilities for every customer!

    Floor 1:

The  lowermost floor consists of the 8 landing wings, where most smaller ships are be able to land. Capital ships will have to send shuttles. These landing wings have fuel stations and repair crews on the standby, always ready to tend to your crafts while you browse the inventories of the local merchants!

    Floor 2:

The second floor houses not only the traders, but also hangars, which can be either used to park your ship for an extended time, allowing you to set up a trade stand of your own or just get some days of rest in our tourist quarters, or showcase your prototypes to potential customers!

    Floor 3:

The third floor has lots of room for storage, so the second floor has room for more merchants, as well as conference rooms that large corporations can rent to hold meetings, promotional events and such.

    Floor 4:

In the uppermost floor is the control center as well as a security hub for our private forces. This floor is not open for the public, only Volcanov Employees. Our guards are specially trained to keep nosy spies away from customer databases and pirates away from your goods, so you don't have to worry about anything. Well, except maybe the quality of your products, but we're not here to judge.

Now, I hope I will see many of you coming to this monument of trade, maybe even as a Volcanov Employee!

    Simon Volcanov

    CEO of the Volcanov Corporation

  7. I was thinking offline players would continue to be an in-game entity. Perhaps they become a killable/destroyable element when they log off. The ship owner could just leave them in there, or drop them off at their destination (or kill them i guess). An offline player may even have some layer of protection that an online player does not have to resist being killed/destroyed (to account for the fact that they cannot defend themselves) perhaps a 12 hour invincibility that re-sets after 24 hours or something. Perhaps TU owners can have jurisdiction to prevent players from killing offline players, who knows.

That would make for a great hotel/taxi system, where you either pay to be protected while offline (you might not always be able to return to your home when you need to log off) or even be transported while offline, even with combinations of the two...

  8. Well, I plan on building a huge office tower as my Corporation Center, possibly with a Corporation owned trading station in the space above it, complete with a repair/refuel station for all (paying) customers and hangars for either showcasing your products or simply as parking space. (The usual fees apply.) And I'll probably have to do most of it on my own, since most of my Org have actual lives to lead... losers.

  9. Among the suppliers for the european Arkships was the Volcanov Mining and Trading Inc., a company founded by my grandfather in the wake of discovering maybe one of the largest platinum deposits in this solar system.

The closer the earth drew to its death, the more immoral my father, who lead the company in the final years, became. Acquiring every speck of metal, valuable or not, from the african continent, often with the help of mercenaries, he was one of the reasons why so many died while the european upper class could enjoy their luxurious Arkship quarters.

He lost every last bit of my respect as he resorted to large-scale weapon trading, equipping the Humanity Front with specially coded nukes that would target chinasian Arkships living quarters, while leaving the factories and most of the valuable metals intact, so that he could salvage them. I earned my keep on the Arkship by exposing my father, the company and all of his wrongdoings to the UN, in the hopes of preserving at least one Arkship from his greed.

In the new world, I will found a new Volcanov Corporation. A better one. And I will right my fathers wrongs by never taking a side in any conflict again and always trying to do what is best for humanity.

  10. Free after "Under our spell" from the Rainbow Rocks movie (

    )

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

You didn't know that you fell

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

Now that you're under my spell

    Blindsided by the bucks

Clapping your hands, stomping your feet

You didn't know that you fell

    Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh

Now you've fallen under my spell

    Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

I've got the money, makes you move it

Got the coins that makes you lose it

I say "jump", you say "how high?"

Put your hands up to the sky

I've got the money, makes you move it

Got the coins that makes you lose it

I say "jump", you say "how high?"

Put your hands up to the sky

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

You didn't know that you fell

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

Now that you're under my spell

Listen to the sound of my voice

    Oh-oh, whoa-oh-oh

Soon you'll find you don't have a choice

    Oh-oh, whoa-oh-oh

Captured in the web of my wealth

    Oh-oh, whoa-oh-oh

Soon you'll all be playing along

    Oh, whoa, oh

I've got the money, makes you move it

Got the coins that makes you lose it

I say "jump", you say "how high?"

Put your hands up to the sky

I've got the money, makes you move it

Got the coins that makes you lose it

I say "jump", you say "how high?"

Put your hands up to the sky

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

You didn't know that you fell

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

Now that you're under my spell

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

You didn't know that you fell

    Oh-whoa-oh, oh-whoa-oh

    Now that you're under my...

    Spell

  11. Traveling cities would definitely be cool, but maybe it'd be more feasible if it were a really large, slow ship in space with transport ships to shuttle people to and from.  Something similar in design to the Bentusi ships from Homeworld with a large marketplace being a significant part of it.

Same idea, just in space. A city traveling around a planet close to the surface vs. a city traveling through space. In the end, both would be possible, if enough players are behind it
